ADDERVENOM OF ICECLAN

With Robinstar and Sunfish both occupied that day, Addervenom had taken up the role of ceremony-giving. He climbed up to the announcement ledge with minor difficulty, then let out a yowl to gather the cats below.


"Today we have several young cats who have reached the age of six moons. By naming these apprentices, we show that IceClan will survive and remain strong…

Sunkit, from now on you shall be known as Sunpaw. Vinewhip is ready for an apprentice and will mentor him.

Cinnamonkit, from now on you shall be known as Cinnamonpaw. Vinewhip is ready for another apprentice and will mentor him.

Whitekit, from now on you shall be known as Whitepaw. I am ready for an apprentice and will mentor him.

Harmonykit, from now on you shall be known as Harmonypaw. I am ready for another apprentice and will mentor her.

Tangledkit, from now on you shall be known as Tangledpaw. Snowfall is ready for an apprentice and will mentor her.

Stormpaw, for whatever reason, Cloudspirit is no longer able to train you. Snowfall is ready for another apprentice and will mentor him."


With that, the medicine cat hopped back down to the ground and approached his new trainees. "Whitepaw, Harmonypaw - why don't you go settle into the apprentices' den? We start tomorrow," he meowed curtly.

It was a lovely surprise when Cinnamonkit heard a Clan meeting starting. He eagerly trotted over to sit amongst the crowd, despite not technically being old enough to attend these. Nobody ever really stopped kittens from doing so… and he wanted to hear what was happening, besides.

The youngster's ears perked up in surprise once the apprentice ceremonies were being listed. And his name had been called! Cinnamonpaw was excited and nervous all at the same time; two of his friends were now apprentices as well. Rather than searching for Whitepaw or Harmonypaw amongst the other cats, however, Cinnamon started looking around for his new mentor.

MAPLEFROST OF ICECLAN

Maplefrost was lounging in camp that afternoon, soaking up some sunlight outside the elders' den. The calico perked up slightly when Addervenom called for everyone to gather - that was odd; usually it was Sunfish or Robinstar who announced things. He just shrugged to himself and meandered over towards the edge of the group.

"Sunpaw, Cinnamonpaw, Whitepaw, Harmonypaw, Tangledpaw, Stormpaw!" he cheered for the apprentices as the ceremonies came to a close. It had been a while since he'd last been at a ceremony, with the most recent being Dappledleaf's warrior ceremony before she became a queen, so he'd have to make an effort to attend more often.

[Rosepaw]

Rosepaw bounced happily over to join the event. He grinned in delight; he was going to have a bunch of new denmates again! The pale, patched tom chorused, "Sunpaw! Cinnamonpaw! Whitepaw! Harmonypaw! Tangledpaw! Stormpaw!" He wondered when he would be able to meet all of them, excited at the prospect of possibly gaining new friends.

[Mallowpaw]

Mallowpaw narrowed his eyes, pristine white fur fluffing out in minute agitation. His pale eyes studied the faces of the new apprentices, apprehensive of the fact that he was going to have to share the Apprentices' den with more cats. Mallow wasn't unfriendly at all though guarded, so it was definitely going to be interesting to see how things unfold as the newcomers settle in. He chanted with the rest of the clan, low voice drowned out by far more cheerful yowls.

As Stormpaw cried out for his new denmates a pleasurable feeling ran down his spine and a smile played on his lips. He shook out his pelt as he walked up to his new mentor and touched noses with the warrior. Stormpaw was much bigger than the other apprintices who had been given mentors today, but his old me it's had to leave him. He was old enough to be a warrior but needed to finish up the last bit of his training. He knew that his new me it's would do a great job.

After touching noses with his mentor, he walked over to the other apprintices and greeted them with a warm smile. "Hey! I'm Stormpaw" he introduced. "What's your names?" he hoped to make new friends. He needed some new ones, the old ones he once had had all passed him up and were now warriors anyways.

Rosekit trembled as she watched the apprentices receive their mentors and touch noses with them. She danced around on her toes, to excited to sit still, knowing her own mother probably couldn't even make her sit still. She would be there soon! She really would and she couldn't believe it. Oh, how excited she was.

"Stormpaw! Sunpaw! Whitepaw! Harmonypaw!" Rosekit yelled with enthusiasm.

She remembered that she had only just talked to Harmonypaw the other day, when she was a kit. She couldn't beloved the other cat was not an apprentice. But she just knew she would be there so soon. So she hung on to that.

"Congratulations!" Rosekit smiled.
