( Victor ) Dewpaw was once again laying down in her nest in the den where the apprentices dwelled, but instead of in the normal curled up comfortable position, she was laying on her back, trying to reach her tail with one paw, tilting her head upwards a bit in order to properly see as she did the strange playful procedure. She really was not that amused, however, as the old restless feeling nagged at her again, and unleashed and held back energy almost felt like it was tingling in her paws. She thought she had escaped the restless feeling once leaving the nursery, and beginning her experience in the rank of apprentice, but it once again was a nagging constant at the time, which made things quite unpleasant, and annoying.
The apprentice felt the need to go outside and do something, as her mood was rather grumpy, or at least, not in the best disposition. She would favor company, but most of the apprentices seemed to be busy or occupied, or in states where she didn't have the courage to disturb them, for she felt quite unfamiliar in the den still. Dewpaw decided that laying around in the nest with the materials of it poking into her fur uncomfortably no longer had any appeal to it, and with a defiant and determined flick of her tail, she rolled over with the goal of landing on her paws, a small and wild purr escaping her at the strange feeling of testing her flexibility. The small cat rolled out of her nest, and onto her paws, and feeling satisfied by that moment, she padded towards the entrance of the den. Before leaving or doing anything, however, she peered around curiously, then outside of the den, wondering in slight hope if any other cats were nearby or approaching.

After a hard day of training, a certain apprentice was not ready to sleep. Fernpaw's light footsteps echoed throughout the den, and she paused, green gaze running across the apprentice den. She had just caught and killed her first mouse and the adrenaline rush she felt was not stopping. Nothing caught her interest and she pranced over to her den, flipping it over multiple times before laying down and stretching. She ended up stretched out on her stomach, cheek on the ground, spread out to catch the warmth of the leaf-bare sun. She flicked an ear and struggled back to her paws, now a little drowsy but nice, warm and content. A curious grin spread across the feline's face and she decided to look for another cat to play with.
The young apprentice's paws carried her to the den's entrance, where she immediately backtracked to her den. This time she took control of her feet and she sauntered over to the center of the den, where all the older apprentices slept, and poked around. She found a little bug and squinted at it, until it jumped way up high, behind her. A tiny shriek escaped her maw and she jumped onto it, pinning and squishing it. Pleased, she looked up to see another bored-looking apprentice near the entrance of the den, just exiting. Excited, Fernpaw bounded forward, exiting after the other cat and grinning at it. "Hullo! I'm so terribly bored that I saw you and thought you were bored so I followed you and look where we are now that's right talking to each other hahahahaha~!" she gabbled, then smiled slightly. "Sorry, I'm excited. I'm Fernpaw, pleased to meet you." she said with more formality, giving the opposite cat a wink.

Dewpaw had noticed another cat prancing about in the den recently after entering, but she had stayed silent, watching the other apprentice's movements with interest, wondering why the other cat seemed so excitable, and lively. It was a bit pleasant, though, and the cheeriness helped the atmosphere. She soon turned her head away, though, peering in another direction, knowing that perhaps it wasn't her place or the right opportunity to exactly converse with any of other apprentices at the moment. With a melodramatic flick of her tail and ears, the young apprentice began to close her eyes, she suddenly felt a presence surprisingly close to her, and her eyes shot open. She found that another cat was grinning at her, the excitable apprentice from before. Dewpaw's eyes widened, and a burst of excitement shot through her, as she hadn't expected to be able to talk to any other apprentices, let alone any approach her.
She blinked and dipped her head, however, when the other apprentice chirped a greeting, but was surprised when the other one kept chattering on for a moment, and repressed a purr of amusement. She nodded when the other one introduced herself as Fernpaw, then smirked a bit as she saw the wink. "Nice to meet you too, I'm Dewpaw!" She spoke rather in a rather cheerful tone, quite cheered by the other one's visit already. "Why're you excited?" She asked curiously, tilting her head a bit, as she indeed wondered what could cause such excitement.

Fernpaw's bright gaze hovered over the other cat, then swooped around and scanning the camp. "Dewpaw! Nice name!" she chirped, flicking her tail and testing out the name on her tongue. "Dewpaw. Dewpaw. Ok, Dewpaw!" The apprentice grinned and laughed a bit, hopping up and down on her paws. "Me? I'm excited because I saw you! Or maybe because I caught my first mouse! Or maybe because I'm an apprentice!" the feline purred wildly, standing on her haunches and batting the air. Fernpaw dropped back down and flashed a grin in the other cat's direction, bouncing again. "So why are you out here?"

Dewpaw had to grin a bit at the other cat as Fernpaw started to meow quite enthusiastically again. The other cats cheerful mood and exterior certainly seemed to catch, as she felt her mood lightened a bit as well, since it was quite easy with this cat to be so cheery as well. She felt the familiar pride at her name being complimented in such was. Of course, it wasn't much surprise, since Dewpaw was indeed an excellent and lovely name, but it still felt quite nice when it was complimented in such a way. As she was used to, she dipped her head a bit, then meowed back in a cheery tone. "Thanks! Yours is nice too." She felt it only polite to compliment in return, though it was true that Ferpaw was quite the nice name. When the apprentice excitedly stated her reasons for being in such a state, she was surprised that one of the reasons was seeing her, for she wouldn't think that meeting one such as herself wouldn't be all too thrilling.
The young cat's ears pricked with interest, however, when the cat mentioned another reason being that she had caught her first mouse. "You caught your first mouse? What was that like?" She asked eagerly, peering at the other apprentice with more curiosity now, and respect. She flicked her tail in slight dismissal, however, to the question that would no doubt not get a very interesting answer. She hadn't had many activities to brag or be excited about much lately, after all. "I was just going to get some fresh air, and stretch my paws a bit. I haven't had training today, and I'm... not much use for patrolling." Dewpaw's ears went against her head a bit as she said this, for she didn't like admitting that she perhaps didn't have the skills yet for a proper patrol. "...Yet." She decided to add with a little determination, for she was sure one day she would be skilled and ready for such activities to help serve the Clan. She looked back at Fernpaw expectantly, for she was quite curious to hear more about the hunting experience, rather then her sulky comments about her inability to do certain tasks yet.

Fernpaw grinned as she watched Dewpaw begin to smile. "Thank you! Yours is better, but neither of our names are suited to FireClan.." the apprentice trailed off, watching a leaf float in the wind. When Dewpaw asked the question, she immediately sprung to her paws. "Yeah! It was so cool! You have to crouch, and be really quiet, like you're sneaking out of camp or something like that, not that I'd know, and then you've gotta spring real far and land on wherever you want perfectly and then bite its neck or spine or something to kill it instantly." she said, out of breath and panting. Fernpaw tilted her head when the other apprentice began to smoothly reply. "Patrolling? I've never been on one of those." she admitted, then grinned. "Yeah! We're gonna become great warriors, you and I! We'll lead all the patrols and catch all the mice!" she proclaimed, basically shouting. Fernpaw danced around a little, before smirking again. "Why don't I show you how to battle?" she suggested, mimicking swiping another cat's face with her paws.

(Gah, Fernpaw is so adorable... lovely post! I'm sorry for the kind of late reply. xD ) Dewpaw nodded thoughtfully, supposing Fernpaw was right about neither of their names really be suiting to FireClan. It was a bit of a disturbing thought, actually, since she always want her name to honor FireClan, and knowing that it didn't exactly fit wasn't too pleasant to realize. She shrugged that off, however, and rather forced a grin as she meowed. "Well, they're both fabulous anyways, right?" She followed the other apprentice's gaze to a drifting leaf, and watched it too for a moment, before her gaze immediately snapped back to Fernpaw when the other one sprang to her paws. She listened eagerly as the other one explained breathlessly how to catch a mouse like that, or any kind of prey, and her eyes widened. She had never been told such information, and she was fascinated, imagining the motions in her mind, and her possibly doing so.
It was amazing to picture, and she was sure with refined practice, perhaps she would be able to do so herself someday, though it would undoubtedly be a while. It was unsatisfying that she herself didn't know how to hunt properly, but she could still be enthusiastic for the other apprentice. "Wow, that sounds hard! But it's impressive that you were able to do so. I don't know how to do that yet." She admitted this with slightly lowered ears, but then perked up again for Fernpaw's sake, and she didn't want to sulk much. She was a bit surprised the other apprentice didn't know what patrolling was, and hadn't gone on one yet, but it was a bit assuring that this was so. "You go with other cats in.. patrols in order to check the borders to make sure there are no trespassers, and to also hunt for the whole Clan. It'd be an honor to go on patrols, or lead one." The young cat explained with some vigor, actually proud to be the knowledgeable one to explain things. She purred at the other one's declaration, and nodded eagerly. "You bet we will be, we'll be the best warriors and leaders of patrols!"
The notion was warming to say, and she also felt very close to the other one as she said this, for she knew this was in a way affirming a friendship, which was an honor and a delight in itself. She let out a small gasp when Fernpaw suggested how to battle, and she leaned back a bit as a cautionary action in order to avoid the swipe. She was excited about such a prospect, and also a bit wary. She only let out her battling and wild instincts when she felt she was in danger, or her instincts dictated her to fight. When just doing it for practice... it would be strange to hold herself back in such a way, and she also wondered if she would have any kind of battle skill aside from her raw instincts. But she nodded, figuring that it would be worth it to have any kind of battling knowledge for now. "Sure!" She nodded and chirped in an eager tone, mimicking Fernpaw's swiping motion at the other one's paw with sheathed claws.

Fernpaw nodded eagerly. "Oh, for sure! Fernpaw and Dewpaw? They're both amazing names! I couldn't agree more!" she agreed, the feline's paws twitching. "I could teach you! Or maybe we could have a training session together! Who's your mentor?" Listening intently as Dewpaw explained about patrolling, she imagined going out with all her friends and was immediately excited even further, if that was possible. Hunting for the whole Clan and having fun? Yes! Grinning widely, she opened her mouth and said whatever was on her mind. "Hey, I know! We should go on a hunt together later! Fernpaw said, then jerked back as Dewpaw swiped at her. "Oh no you don't!" she said, running up and bowling her friend over.

(oh, it's alright dear, I hope that illness goes away soon, and that you feel better. I am sorry for the late reply too.) Dewpaw's whiskers twitched and her eyes widened excitedly and thoughtfully at the thought of Fernpaw teaching her how to do such a thing. She did have a bit of pride about the matter, and wanted to either learn the technique for herself so she could proudly serve her clan in such a way even with self learning, or the proper way with her mentor teaching her. It did not blind her from seeing the opportunity, however, and it would be an honor to learn the technique of how to catch a mouse in any way, and it wouldn't be dishonoring to her mentor, for she would undoubtedly still have much to learn still, and it would merely be something that perhaps wouldn't be an extra burden to teach her. "It would be amazing to learn it! But I wouldn't want to bother you with teaching such a thing,"
She meowed with a purr of eagerness, but flicked her tail when she also expressed caution about it, for she indeed wanted to be polite about the whole matter, for the excitement of perhaps learning the technique restrained her eagerness about the matter quite a bit. She tilted her head, however, at the second statement, or she was not sure how they could have a training session together, or if it would be possible. "That would be nice... my mentor is Hazelclaw." She stated her mentor's name empathetically, and blinked when thinking about her respected mentor, who she assumed might not appreciate the process of a shared training session, but it depended on what the procedure was. "Who's your mentor?" She questioned curiously, wondering genuinely who taught the other apprentice.
She pricked her ears when Fernpaw suggested going on a hunt together later, and her eyes lit up, though she stayed hesitant, and a bit ashamed about the prospect. She didn't know how to hunt, and how much of a shame it would be to reject a chance to hunt for the entire clan with another. "I would love to, but I... don't have much hunting experience yet." Dewpaw spoke tactfully, for it felt like a better way to voice the inquiry. She was surprised and let out a small screech when Fernpaw rushed at her to bowl her over, and it was such a fast attack, that she was surprised, but let out a purr at the playful manner of the attack. "I will not surrender or be defeated easily!" She warned playfully in a pleasant tone, instinctively reaching up with her back paws to try to push the other one over and off of her, and hopefully she would be strong enough to be able to so.
