So, as you've probably noticed, things are changing in DeathClan. A while ago there was a site announcement where I talked about potentially disbanding the group for several reasons. That's not happening anymore. Instead, a better solution has been devised.
The age of long-lasting monarchs is over for DeathClan. Drought was killed in a coup, and a state of pseudo-anarchy has been established. Anybody may lay claim to the metaphorical crown at any time. It's a free-for-all! Of course, that means holding power for any length of time will likely be difficult. It is advisable to gather a small group of close allies before challenging whoever happens to be in chargeā¦ but I won't tell you what to do. If you want to have your cat try to take the throne alone, you are welcome to do so.
Here's the catch: future leaders of this group will not be gaining staff powers. This is what will allow a high degree of fluidity for DeathClan. The leader will essentially be a figurehead with a large amount of recognition, but they'll still need to ask a staffer if they want to start a big plot or do anything that would normally require permission.
As for me? I'm staying on the staff team, just moving to a different spot. This account will be losing its powers, but they'll be transferred to my next staff character. I'll be generally looking after DeathClan and maintaining its roster; I just won't be the official leader anymore. You are free to direct any DeathClan-related questions to my new medicine cat character, Addervenom.
With any luck, you'll find that DeathClan is just as much fun as before! Go ahead and start making plans for your character to seize power, or don't. It's all up to you!
