Sandstone lay in her nest waiting for Spruceclaw. She was so happy that they were both warriors. She loved Spruceclaw, he was her first love and he was her only one. She placed her head on the ground and slept waiting for Spruceclaws scent to flood her nose and wake her up. ( Spruceclaw) |

Spruceclaw entered the warriors den and now his new home. he looked for a place to make his nest . instantly he found it right next to sandstone his love. he padded over next to her and licked her between her ears. he fixed his nest and sat next to her. "Okay I'm here." he mewed quitely.

Sandstone woke up to Spruceclaws sweet smell. "Well we can be mates now." She purred and licked him softly on the side twinning her tail with his. She closed her eyes purring into his fur. "And then we can have kits some day." She meowed kindly. She got out of her nest and laid next to him resting her head on his back.
She then remembered the she-cat from Treeclan. Asterheart. "Also." She started sharply. "I dont want you seeing Asterheart any more. And dont say you havent been I can smell her on your fur." She said looking at him seriously. She looked down at her paws. "I dont mean to be harsh....but when i first saw you and her....i felt like...like you loved her. Like you'd be mates with her...not me" She said and her thoughts growled at her. 'Your being to desperate!' She looked down at her paws again getting up and padding to her nest. "Sorry." She turned and faced away from him curled in a ball trying to sleep. She felt awful. She felt like a nagging mate that all males hated. She dug her claws into the ground and the nest.

Spruceclaw purred and leaned into her touch. "Id love too." He purred giving her an affectionate lick. he leaned against her annd scooted over to make room for her in his nest.
He listened to her speek. he froze as she mentioned asterheart. he knew she could smell her even before she said she could. although she was his friend his best friend ,besides maybe frostpaw, he hadn't done anything with her only met on the border as best friends. Its true he had something for her once and he loved her it was true but not as mates it couldn't have worked anyways.
"I will continue to see aster." He mewed angrily. "I love you and only you but aster is my friend my best friends besides frosty." he mewed grumpily. "Listen I'm sorry i shouldn't have snapped but I'm gonna continue seeing aster. However you have nothing to worry about were friends." he said sighing.

Sandstone looked at him with an upset look and growled. "Then I dont know if....." She began but then stopped as she ran through the hole in the warriors den. Her eyes welling with tears, her claws tearing through the ground. She leapt between the two boulders and climbed into the crevice. Her eyes darkened as she stalked into a small den after concealing her scent. She knew he'd never find her. She clawed against the wall her claws making a dreadful should that peirced her ears. She then dug at the dirt making a nest of dirt. She scrapped some of it on her and concealed herself.

He scrambled after her coming out of the warriors den only a few seconds behind her. However a few second was all she needed. as he emerged he couldn't see her anywhere. he saw her paw prints but not her scent. "Sandy! sandy!" he yelled looking for her everywhere. he knew he couldn't find her so he sat at the entrance of the warriors den and waited for her. he decided now to set his vigil no matter how long it takes to for her to show herself hed see her eventually.

Sandstone yowled in pain when a rat jumped on her back but she killed it right away before it could bite her. She shut her mouth thinking that she was going to found. She had thought Spruceclaw had heard her. Probably all the clan.
She rested her head on her paws and fell straight asleep knowing no one would miss her. Suddenly a hissing sound accrued. She saw another rate that looked agree. She killed that one as well. She yowled as she felt her heart break. She had most likely lost her only chance of love.

Spruceclaw heard a yowl and knew it was a yowl of sorrow. he followed the sound to a crevice where he found his love curled asleep. he said nothing but he dragged the rats away and curled up newt to her wrapping his tail around her. as she slept.

She felt Spruceclaw wrap his tail around her and hissed. Getting up and looking at him with a narrowed look. "What are you doing here?" She sneered still upset. She let the fur on her back shoot up in anger.

"I'm loving you and you'll have to kill me to make me leave. what did i say to make you so mad?" He asked curiosly. he sat and let a blank look come over his eyes.

She narrowed her eyes. "Spruceclaw, your still in love with Asterheart and you know it." She said a little harshly. Her claws dug into the ground and she flung some dirt away revealing a small scrawny bird that she had killed earlier.

She dug her claws into the pathetic bird. "Still...I'm positive that she's still going try to steal you from me." Sandstone meowed harshly. "You know I hate her." She grumbled. "I love you, but I'm not sure you understand." She meowed.

"She wouldn't do that." He said positively " even if she wanted to she loves and respects me enough not to do it. plus she knows you'd rip her to pieces." He added the last part good in good humor. "You know i think you'd get along if you'd give her a chance." He said he knew aster already wished they could get along "i love you too." Spruceclaw mewed lickiklng her on the shoulder

She shook her head. "I dont believe i will be able to trust her." She meowed a little unhappy. She licked him back and closed her eyes. "Asterheart.....I never want to say her name again....or hear it." She meowed. She didnt like her and she never would. And she'd kill her and rip her to shreds.
