FirebirdThunderfox padded into the Warriors' den after resting outside the camp. He wondered when his other siblings would be warriors. He didn't know them that well, but he did know his parents, Foxclaw and Firebird. But he didn't know Firebird that well. 'You'll meet her some time.' He thought softly to himself as he padded right into someone. "Oh Cloudclan im sorry!" He meowed apologizingly as he rose after falling to the ground. He looked at the she cat feeling as though she looked familiar.

Firebird squeaked in alarm as someone bumped into her, and her mossy green eyes met a familiar face. "Oh! Thunderfox!" she meowed in surprise, and then instantly felt a thorn of guilt stab her heart. She loved all her kits with all she had, but a part of her has stepped back when they began to grow up, whether from sadness or just wondering if they didn't want their mother around anymore. Did her kits even recognize her anymore? What about Foxclaw? "I... I hope you're doing well."

"Im doing quite fine." He meowed kindly to his mother. Sure he hadn't seen her in moons but that was no excuse to not remember her. Anyways Foxclaw always brought up that he had his mother's pelt. And oh Cloudclan indeed he did have his moms ginger pelt. "How are you Firebird? I haven't seen you since I became an Apprentice." He asked.

Firebird was smiling, despite the fact she felt a little disheartened her referred to her by her name instead of his mother. Didn't kits call their parents 'Mom' and 'Dad' anymore? The ginger warrior quickly shook off any sadness, silently telling herself it was her own fault for neglected her kits for so long. "I've been doing fantastic. I've run into an old friend--your uncle Speckheart, your father's brother. And Moonfur, your former mentor, is actually my sister, so that would make her your aunt." She hoped Thunderfox was happy to learn he had more family in FireClan. Maybe he wouldn't feel so disconnected to his kin by knowing them.

His eyes brightened at the knowledge about his kin. He didnt know this Speckheart but knew that they were related. Maybe he would run into him, not litarrly, but it'd be nice to meet a Father's brother, well Foxclaw. "Thats amazing maybe I can meet Speckheart some time." He meowed in a happy tone.
When his mother mentioned Moonfur, his tail made a little twitch of excitement. "She was an amazing mentor for sure, so that means she must be an even more amazing aunt!" He meowed happily with a little laugh.

Firebird nodded. "You'll really like him. Speckheart was my best friend growing up, along with Foxclaw." she purred. "And I'm glad Moonfur was a good mentor to you. At least you had some kin as you grew up beside you...." the ginger warrior trailed off, biting her lip now at the words she wanted to say. Would Thunderfox even forgive her? "Thunderfox, I... I'm sorry for never being a familiar face in your life. I'm... I'm sorry I wasn't always there for you. I-I honestly thought you would grow up better without a nagging mother over your shoulder. But... now I wish I had spent all those moons being that nagging mother. You've turned out to be a brave and courageous warrior I am proud to call my son, and yet I've neglected to even talk to you. I always wanted to be a mother, and yet when I had the chance, I let it go to my head you'd be better off without me there. When some kits don't have two parents, you do, and yet I wasn't even around to be that parent in your life besides when you were younger. I'm so sorry... I... I shouldn't have...." Her bottom lip quivered just the slightest.

"Mom. Its fine. Dont beat yourself up about it." He meowed calmly pressing his nose to her shoulder trying to comfort her and stop her quivering lip. "Mom, were both warriors now and we have a whole life ahead of us. Our whole family can hang out together." He paused for a moment. "Just dont cry, you were and still are an amazing mother. I dont know what I'd be like if you were a nagging mother." He stopped again. 'Id be like Featherpaw.' He wanted to mutter but then said with a laugh. "I'd be a grumpy Thunder."

Firebird couldn't help but laugh softly at his last words, feeling her heart softened as he called her "Mom" again. Her little Thunder was still there. Her sweet and brave little Thunder. "Oh Thunderfox, you've grown into such an amazing warrior. You couldn't have turned out any better...." she said with a small sniff, trying to stop the tears, despite them being from happiness now. "Thank you, little Thundermuffin(>:3). I really do love you." she purred.

"Thank you." He replied kindly. Thunder felt over joyed to see his mom happy. "I love you too mom." He purred in reply. He had another nickname now. But he liked this one alot. There was Thundy, Thundermuffin, Thunderbutt, and a couple others. Over all he thought Thundermuffin, was the best.

Firebird smiled widely at that and then turned to look at the sky. It seemed to be getting darker. Almost time to sleep. "So, anything else in you're life interesting?" she asked, leaning forward slightly. "Perhaps any ideal crushes?" And then she laughed childishly after that at her light poking. "I'm just teasing you, don't worry. You have plenty of time to find someone."

Hr laughed softly at the joke. Well there was Birdpaw, but I haven't seen her in forever. And I don't know, I think my apprentice likes me. He admitted. It was true, just the other day, he was told by her that she enjoyed training with him and that she thought he was the best tom ever. He even heard her mutter 'hes handsome.' On the first day.

Firebird snickered lightly at that. "Well, this apprentice better be a good she-cat." she threatened playfully in a joking manner.

Thunderfox laughed softly at his moms joke and looked kindly to her. "She will be."
