Sunfish padded out of the warriors den. He yawned, glancing around the slightly empty clearing. He assumed everyone was on patrol or training. It seemed awfully dead in camp for once in contrast of the usual hustle and bustle. Sunfish began to make his way to the fresh kill pile when he thought he saw a familiar face, or rather, someone he assumed to be the new queen. He grabbed a mouse from the fresh kill pile. Quite a difference from the usual fish he'd have. But it wasn't really for him anyway. He wandered over. "Hello Dappledleaf. How are you settling in the nursery? Well I hope?" He inquired, cocking his head, hoping this was her or he'd look like an idiot.

Dappledleaf had just gotten back from a walk, and while passing the fresh-kill pile when a golden tabby tomcat approached her, catching her off guard. She hadn't been expecting anyone to talk to her, seeing as she was, well... not one to catch another's eye.
"That's correct," she replied with a dip of her head. "And I'm settling well." the tabby added after a moment. He must've heard of her promotion. Something about him seemed familiar, but she couldn't place a paw on it? Was this Sunfish her friend Silvercloud had mentioned when they were both still apprentices?
"If you don't mind my asking, are you Sunfish, the new deputy?" She paused. This meant Robinfrost was the new leader, right? Her friend, Oakpaw would be proud, as he was currently mentoring last time she'd checked.
( Sorry, my muse is kind of dead right now. To say I'm overwhelmed is an understatement Cx )

[All good I've got rotting muse at the moment. XP]
Sunfish was slightly relieved he hadn't gotten it wrong. "Oh, well that's good." He was glad to hear she was doing okay. He wasn't aware whether new queens felt overwhelmed or not. He'd never really paid much heed to the nursery before. Even when he was a kit, considering he hadn't really grown up here. At least not properly. He remembered the mouse he'd grabbed from the pile and dropped it.
"Hungry?" He tilted his head, curiosity apparent in his tone. The question she brought up next made even him feel a little overwhelmed. He wasn't exactly used to the title, not yet. "Err.." He nodded. "Yeah. I'm Sunfish, nice to meet you."

She purred at the tom's relieved sigh, and a moment later was surprised at his next question. Hungry? She was indeed. Nodding her head, she nudged the mouse, then sat down with it, nibbling. She wasn't sure if he'd intended to share, but she kind of hoped not, seeing as she wasn't used to sharing food with others... not that she minded, just that it was awkward in her opinion.
As he purposely avoided mentioning deputy in his response, she nodded to herself. Perhaps he wasn't ready to use it or didn't feel used to it yet. Dappledleaf the queen. She agreed, it was weird. "Ah, I've heard much about you, it's so nice to finally meet you," she replied with a smile, thinking back to her conversations with Silvercloud. Nibbling on the mouse, the tabby tried to think of a topic to dwell on, though came up empty, except mentioning his new status, which he didn't seem very comfortable discussing just yet.

He smiled slightly, though it wasn't incredibly noticeable. He was glad she'd accepted his 'offering'. Sunfish was a bit well.. awkward. He had a best friend but no actual friends to his name. People seemed to take that as a little pathetic. He blinked, a bit baffled by where she could have possibly heard of him. He cocked his head.
"Errmm.. Heard about me from who?" Hopefully it was good things. The last thing he needed was a ruined image of himself right when he'd gotten picked to fulfill the new deputy role. He didn't really know anyone who'd talk lowly of him-besides Adderpaw. Otherwise he had no clue who'd of brought up his name.

She smiled in return to the tom, then blinked in surprise, as she'd forgotten to introduce by whom he was mentioned and that they were indeed good things.
"Oh, one of your recently promoted apprentices, Silvercloud," she mewed, finishing her mouse with a gulp, then sitting up straight, resting her tail gingerly on her paws. "She's spoken very highly of you," the tabby added, hoping it reassured the tom. Hopefully, she hadn't given him a scare, though she was fairly certain she hadn't. It was her first day and she already felt so confused and overwhelmed... The last thing she wanted to do was end up on not-so-friendly speaking terms with the deputy.

"Silvercloud?" He recalled that she'd been a good apprentice. "Oh, she did?" He was a little surprised though. He didn't think his apprentices thought that much of him. Although.. it did make him feel quite good about himself. It gave him a little boost of confidence that he could be held in such high regards by somebody. "I'm glad to hear she was so fond of me. I'll have to see her sometime soon." He'd be happy to see his former apprentice again.
"Training anyone yourself?"

She nodded. It was evident the tom was surprised, or perhaps a bit caught off guard. Had he not been expecting reviews from his apprentices. Did he feel the same about all cats? She was a bit intrigued, as she'd never known a deputy to lack such large amounts of confidence. Yet, she could admit she was lacking in many things she'd consider vital or nearing that very often.
"Yes, I am currently training three apprentices: Otterpaw, Hazepaw and Moonpaw." she said with a smile, her tail flicking slightly. "Though, Moonpaw seems to have gone inactive disappeared..." she added after a moment, trailing off. "Do you have any right now? Disregarding Silvers' recent promotion."

Sun lacked a lot of confidence in himself mostly of how he grew up. His childhood was a bit messy. There was huge confusion on where he'd come from until he'd figured out about his parents in IceClan. Even so, his adopted loner parents, mostly his father, had been well.. to put it in the nicest terms possible, not very nice or supportive. Unlike his actual parents when he'd finally met them. But he dealt with a lot of insecurities about himself, especially when it consisted of his abilities.
"Oh nice. I'm training Sunpaw and Knotpaw.. and well Batpaw who is a special case." He laughed lightly. Batpaw claimed Sunfish and Robinstar were both his parents.
"They are all good cats."

( whoops forgot to respond, bleh)
She'd heard of Batpaw and Knotpaw on several occasions, though heard a little less of Sunpaw... Perhaps they were a newer apprentice? "I've heard much about Batpaw," she replied with a small smile, purring lightly. He was an interesting cat, indeed. She wondered if what he claimed was true? Maybe it was, but she wasn't sure how two toms could have made a kitten it could've ever happened.
"Well, I'm glad. I'm sure they'll turn out to be great warriors," she finished, feeling satisfied with the slightly indirect compliment.

"Like I said, Batpaw is a special case. At first I thought maybe he was just some random kit playing some kind of prank or trick.. But the more he stuck around the more I think he actually believes the things he says. Batpaw.. err.. legitimately thinks he's the son of Robinstar and I. Combined. Obviously, that makes no sense, but he seems to literally believe it and refuses to listen to reason. He even gets offended." He flicked an ear.
"I just decided to go along with it. It's not really hurting anyone. Well, maybe Robinstar's mate, Spiderleaf- ehh.. Spidermask I mean." He didn't really know what she thought of it. It was a bizarre subject. "I never even thought about having kits so him showing up definitely threw me off."
