Cloudkit smiled as he looked around the nursery with his blue and brown eyes, happy that he would meet some friends today and maybe play a game or two.
The only downside of his day was that he couldn't talk- although, he presumed that was because he was a lot younger than some other kits. Shaking his head at his own unreasonable disappointment, Cloudkit padded to the closest cat he could find and nudged them with his nose.
The young white feline sat upon his hind legs, front ones in the air in hopes that this unknown cat would understand that he wanted to play.

Rainkit's small, dappled form lay in one of the nests, quietly observing the other kits around her. Yet, the she-cat was in a good mood. The she-cat was a little upset that she couldn't really hear anything, but that didn't ruin her good mood.
Hey, maybe she'd make some friends and play or something! Another downside was that Rainkit didn't talk very much. When she did, it was always too quiet or too loud and she would end up embarrassing herself.
She blinked in bewilderment when she felt something nudge her fur. Jumping slightly and feeling her ears burn in embarrassment, she turned wide green eyes onto the form of a white tomkit, who was sitting on his hind legs and his front ones in the air. What did he want? To play?
Getting to her feet, Rainkit tentatively gave into a playful bow, her tail flicking slightly.

Cloudkit flicked his ears nervously, hoping that Rainkit would understand and that he wasn't making a fool of himself. He smiled a wide grin at Rainkit's playful actions and nodded with as much exaggeration as he could. She understood that he wanted to play a game.
He poked her in the chest and tilted his head, trying to mouth the words, 'your name', hoping that the calico would understand that he was asking for her calling. It wasn't that it mattered much to him as he couldn't say it, but he still wanted to know.

Rainkit smiled hesitantly at him when the tomkit's head nodded rather vigorously. So, it was a game he wanted! Then he mouthed something she couldn't really make out- she wasn't the best at lip reading, plus, she was kind of a cat.
She blinked before opening her mouth and taking a wild guess. "Rainkit." came her simple answer, but the she-cat couldn't really hear it. Inwardly, she was panicking. Was she too loud? Was she too quiet?
Then she gestured to the tom herself, as if saying, 'And you?'

Cloudkit nodded, purring and dipped his head in greeting before giving a small smile. He purred silently, Rainkit was a pretty name.
Afterwards, he saw Rainkit gesture to him, asking for his name and he flattened his ears. He couldn't say it! He couldn't speak! The young tom began to panic for a while before he used his tail to gesture for Rainkit to follow him as he began to leave the nursery. He tilted his head when outside and looked to the sky, where there were a few clouds that he pointed at with his small paws, hoping that Rainkit would understand that he was trying to say 'Cloudkit'.

Rainkit blinked at Cloudkit's small smile, and her tail quivered slightly. But then he seemed to panic, and Rainkit frowned slightly in confusion. What- Then it hit her like something had struck her in the chest. He couldn't speak! Kind of like how she couldn't hear anything.
While Cloudkit beckoned with his tail to follow her, Rainkit padded after the tomkit slowly. When the tomkit tilted his head to the sky and seemingly beckoned to a portion of the sky, Rainkit had to squint her vision to see the few clouds. His name had to do something with clouds..?
Oh! His name was Cloudkit! Rainkit smiled slightly and dipped her head slightly, as if a greeting, or simply 'nice to meet you.'

Cloudkit grinned and jumped up playfully before dipping his head. He poked Rainkit in the chest before slowly being to jog away, giggling silently as he tried to get her to chase him.

For a moment, Rainkit was confused as she was poked in the chest, but when he began to slowly jog away, the deaf kitten grinned and bounded after the tomkit, intent on chasing him. A

Rainkit lurched awkwardly after the other kit, a grin on her face as she attempted to catch up to him. Tiny legs pounding into the ground, the she-cat lunged forward and attempted to playfully tackle the tom to the ground in an attempt to tag him.

Cloudkit squealed silently and fell, rolling over a little when he was tackled by Rainkit, but despite falling, kept the wide grin on his face, a soundless laugh emerging his mouth as he lifted himself from the ground and crouched, indicating that he was ready to run again.

Rainkit giggled quietly as she tackled the tom, her green eyes sparkling. Then, when the tom crouched in indication that he was going to run, Rainkit let out a squeal and she bolted haphazardly.

Cloudkit smiled excitedly when Rainkit began to run, before leaping forward and bounding after her, a large grin apparent on his face as he ran as fast as he could to catch up and tag her.
