It had been a long time since the brown tabby tom had walked around the Rockclan camp with confidence. For the past few moons he had spent his time in the shadows. His mate had disappeared and he had no other friends... What had happened? How was he even able to grow up like this? Well it was his fault most likely. He hadnʻt made the effort to meet anyone else and now he was paying for it. Maybe luck would be on his side today.
Ripplefur padded out of the warriors den. His brown tabby fur shown brightly against the soft blanket of snow that lay on the camp. For whatever reason, the camp was somewhat deserted. Well, that wasnʻt unusual. Even with the new queens, there was still a lack in kits. It was good to see some new faces he had never seen before though. He continued to walk until he found a rock with some sun shining on it. He settled himself down and lifted his head, looking around for any sign of another free cat. Perhaps they could go hunting. Or just talk. Whatever it was, he just wanted to meet someone new.

As I sat under the shade of a pitiful-looking spruce tree, I felt a last falling leaf float near my front paw. Some of the trees were still reluctant to lose hold of their grip on the leaves they held in the harshest months of leaf-bare, where the cold would coat all of the fallen leaves and dust the territory with frost. There weren't that many cats in camp: just a few out and about, doing their duties as a warrior, apprentice, queen, or kit. I felt myself starting to hunch over, but straightened myself up and dragged my paw through a nearby drift of snow absentmindedly. However, I had something to wake me from my melancholy attitude. A warrior had wandered nearby, someone I had not met before. I would prefer meeting someone new to the somber contemplation of leaf-bare. Straightening myself, I walked over, and said simply, "Hello."

Ripplefur hadnʻt the slightest thought that someone would actually approach him. He had just expected the day to be as lonely as every day before. But when another warrior, she cat, appeared and walked towards him, he felt slightly pleased. When the she cat opened her muzzle and spoke he suddenly became really nervous. What was he thinking? He wasnʻt ready for talking to some else yet. Oh great Cloudclan, what to do? H-Hi, ah... Hey there. He mewed softly, looking down at his paws.

I nodded at his greeting, though I decided not to acknowledge his apparent shyness when I spoke again. "The weather's getting rather blustery, isn't it? I'm Dapplecloud, by the way." I said, letting my brush-like tail flick once. It was sunny, though that didn't mean that it wasn't cold, and there wasn't CloudClan-forsaken snow everywhere. Though sometimes talking with your Clanmates could alleviate some of the somberness and algidity of the current conditions.

Ripplefur gave the she cat a small smile. Why it was so hard for him to talk to other cats. He felt so awkward being nervous around his own clan mate. Releasing a small chuckle, he replied I would rather do without this weather, but itʻs not our call is it? What else was he suppose to say? Ah well. Oh um... Itʻs a pleasure to meet you Dapplecloud. My name is Ripplefur. His name seemed to taste bitter on his own tongue. He hadnʻt spoken it in a long while. Then again, no one really cared to hear his name, or meet him.
The tom pushed himself up onto his haunches and dipped his head to greet the she cat properly. He lifted his paw and shook off a small clump of snow that clung to his fur. He watched it fly through the air and land on the she cat. He flinched back and gave a soft wince. Oh ah, My apologies Dapplecloud. Mewed the tom, looking down at his paws.

Though surprised at the sudden sensation of cold on my left whiskers, I was not exasperated, and simple shook the frost off with a twitch. "No need to apologize. When it's leaf-bare, we all get the snow on our pelts sometime." I said evenly. "And of course we can't control the weather, though it would be incredibly convenient if we could." I added with a light purr.
[sorry for the lazy post]
