The day had started out as unusually warm for this time of year, not that Rookkit had been awake to notice this. He had spent the previous day messing around until late, so by the time he woke up it was already early afternoon. The majority of his friends had already begun their games and wandered off, so the black tom decided to leave them being and ending up spending his waking hours lazily gazing up at the sky; something that he found quite wonderful and strange. The sun was setting when what Rookkit assumed were snow-filled clouds began to shroud the sky. Most kits seemed to have settled down for the night, and Rookkit himself had padded back to his nest [or, well, actually it was just a random nest,; not that anyone noticed]. His dark blue eyes were stilled glued to the sky though, which was slightly visible from the nest he had taken residence in. The kitten's eyes widened when he saw not snow fall, but something strange. He sat up in his nest, craning his neck forward as he tried to get a better glance at what was happening outside. Instead of the fluffy white flakes he had been seeing float gentle to the ground since he was born, their were strange ellipse-shaped flecks of a strange substance hurtling from the sky and hitting the ground in hard bullets, smacking the floor with an unusual pitter-patter that made Rookkit's ears flutter. Curious, the black tom-kit looked around, latching onto the first gaze he came in contact with; dark blue locking onto blue-green. "What's that?" Rookkit murmured in a curious and fascinated tone.
