Robinfrost, honestly, didn't know what had happened to Wildstar. He was almost certain she had retired, or died, but he hadn't seen her either way. It was unlikely she had disappeared. Whatever the reason for stepping down, it meant that the deputy would be the new leader. And Robin just so happened to be that deputy. His chin was lifted proudly as he left camp, all eyes on him, but once he was out of sight he let his shoulders drop. This meant more responsibility, which he could certainly take on. Still, the thought was slightly frightening. Not only that, but he'd have to come up with a deputy by the time he got back.
The brown and ginger tabby tom trekked through the mountains, making his way towards Shimmering Rocks. Once there, his paws a little sore, he settled down next to the rock and pressed his nose to it, closing his eyes. He soon drifted off to sleep, awaiting his ancestors to name him IceClan leader.

Crookedthorn stood amongst the crowd of cats to give Robin his nine lives. He pressed his nose against the leader's forehead. "With this life I give you faith. May you believe in your Clan as they believe in you." He stepped back as Robinstar would feel a flash of pain. Potentially feeling the death of how Crookedthorn was ripped to shreds by a pack of dogs.

I sighed as I paced around the area, fur smoothed down and groomed, although it wasn't like it mattered considering that most of it was made of stars anyway. I could feel myself trembling with slight excitement as I waited for the new leader, the other spirits informing me that as one of the more recent deaths in my clan, it would be worthwhile for me to become apart of this ritual. I sat down and tried to calm myself and look like the sort of peaceful, relaxed spirit that one would expect of a CloudClan cat. I subconsciously wondered if Fei'lan would be proud of me for doing this and a little spot in my head told me yes.
I stepped forward after Crookedthorn, head tilted up as I pressed my nose to Robinstar. "With this life, I give you compassion; the fire to protect your clan with all of your lives." I stepped back and closed my eyes, knowing he'd receive the horrible pain of being torn apart and gutted by a rogue as I defended my clan with my life and blood. I raised my head and gave him a smile. "Tell Fei'lan that I love him and wish him good health, would you?"

Robinfrost opened his eyes in a different land, as he'd expected. In front of him, nine cats stood, waiting to give him his lives. The deputy sat up, raising his head to look each of them in the eye with an unwavering gaze. His eyes shifted to the brown and white tom (?) as he parted from the group, watching as the warrior made his way towards the tabby. The deputy stared at him, trying to remember if he'd spoken to him before. He faintly recognized him, but he couldn't remember where from.
Robin bowed his head, letting Crookedthorn press his nose into his forehead. Faith. He listened to the words, opening his mouth to thank the warrior, when his body went rigid. The male didn't remember hearing anything about this, but he wasn't able to contemplate this as pain ripped through his body. His eyes fluttered wildly under his eyelids, and his breathing came out in short gasps. It felt like his limbs were being torn from his body at the same time as his eyes were being gouged out.
When it was over, his eyes flew open, and he forced himself to regain his posture. He needed to look good in front of these starry cats. He needed to impress them, lest they think he wasn't worthy to be named Robinstar. However, he'd just let them see him at a vulnerable point, and under no circumstance would he want anyone to see that. He looked at the row of cats with a newfound defiance, determined to show them he wasn't weak as he readied himself for the next spirit.
A much smaller female parted from the crowd, and he thought he recognized her as well. She was merely an apprentice when she died. A pang of sadness sung through his body, but he kept the emotion from his face as he bowed his head. Compassion. The pain came again, but it was different this time. He felt the clean precision of feline claws ripping through his stomach, and the fire as it pooled through his body. He felt like he was dying for the second time.
The deputy gasped, opening his eyes slowly. He nodded to her, pausing when she spoke again. Sorrow swept through his body at her words. Tell Fei'lan I love him. "Of course," he told her, his voice merely a whisper yet still strong.

Lightfall waited among the line of CloudClan spirits, her long fur groomed well. If she still showed signs as living cats did, her eyes would be rimmed with red, and she'd be exhausted. She would have woken up every night from nightmares of falling, and talons tearing into her back, and be unable to fall back to sleep as he mind would be plagued with thoughts of Skyfire and what her life could have been. Of course, Spirits didn't need sleep and she was just as energetic and lively as usual, and no sign of sleepless nights existed on her mostly unmarked face.
When Robinfrost appeared, she straightened up. She'd been interested in the new tom. He had a bit of a past, but it didn't mean anything about the future of he he Clan. She saw the potential of a great leader in him. The queen watched as, one by one, cats approached the tom. When it was her turn, she stood and padded silently towards him, a smile crossing her face.
She pressed her nose to his forehead. "With this life I give you the strength of a mother's love," the former queen said. "Use it well to protect your clan as a mother would her kits." She stepped back, a look of sadness crossing her face as she thought of her kits. She expected that he'd feel the fear of falling and the pain of crashing into rocks far below.

Post by Redstorm on Oct 19, 2015 12:02:40 GMT -6
Redstorm had never thought he'd see the day that Wildstar would finally leave the position as Leader of Iceclan. He had been around for a long, looonnggg time as a living cat, and she had always been around. Now, even a good while into his death, she had remained. When he had heard the news of Robinfrost taking over he couldn't believe it. Surely there was no way the day had finally come. But here he was now, watching the tom get his first three lives. Faith, Compassion, a Mother's Love and the strength with it. All good virtues to give to the soon-to-be Robinstar. Redstorm knew exactly what to give Robin, though.
As Lightfall finished giving her life, Redstorm stepped up. He had never met Robinfrost, and hadn't watched the tom lead as much as he could have. But there was one thing that every leader needed, no matter the Clan. Instead of touching his nose to the tom's forehead as was tradition, Redstorm simply stared into Robinfrost's eyes before speaking. "Robinfrost, with this life I give you Sympathy. With it, remember that every cat, from every corner of the world, has a story. Use it to guide your judgement fairly and with justice." He said, giving the tom a brief nod. One he was done, he stepped back so the next cat could give the new leader the next life.

Though Nighthowl was not in Iceclan when she lived, she still came to give this leader a life. She joined the crowd of spirits and watched the ceremony. Cats she didn't know came up, mostly Iceclan by the guess. When it was her turn, she stepped up awkwardly.
The cloudclan spirit nodded and smiled at Robinfrost. "With this life I give you wisedom." She said, "Use it to guide your clanmates and to choose the right path." She finished, touching noses with the new leader, then she backed away into the crowd.

Robinfrost looked up as a she-cat approached him, and he instantly recognized her. Lightfall. She had died right after he had been named deputy, and he would never be able to forget it. It had been his first day as a deputy, and with that position came responsibility to keep everyone safe. And he hadn't. He bowed his head, letting her speak before pressing her nose into his forehead. A mother's love. His body jolted as he felt a ripping in his body, and pain exploded everywhere. It was brief, gone faster than the others, but it was painful all the same.
The tabby tried to regain his composed posture as Redstorm approached. The old tom had been around for as long as Robin could remember, and he had appeared in many more stories than one. It was good to see some familiar faces, but it didn't give him much comfort as he imagined the pain that was to come with each life. Sympathy. This time, Redstorm didn't touch Robinfrost with his nose. The soon-to-be leader raised his head to meet the elder's gaze.
He nodded once, ready for what was coming next. But instead of what he had been expecting, the thing that came after was much gentler. Still, he felt the underlying pull of darkness, but it didn't hurt, and for this, he was relieved. Next came a young female who he didn't recognize at all. Perhaps from another Clan, then.
Wisdom. He knew it was an important attribute for a leader to have, as were all of them. The pain came again, but, as it was each time, it was subtly different. He gasped, and his eyes flew open. Then it was over. Only four more to go. Maybe I will survive after all.

Goldensun touched his nose to the leader's forehead. "With this life I give you guidance." He himself had been murdered by an enemy. "Let you be a leader, a voice, a guide and support for your Clan." He went back to sit with the other spirits.

"With this life I give you courage. Be brave for your Clan. Do not let fear sway your judgement." He gave the leader his life then joined the other spirits.

VOLEBLAZE OF CLOUDCLAN Voleblaze stepped forward next. Now, he might not have lived in IceClan either, but the black cat felt it important to be among the nine who gave lives to this new leader. He couldn't allow Robinfrost to become corrupted like FireClan's leader.
"With thith life I give you pride," lisped Vole. "May you lead your Clan with dignity, alwayth."
He could clearly recall that one fateful day, when his own pride had driven him into a confrontation with Darkstar. She'd leaped upon him as if he was prey - Voleblaze remembered how she'd seized his neck in her jaws, and then there had been a snap and nothingness. Robinfrost would feel that same pain as he touched his nose to the tabby's forehead. With an unspoken apology in his gaze, Vole then rejoined the other CloudClanners and waited for the final life to be given.
