Tidepaw sat upright in his bed of moss. His gaze trained on a particular dying blade of grass that was swinging to and fro in the brisk wind. One could see how frail it was, how it was just about to snap and die forever. At least it took longer for a cat to grow to that frail age and be breakable by only a gust of wind.
Breaking his gaze he shook himself out of it. Knowledge of things he should have never figured out were weighing on his mind and making it feel as if all of the world was on his shoulders. Or at least the bit of world that would be affect by the information. Somehow, the dead had been able to walk with the living during the last moon's cycle. He did not know how, nor he did not know why. Nor did he know why his leader had taken another cats life. But his biggest fear is what he would do with it.
The apprentice had been drug so far into his own self conscience that he had barely noticed another apprentice right beside him. That was before he was tapped on the shoulder and only leapt out of his pelt.

Dewpaw was laying in her nest, her eyes half closed, as she had spent some of the evening this way. She had awoken recently, still feeling groggy because of this. Lately the days had been rather routine, and actually predictable. It was surprising to her, and she didn't like it, almost as much as she didn't really like change. Training sessions still occurred, but when they did not during certain days. During these days, she found herself longing to do something, be it attempt to hunt again, or perhaps make herself useful by cleaning nests, since she had not yet been able to be on any of the patrols, which was a bit vexing as well.
Now, however, she simply felt temporarily content with lying in her nest and relaxing, pondering things and situations over freely. She peered laxly around the whole den, wanting to see if any cat was there that she perhaps could talk to, and have some company during this time, which would be a pleasant contribution to the evening. She saw one apprentice, a tom, in a nest, yet did not appear to be asleep, instead he seemed to be staring at something. She had never conversed with or been too aware of this apprentice before, though he had the familiarity that all of her den-mates did, so she became a bit curious. She stood up, and padded a bit towards him, having a neutral expression, though soon it became a bit more friendly as she called out.
"Hello, there!" She meowed this in a bit of a playfully friendly way, for if her restlessness did not bring on sulky or negative moods, usually she felt prone to socialize in such a way. Dewpaw was puzzled, however, when the apprentice did not seem to respond, or at least was paying no attention to her.It was a bit irritating, to say the least, and also strange, for she was not sure the ignoring was on purpose or not. In order to see if this was so, she walked a few steps closer, and reached her paw out, hesitantly tapping the tom on the shoulder with it. "Hello?" She repeated herself with a bit of an annoyed tone, but was mostly just inquisitive and curious. When he appeared to be startled, she quickly drew back her paw, eyes widening. "Oh, I'm... sorry for startling you."

Slowly the ruddy brown tom let the air from his chest release, slowly billowing out a cloud of warm air as he did this. The cloud only stuck in the air for a few seconds before it all but dispersed into nothing. "By Cloudclan don't apologize," Tidepaw mewed, finally drawing his pale-yellow gaze over to the apprentice that was currently beside him. She looked almost as startled as he was. Maybe he was just a terrifying creature. And maybe it was his eyes. "I don't know what got into me..."
The two of them sat there for a minute, in an almost awkward silence while Tidepaw began to gather himself again. It seemed as if whenever he tried to focus on something he just lost control of reality and it took a good smack to the face to pull him back into the real world. "I'm Tidepaw by the way." He started, finally breaking through the silence. "You are?"

Dewpaw had felt a bit nervous about disturbing him, mostly by the way he reacted by it. But this initial feeling of surprise soon passed within moments, and she blinked as the tom spoke. For a little while she was silent, unsure how to respond, and feeling more discouraged by the almost awkward silence that continued for a few moments. She eventually managed to respond and gain back a calmer version of her previous disposition, so shook her head with a rueful manner. "Ah, no, don't worry about it. It's understandable to daydream sometimes.' She said this with a bit of a purr, finding the situation a bit amusing in a way mostly because of the awkwardness that had ensued.
She nodded, dipping her head a bit in a respectful manner. "I'm Dewpaw, pleased to meet you, Tidepaw." She tilted her head a bit, examining the other one closely as her gaze became a bit more serious. "You seem rather distracted though, Tidepaw. Is... something wrong?" Dewpaw asked in a careful yet still slightly concerned way. She was simply a bit naturally worried, since it was a clanmate in question, and she sensed that it seemed to be something more then daydreaming judging by the tom's actions and manner, though what it could be she didn't know, which evoked concern, as well as a bit of curiosity.

Tidepaw found himself daydreaming constantly. If it wasn't one thing it was another. In fact it was coming to the point where he was beginning to think it was some sort of disorder rather than his youth not wanting to go away. Although, this apprentice didn't seem to mind, she seemed to somewhat understand. Even if it was on a completely different level.
"Nice to meet you Dewpaw." He mewed, greeting her back and bringing up his pale-yellow gaze until it met her face. She was a prey tabby, white underbelly and tail tip; her eyes the color of the sky. "And don't worry about me, daydreaming is normal."
Getting to his paws again he lengthened his spine into a delicious stretch, letting his shoulders pull outward. A long sigh billowed from his chest before he spoke again, "So Dewpaw, what brings you into the apprentice den during the day."
