SpruceclawLonekit woke early on another chilly winter day. she headed out into the frozen camp. It was rather quiet and... oh foxdung! she had really been hoping the snow had melted. It was cold, wet and really had no purpose, it was worse than rain! she sighed in irritation, even she had to admit it was fun to play in sometimes... she padded over to where the fresh-kill pile should've been and began to dig up the snow from overtop of it. she dragged a frozen mouse and a frozen sparrow out from the 'pile'. It was the only prey left in the camp, and nobody could eat it. See, now she had even more reason to dislike snow. she dug out a small patch of frozen grass and laid down. She put the prey close to her chest and wrapped her tail around her paws, not caring if she got wet in the process of thawing out this frozen food. The elders would need it to keep their strength, so she would be taking it to them once the prey was thawed out. She peered out from the hole she had made and noticed a few warriors were out and about. She raised her tail in greeting before wrapping it around herself and the prey once more.

"Well what are you up to, little one?" A dark brown tom mewed sitting walking up to the kit and sitting down next to her. he shivered from the cold and wondered how the kit could take it.

Lonekit unwrapped her tail from her body, revealing the frozen pieces of prey. Silently, she thanked Cloudclan for her thick pelt, as it was keeping her warm in this dreadful weather. She also supposed she had to thank the snow hole she was in, as it was blocking most of the wind. She pointed her tail towards the tom, then smiled and frowned. She was tryingto ask him how he was feeling today.

Spruceclaw gave a confused frown and stared at her blankly for a few moments. then realization dawned on his face and he nodded. "I'm well." He mewed "and how are you?" He asked looking at the young kit.

lonekit smiled, glad that he understood what she was saying. It made her really happy when she successfully communicated with someone. sometimes it was hard though, there were some things one couldn't say without words, so she had to improvise sometimes. She nodded and smiled, saying she was well. she pointed at the sky and then pretended to shiver, saying it was cold out today. She liked to have 'talks' like this with other cats, she was a good cat to talk to, she supposed. you could tell her anything and she couldn't really say anything about it to anyone else, not that she would if she could anyway. She understood well enough that trust was earned, and that it had to be kept.

"Yes, very cold." He mewed nodding to the kit. "Not great weather to be in either. I think it may start snowing hard later. " he mewed looking at the occasional flurries.

(Sorry for the late reply)
Lonekit nodded in agreement, flicking her tail crossly when she noticed the snow. As though they didn't have enough, no, more had to fall. At this rate, the whole camp would be buried in snow by spring time. She pulled the prey closer to her chest and wrapped her tail tighter around her body, starting to feel the chill a bit worse not that her fur was getting wet.

(Naw its fine I've been behind with my apprentices anyways) Spruceclaw saw her bundle up some more and he stood and moved to the other side of the kit. now she was completely blocked from the wind. then he drooped his tail across her back to give her some extra warmth.

At first, lonekit was confused about what the warrior was doing. Had he gotten bored of this interaction? She watched him sit down beside her and looked at him gratefully. She felt a lot warmer without the wind blowing straight on her. She was surprised further though, when she felt a tail on her back. It was one of those moment she really wanted to say 'thanks' she smiled brightly up at spruceheart, he had really surprised her, but I'm a good way. The cats in her clan were so nice!

Spruceclaw laughed "don't mention it kid." he mewed with a smile. although the other hadn't "said" anything he felt it was what she would have said.
