Noelle's head pulsed with each aching throb. Her migraine was ferocious, and the seventh year utterly detested it. She had the migraine for three days so far, and by far, it was truly the worst head-ache she'd had since she was nine. It was vibrating through her skull, making the dark-haired girl grit her teeth and clench her jaw stubbornly. By Merlin, it hurt! A groan escaped her, and she connected her head gently with the cool, dark wood of the bookcase in front of her.
Leaning back again, her vision blurred slightly as tears of pain trembled in her tear sockets. She was taking deep breaths, trying to make the migraine to go away. Noelle took each measured breath and slowly counted in her mind, 'One. Two. Three. Four.' Yet no matter what, it wouldn't go away. What would make it go away? Her vision swam for a moment, and Noelle thought she was going to collapse from exhaustion. Then it sharpened and she glanced up at the books in front of her face. It was time for her to look for an answer to why she was having these disturbing, terrifying dreams.
Noelle felt like her skin was on fire. Her fingers ached to scratch at the burning sensation, and idly, Noelle wondered if she was sick. Was she getting ill? Or was it something else? Something more.. threatening? Noelle inhaled shakily, running a hand through her dark hair and making her eyes roam over the books thoughtlessly. Once again, Noelle rested her forehead against the cool wood, a fierce relief from the aching hotness she felt burn across her face. A fever maybe?
The seventh year Gryffindor's short form trembled slightly under the pressure of both her migraine and what seemed like a fever. What was going on? Why had she been feeling so.. so ill lately? Noelle took another deep breath, trying to calm her rapidly increasing heart beat. Her pale fingers shakily stroked a spine of a book, trying to stop herself from falling into an exhausted unconsciousness. Her dreams lately, the nightmares she's always had since the fire, had become something else. For a moment, Noelle felt the overwhelming urge to slip into unconsciousness, and she almost did.
Dark figures slid from shadow to shadow- Noelle was forcefully jolted back to the present, fear welling up like a knot in her throat. Something was wrong with her. Something not right. Noelle was so confused and afraid she often felt herself slipping from the reality she was in and into a dream-like state where she would start to see things she shouldn't. Swallowing ferociously, Noelle stroked the spine of Dark Dreams: The Beginning and concentrated on the fact that she might find some info on what she was dreaming about. Once more though, her vision darkened slightly and Noelle slipped into the dream world briefly. Shadows writhed and screamed and blazed like a hot, twisting pillar of fire-
Noelle let out a rasping sob, her slowly widening eyes becoming slightly glazed over. Oh god, she was scared. Oh god. Oh god. Her vision blurred again as the tears welled up once more. She began to tremble, as if she was going to faint, but the tears were streaking silently down her face as she laid her forehead against the blessedly cool wood of the bookshelf for the third time that evening. What was going on? Noelle felt very suspicious of the symptoms she was showing, and was utterly terrified that she might be going insane.
The seventh year was tired. Oh so tired. She just wanted to lay down and sleep. But she couldn't, oh she couldn't. She couldn't face the accusing stares of the children that had died screaming in the fire that had happened six years ago. For a moment, Noelle thought she felt something brush against her neck, but she swatted the thought aside as she focused in on her problems. With her tiredness, one of her arms was touching the spine of a book limply.
Then she really did feel something touch her neck. Oddly enough, it felt like a finger. Confused and slightly delusional, Noelle felt a paranoid fear well up in her. Stifling an exhausted yawn, Noelle tried to brush the finger away, but was slightly startled when she felt nothing there. A hot breath on her neck, and Noelle stiffened. Raw fear coursed through her. Oh god please don't let this be what I think it is!
There was a hand on her shoulder and another shot of adrenaline-filled fear blazed through her veins, igniting the terror that lurked beneath. Oh god oh god stop it! Stop it! Her mind screamed at her, and for another, heart-throbbing moment of shrill terror, her vision blacked and she began to hear things that shouldn't be real. Her hands clawed into the wood deeper, and Noelle gave a soundless whimper of fear.
Heavy breaths in her ear made a loud scream pulsate through her body- Noelle let out a sound between a whimper and a choked shriek as the hand on her shoulder tightened. Oh my god why did it feel so real? Why did she feel so trapped? Oh god it's going to- Noelle was having a full out panic attack as the hand moved seductively lower. Full-fledged terror rooted in her body and Noelle whirled around with wide, traumatized, oh so exhausted eyes.
There was nothing there. Absolutely, positively nothing. However, the terror rooted in her body made Noelle lurch forward awkwardly, looking around absently. What was she looking for? Her migraine pulsated even more, and pressing her knuckles against her forehead, Noelle stepped forward. What- where- who- her limbs jerked awkwardly as she fumbled forward. Then the most random thought ran across the front of her consciousness. Why hadn't anyone seen her yet? She frowned, before spotting something dark on the ground.
Curiosity surged through her, and as she leaned down to touch it, Noelle shivered vehemently. Then all of a sudden, straight out of nowhere, Noelle was jolted into a horrifying vision- It was dark, so dark. She couldn't see anything. Where was her husband? Why was she shackled to a wall? A slight breeze told her that there was draft in the wall, but as she strained her memory, she couldn't remember what happened. All she could remember was.. was.. pain? Sharp pain? On the back of her head? What happened?
The cold stone beneath her feet made her shiver slightly, making her once again wonder where she was. What was her name? She couldn't remember. All she knew was that it began with an 'N' and that she had a husband. What was his name? The cold metal around her wrists sharply dug into her skin as the chains were tightened, and that made the girl jerk back to reality.
What was going on? She resisted the urge to tremble as something creaked across from her. A door? Maybe? A whimper was yanked forcefully from her voice box as something rough, yet familiar jolted her chin upwards and she made eye contact with silvery optics. There was something so familiar.. so familiar..
"'Ello, pretty." his rough voice made her shiver in.. was that fear? Terror? Or something else? She was so confused. And then a cruel grin cracked his face, revealing sharp, angular teeth. A cold chill rushed up her spine, making her shiver slightly. She couldn't move her eyes from his face.
"Pretty?" his voice took on a confused lilt. "Why.. why aren't you.. you.. screaming." His grin took on an eerie look, making a shine in his eyes glint in a moment of pure, unadulterated insanity and something was jabbed through her stomach. As it jabbed through her stomach and out her back, the girl let out a howl of pure agony and began to claw at her face-
"Wake up!" the voice said nastily.
"Wake up!" a voice screamed shrilly, pure fear leaking through it. "Noelle, wake up!"
Noelle was screaming herself hoarse, raw. Her bloodshot eyes roamed around her swiftly taking in the white walls of the hospital wing, trying to understand that she wasn't in that horrible.. in that horrible vision. And it felt so real. As she glanced in front of her, Noelle realize that her younger, foster home sister was staring at her with fear in her eyes.
"Amy?" Noelle inquired hoarsely, not surprised as she usually sounded this way after a vision or night terror. Though she was confused. What was Amy doing in the library? "What were you doing in the library?" Noelle watched in confusion as Amy's face scrunched up and she began to bawl.
"D-don't scare m-me like that again!" Amy wailed as she tackled Noelle into a fierce hug. "I th-th-thought that y-you were d-d-d-dyiiiing!"she howled, her fourteen year old arms wrapped around her neck.
Confusedly, Noelle patted her foster sister's back. "Hey, I'm okay now." she spoke in a soft voice, trying to soothe the bawling girl. "No need to cry."

Okay, I decided to post a little something that I created on a Harry Potter site that I'm on. This was for an application that makes you a seer or not. If you haven't figured it out by now, I'm aiming for a clairvoyant.
I'm more than welcome to any helpful criticism so I can improve my writing skills.
