Petalfur didn't have an issue with boarders. Well, to say the least, she was perfectly willing to defend them with her life, but she wasn't going to interrogate someone who accidentally crossed it, or a cat who simply wandered near it. It wasn't to say that Petalfur wasn't loyal, as that was hardly the case, just that she didn't think of the clan boundaries as protection, but as restriction. That said, seeing a cat near the Iceclan boarder didn't alarm her at all. The breeze was coming from behind her and across the Iceclan territory into Rockclan territory, so even if this stranger had lingering traces of herb-scent clinging to her fur, Petalfur wouldn't have been able to smell it. "Hey, there!" Petalfur greeted in the least offensive way possible. "Just letting you know I'm not stealing your prey!" It was more of a joke, but Petalfur had heard that Rockclan was pretty defensive of their territory.

{ nah it's cool ;3 }
Anemonemist had scented the she-cat before she came into view, and she glared at the IceClanner suspiciously, having already experienced a recent standoff with one such cat. Though his identity was irrelevant as Anemonemist no longer wanted to give him the mental satisfaction that she cared. Blinked at the she-cat who betrayed nothing but friendliness, the RockClan medicine cat was caught off guard. "Eh... I... see...." she said slowly and with a bit of an awkward tone. Pausing for a moment, she went on. "Who are you?" It was a simple question, not meant to be taken as a way of prying for information or something of the like. And she was fairly curious as to what cat in their IceClan mind would be so happy around a stranger.

Thank Cloudclan, she's not going to shred me quite yet! Petalfur thought, slowly approaching the boarder and sitting calmly, her aqua-green eyes trained steadily on the Rockclanner. "Petalfur," the Bengal responded simply. "And you?" Faintly, Petal thought she could smell the scent of herbs, but it could just be her imagination, or perhaps the breeze carrying in from camp.

The IceClanner casually got closer and sat down, obviously meaning she wanted to have an actual conversation and not just a passing of words. Anemonemist sighed, and then went and sat down across from her. "My name is Anemonemist." She said. Recently she had been against telling cats right away she was the medicine cat, for it felt like she was waving that title around and bragging. Of course, if that cat asked about her activities, she would explain her work cleaning out the herb storage and checking over each leaf. It wasn't like she was hiding it. Simply not flaunting herself. "It's... nice to meet you, Petalfur."

The Bengal could almost hear the disappointment in Anemonemist's voice. "And you," Petal responded, her smile wavering at the slight sigh she heard from the other cat. "Care to tell me why you're not in the middle of a hissy-fit at just seeing rival clan cat like all other Rockclanners I've met?" With that question, Petalfur was able to deepen her smile. She didn't mean to be offensive, she just thought that, as the name suggested, all Rockclanners were hardheaded.

Anemonemist bristled at the comment. But it was understandable. A cat alongside enemy borders was considered just that--an enemy. Suspicion and loyalty played a key factor when addressing an outside, or, Anemonemist assumed for Clan cats it was. Suspicion for what the cat could be doing, though most of the time just harmless staring. And loyalty to defend and make an image for their Clan. "IceClanners are just as prone to 'hissy-fits' as anyone." countered the speckled she-cat, giving a soft huff of frustration. "And maybe if I was a warrior I would be in that category, no matter how idiotic it sounds. But I'm not and don't care about you sitting over there, just as long as you remain on your side."
{ little late, sorry! have been more focused on my other accounts! }

Grinning softly despite what Petalfur detected as hostility, the Bengal warrior nodded, her interest peaking when Annemonemist mentioned that she wasn't a warrior. "Not a warrior, eh?" Petalfur inquired harmlessly, ignoring the comment about Iceclanner's own attitude, though she would agree in most other cases. "Are you a queen?- no, medicine cat?"

Anemonemist sighed at the prying, though it was understandable. "Medicine cat. I'd never find myself raising kits. They're too... disorganized." That was a very big word to describe her annoyance towards kids. Sure, they could be cute and fluffy at times. But just like she considered apprentices stupid and warriors arrogant--going upon that fact that she'd met less than a pawful of each rank--kits were labeled as outright frustrating. Perhaps that was one reason why she decided to devote her life to herbs instead of hunting and fighting... Anemonemist didn't want to deal with little bugs clinging to her fur. Maybe someday if fate decided to hate her....
Oh. And now it seemed she had a question to ask for conversation. Wonderful. "Do you have any kits?" Hopefully that wouldn't be prying too much. Anemonemist was only just curious.

Petalfur nodded, intrigued and instantly more respectful. She had a passion for respecting her superiors, and Anemonemist was no exception. Petalfur had only once considered being a medicine cat, but she was love-struck by her now-former mate, Ashfrost, and later bore his kits, crushing those so-called dreams. Alas, the Anemonemist inquired about whether she had kits or not. Smiling at the irony, Petalfur nodded, thinking about all of them. "Yes, eight of them," Petalfur responded. "I totally agree on the disorganized part! They can't sit still long enough for me to double count!" Smiling despite herself, Petalfur sat patiently, not really sure what to ask about next.

Anemonemist's eyes widened slightly in response of Petalfur's answer, stating she had eight little disorganized balls of fur running around. It surprised her, but she supposed it wasn't near the number Clan Queens could pop out. "You certainly have your work cut out for you, Petalfur. I could never see myself bearing one kit, and especially not eight...." The speckled healer gave her head a tilt, now gaining a bit of respect for the she-cat.

"Well, I suppose you're lucky, then, considering your job!" Petalfur responded, reflecting the medicine cat's sight smile. She couldn't bare the idea of being withheld from not being able to continue her line and see her kits grow up into independent warriors. She couldn't see herself having to hold herself back from love. But she realized then that it might have been rude to point that out - Anemonemist could have been lying about not wanting kits, couldn't she? - and so she began shifting her weight, her smile fading. "Sorry, that was rude."
