Jewelpaw, yeah it's late


It was way past sunhigh by the time Speckpaw had awoken, and he raised his head sleepily in confusion from the bright light streaking into the den. After a few moments to blink and process what was going on, the apprentice noticed that no one was really in the den. Peeking out into the clearing, he was shocked and horrified to find out he had slept in... a lot.

Uh-oh.... Blacksmoke hadn't thought to wake him? No one did? Looking around wildly, he noticed a familiar apprentice heading his way, and he instantly piped up. "Jewelpaw, why didn't anyone wake me before sunhigh? Blacksmoke is going to skin me!" But there was no point in going on the hunt for his mentor. He might as well enjoy his day off as it was. And at least Jewelpaw was here.

[Jewelpaw]

Jewelpaw came back in from the border patrol she had tagged along to with her mentor. She said bye to her mentor heading towards the fresh kill pile then makeing a turn towards the apprentice den slowly. She thought maybe someone would like to eat with her but she doubted anyone was there. She made her way to the entrance surprised to see Speckpaw just getting up and she tilted her head wondering why her was so upset. She laughed at his question thinking how in the world could he forget."Umm, maybe because you were on patrol last night?"She said with a giggle.

Speckpaw's head drooped. "Yeah, but everyone else on that patrol woke up on time." he muttered sourly, and then took a deep breath. No reason to act all moody now, even if he did just wake up. Giving Jewelpaw a smirk, he decided to banish any negative thoughts and just think happy. "It seems like forever since I've last seen you, and your certainly a lot prettier now." he laughed the last bit with a friendly playfulness. "Anyway, wanna share a rabbit or somethen?"

Jewelpaw tilted her head wondering if it had really got him down that everyone else was doing duties.She watched as he cheered up and she smiled glad he wasn't to upset about the accident.She nodded"It definetly has been along time...i think we were kits last time I saw you."She said remembering her kit days running around and playing with her littermates."Sure.'She nodded motioning towards the exit to the den as she stepped out into the sunlight.

Speck grinned at her agreement and he hurried over to the fresh-kill pile, scooping up a rabbit in his jaws. He turned back to Jewel, mumbling through the rabbit fur. "Wherf do you wannaf eaf af?"

Jewelpaw couldn't help but giggle at his accent.She dipped her head picking a warm Mouse."How about...beside the nursery unless the handsome prince wants something better?"She joked.

Speckpaw felt his fur heat up, but he moved to the side of the nursery anyway. Settling down, he dropped the rabbit and smirked at her. "The beautiful princess happy now?" he teased.

[Jewelpaw]

Jewelpaw sat down next to hi mand set the mouse down and giggled."Yes, she is very happy."She laughed takeing a tiny bite into the mouse and looked at him."Does someone need to hcop your rabbit into peices for you?"She joked.

[Speckflame]

Speckpaw laughed at that. "Oh, the beautiful Jewel should not have to get her dainty paws dirty." he meowed.

[Jewelpaw]

She rolled her eyes flicking his ear with her tail."So..your gonna be a Warrior soon.."She said it broke her heart she wouldn't get to see him anymore but she'd be a warrior soon so.Truth was she had alittle feelings for Speck but she had always ignored them.

[Speckflame]

Speck nodded at that. "Yeah, I hope so. Thunderfox already beat me to his name... so I have to catch up." He then flashed Jewel a smile. "You'll be a warrior before you know it, too."

[Jewelpaw]

She giggled."He's quite a cat."She teased.

"He certainly is." Speck agreed. He then realized it had been awhile since he had met his brother, and maybe making some time to see Thunderfox should be done.
