Shadekit frowned, looking down at the poof he had become. "It isn't that funny," he grumbled, though he did have to bite back a smile, which was provoked more by Mistkit's amusement than his own current predicament. He shook his head as the she-cat ducked under the water, amazed at the audacity his new friend displayed at a seemingly never-ending rate. The tom sighed at her suggestion, though he was curious about the affect the water would have on his senses. "I'll do it," he replied, sinking a bit lower into the water, "but if I end up at the end of the river, I'm blaming you." With one last lopsided grin, Shadekit slipped under the rippling surface of the river. He quickly found that Mistkit had not been lying; while everything else seemed dull and muted, he could here his own heartbeat as clearly as he had heard the furious roar of the river above, and he was almost certain he could hear the blood rushing through the various veins and arteries running all throughout his body. When he finally resurfaced, his teeth were chattering, but the very bright, innocent glow of his amber gaze seemed to contradict all other physical signs of the cold. "That was great!" he exclaimed, shaking his head to try and dispel the flows of water that cut tracks through his fur.

| "Nope, it's super funny. I'm just extremely nice and choosing to make fun of you... well, not make of you too much." I gave a wink and a smile, as if I were some sort of charming actress on the red carpet. I was anything but charming to most cats, but it definitely was all a matter of perspective. A perfectly insane cat might find me to be the best thing since the hunters' crouch. "Mistkit the waterfall rider should be a fairly decent and accurate title for myself, don't you think? I don't know about you, but I'm gonna ride that waterfall all the way down when I'm older." I watched the kitten go under, the last of his white fluff being sucked down into the swirling brown water, only a few bubbles popping up to show me where he had once been. I felt a small prick of worry because the tomcat was younger than I and probably hadn't developed the same muscles I had had time to, but I ignored it and impatiently let out a breath, a thick curl of steam billowing from my mouth. The air was getting colder as it was getting even later, the crescent moon risen entirely in the sky. I looked over as he popped back up, a curious grin on my lips. "Oh, and what was that blaming me about your body being at the end of the river?" I snorted as I shook water from my eyelashes, the little droplets making it hard to see. | | | | | notes/tags |

Shadekit had to admit that the idea of simply jumping into the midst of the waterfall and letting it carry him down the rapids sounded extremely fun, even if it was a little bit insane. With another lopsided grin to accompany the beaming glow within his eyes, the tom replied, "Oh, I'd still have blamed you. I just wouldn't have admitted to having fun." Though the tom was beginning to feel the bite of the leaf-fall wind, even more acutely than he had before, he was still having far too much fun to go back. A thought came to him, and with a devious smirk, he batted his paw against the surface of the water, angled so that the shock-wave of water would splash into Mistkit.

| I snorted and raised my brows, giving him a look that said 'go ahead, I dare you'. "Be careful. You might somehow end up at the end of that river, suddenly unable to blame. Maybe the rapids swept you off your feet... or the rain blinded you and you tripped into the river? Which alibi is more convincing?" I gave a mischievous grin, one lip curled up to show off sharp teeth. I wasn't really threatening, just poking fun. However, I was shocked to have a wave of water smack me in the face. I let out a mock-furious cry and splashed back, but I suddenly had an idea that seemed ingenious. I dove beneath the surface of the water and blinked my eyes open, everything bleary before turning into a clear view of dark murky water. I swam towards Shadekit's direction, or at least where I had last remembered it being, smirking devilishly as I kept my cheeks puffed up with air. I was able to catch a wisp of his white fluffy and I propelled myself forwards even faster, hoping to launch myself into his lower half and drag him down to me underneath the water. | | | | | notes/tags |

Though he grinned at the other cat's mock anger, Shadekit had a feeling of trepidation at Mistkit's devious grin. "What are you-?" before he could finish his question, the she-cat was gone, vanished beneath the roiling surface of the river. The tom wasn't certain who he should worry for more, himself or his friend; both fears seemed valid. He didn't have to wonder for long, of course; after a couple of heartbeats, Shadekit was tackled and dragged further into the river. He managed a quick cry before he was dragged completely under, then he was beneath the water once again. Quickly disentangling himself from Mistkit, he came back up to the surface, gasping for air. Once he'd caught his breath again, he looked to his friend, amber eyes fiery with mock anger, underneath which was honest amusement. "What was that for?" he asked, and though his tone seemed irritated, a lopsided grin was making its way across his face.
(Sorry for the late reply, busy weekend.)

| A gasping laugh bubbled from my lips, water quickly filling my mouth as I swam there for a moment, silently letting out big bubbles of my air float up. I finally swam back to the surface, to catch sight of a very drowned looking Shadekit. I couldn't hold back another fit of giggles and laughter before finally calming myself down, breath coming out in wisps of white smoke that puffed out in varied intervals. "You seem to like splashing so much that I thought you'd enjoy a little splash of your own." I gave him a wicked grin, holding back more amusement. "Terribly sorry that I pulled off such a heinous stunt, your drowned-ness," I stated with a little mock dip of my head to him. | | | | | all's good c: /tags |

"As you should be," Shadekit replied, shaking his head in a similar manner to a dog and making his fur stick up in snow-white spikes. "You are lucky I do not charge you with treason to the drowned kingdom," he added, as seriously as he could, though he couldn't quite keep the quiver of a laugh out of his voice, and the grin that had been spreading now occupied his face in the form of a smile. "I will be willing," he began once again, his smile becoming mischievous, "to simply let you off with another splash." As he finished his sentence, Shadekit leapt at Mistkit with a yowl, his amber eyes alight with a mixture of mischief and amusement, hoping to land on the she-cat with enough force to push her back under the torrent of the river.

| "Oh, why thank you, my liege! I am forever in your debit! Will I ever be able to repay your benevolent actions and undeniable righteousness?" I gave a dramatic throw of my head, making sure to spatter him with the river water that stubbornly clung to my slick coat. "Let me off, you say? But in return for what will—" I got cut off as he leaped towards me, surprise lighting up my expression. I wrapped my paws around him though as he landed down on me, hopefully being able to drag him back down under with myself. I wouldn't be going down alone if he was planning to exact his revenge on me.

Though Shadekit managed to land on Mistkit, he felt dismay rise in his chest as she wrapped her paws around him. The she-cat would not be the only one to fall back into the river. Resignedly, the tom let gravity finish what he had started, allowing both himself and Mistkit to fall into the frigid torrent once again. Shadekit was pleasantly surprised that the water had lost its shocking chill, though he knew that this only meant his body had adjusted to the constant dunkings and redunkings. When he broke the surface once again, he actually shivered; the chill of the air seemed to be greater than that of the river. "Well," he said after he'd gotten his shaking under control, "now that we're both thoroughly soaked, do you happen to know if their's a good place to dry off?" Though he knew that there were likely no spots to dry off outside of camp, his natural curiosity would not let him leave the territory without at least asking if there were any places that his friend knew of.
