( for ;; Arrowstar ) It was night, the sun had all but fallen hours ago and the cricket's song had all but been ceased by the lack of warmth in the air and layer of white powder that had sent them all to a deep ... deep sleep. The Leafbare nights were always the quietest. It always almost eerie until you came to accept how peaceful it was. Till you came to accept how easily it could drive you insane.
At this point in the night Fadingnight was situated outside the warrior's den. Occasional wisps of clouded breath billowing out of her nose. Her pelt was thick and there was no wind, so she barely felt the cold. Only on the open areas of skin such as her paw pads and nose. Although she had lost all feeling in her ears.
Why was she out here? Why not sleeping?
Truth was, she could barely ever sleep. Four hours if she was lucky. Her dreams were to vivid and she had become accustomed to running off minimal hours. Only, it just so happened that tonight she wasn't alone.
"Can't sleep?" She mewed, pulling her gaze off silverpelt and refocusing on the tom beside her.

YOU'RE AN EYESORE. I CAN DO THIS. I padded back into camp, my tail swishing behind me. I had a tendency at night to go out and check the borders. I was so paranoid that we would get invaded. Most of my attention went to the FireClan border, something I did with, at least in my opinion, a good reason. You could never trust a FireClanner.
Just as I entered camp, I noticed that one of my warriors was sitting outside of the den. It's freezing. Either she's crazy or she can't sleep. I'll go with the former. I stopped beside her just as she spoke. "Not really. More like paranoia." I decided to sit, keeping a small space between us. "Why are you awake?"

The silver tabby shrugged, drawing her gaze away again and up towards the sky. "Dreams I guess."
Fadingnight had never been one with sharing her nightmares let alone anything about her life in particular. She more preferred to stay to herself and let her own problems be... well her own problems. This tom on the other hand, Arrowstrike, or more formally known as the deputy of Treeclan had everyone to worry about. So he had much more major issues on paw then she ever would. Her measly internal and the occasional external conflicts could never measure up to what the tom probably had to deal with on a daily basis.
"Let me guess... Iceclan wants to take the river for their own or... Rockclan wants a patch of forest so they can stop complaining about their paws being so sore." She mused, a slight flash of humor glinting in her amber gaze that would otherwise show absolutely no emotion.

YOU'RE AN EYESORE. I CAN DO THIS. I didn't prod her after she replied. I wouldn't want anyone to ask me about my dreams, unless they were close to me of course, but a stranger? I had never really even talked to the she-cat. Plus, if it was a dream about some huge situation, I did not want to be dragged into it. I had too much work to do as it was.
"Not those two, no. IceClan can probably drink the snow they get, and RockClan is too tiny to get more land." Did I really want to reveal why I had gone to check the borders so late at night? Probably not. But, I could at least say what clan I was keeping my eye on. "I was checking FireClan. You never know what they can do."

The she-cat felt a small stab once he mentioned the clan of half her origin. No one besides her mother, father, half-sister and best friend actually knew. So she wasn't afraid the deputy was aware unless he had picked up on her slim figure. Because when she did tell someone a secret of hers, she made sure they would never tell. "Not a big fan eh?" The tabby added, adding a fake spark of amusement to the amber spheres she knew as her eyes. It was almost entertaining how easy it was to perfectly mimic an emotion.
"Fadingnight by the way." She added, figuring he couldn't know all the names of his many ... many clan mates. Fadingnight her self had a hard time keeping track of them all. Then again, she would have to really care to be able to memorize them.

YOU'RE AN EYESORE. I CAN DO THIS. I shook my head, snorting. "Not at all." I guess you could say I had daddy issues since my father had been, at one point, the deputy of FireClan before retiring. He was the reason I hated FireClan. My mother and I had been living a peaceful life in TreeClan until she told me we were leaving TreeClan forever. I never wanted to leave TreeClan and my friends I had there, but I couldn't fight my mother. I was forced to go, and I blamed it all on Blackthorn. Besides, my mother was too in love with him to realize that he had an odd relationship with the previous clan medicine cat apprentice. I never liked either of them.
"Arrowstrike. I suppose you knew that, though." I meowed, nodding to her. I was still fairly new to TreeClan if you thought about it, but I was getting to know everyone slowly. "I assigned you an apprentice recently, correct? How is training going?"
