Sprained shoulder? [2 kits and a medicine cat]

[ooc: these kits come from another thread where Ember had her shoulder injured from a play fight. Would it be alright if you inspected it?]

Dapplekit let her pawsteps slow, allowing the other kit- Embersong -to lean on her shoulder while her orange and black tortoiseshell back brushed against Emberkit's cream. The slightly smaller kit, Dapplekit, looked up and yowled out, "Is anyone here? Emberkit's shoulder is odd!" Her voice seemed frayed, but her stance was tall, even if she was still shorter then Emberkit.

[Embersong]

Emberkit stumbled forward into the medicine cats' den, laying down on her belly with her paws stretched out in front of her. She sighed, and rested her head on her forearms, whining in pain as she did so. Please, someone come quick, she pleaded with her eyes.

[Liongrowl]

The large orange tom stood up from his nest wondering what had woken him. He spotted two little balls of fur and padded over to them. Collecting his thoughts he said, "Settle down now, kittens. A shoulder issue? Let me see what we have to work with." Liongrowl walked over to Emberkit's side and looked at her shoulder, closely. "Now how did this happen? And let's get you to a nest." He helped the little kit to a nest before looking at the herbs. Need some dandelion leaves.

[Dapplepaw]

Dapplekit hissed at the sudden surprise, "Y-Yeah! Shoulder issue!" The tortoiseshell kit snapped, her tail flicking from her nervousness and annoyance at not spotting the orange tom. Sucking in a remark like shouldn't it be obvious if it was a kit with a shoulder issue?, Dapplekit slightly followed Liongrowl as he helped Emberkit into a nest. The tortoiseshell flicked an ear at Liongrowl's next question, looking at the injured cream kit and then back at Liongrowl. "We were play fighting," She admitted, "and I injured her..."

Dapplekit grimaced. "I should probably get out of the way. You know what you're doing, r-right?"

(I'm going to wait to respond after this post for Emberkit to respond so she wont get flooded out of the thread)

Liongrowl didn't seem irritated with Dapplekit, more of entertained although his tone revealed nothing of the sort. "I wouldn't recommend keeping that attitude. And yes perhaps you should stand aside as I have been doing this work since before you were born," he said firmly. Though he's a medicine cat he wasn't the stereotypical one: small and frail. The large orange tom thought it would be good to get the point across early that she need not to be snappish with him. No respect for a medicine cat. Hmph. He looked over at Emberkit and placed some dandelion leaves in front of her. "Chew this for the pain."

(Any scratches or does it just hurt?)

[Embersong]

(It hurts, and it's a little out of socket.)

Emberkit took the leaves in her mouth, chewing the bitter tasting medicine. She wanted to spit them out, but continued chewing, closing her eyes and resting her head on the dirt. The pain was already settling down, but it still hurt badly. She looked up at the medicine cat with thanks already filling her eyes.

[Dapplepaw]

Dapplekit nodded nervously, standing back and watching as Emberkit chewed up the leaves, laying her head down. Liongrowl really did know what he was doing.

The tortoiseshell sat down, looking up at Liongrowl and smiling nervously. "Do you know if anything else is wrong?" Dapplekit tried to keep the irritation, both with herself and with the medicine cat, out of her voice, but it still lay there as an undertone.

[Liongrowl]

Liongrowl looked down at the kit and noticed a slight oddity in her shoulder despite his first thought. "Ah not to worry, a little issue I see. Now don't worry, you can thank me later." He didn't think she'd be too happy about him returning the shoulder to it's full correct position. Liongrowl made sure to be careful as to not damage anything as he moved it back as quick and painless as he could.

"I recommend waiting a while before playing roughly again. That shoulder shouldn't be strained so you'd be ready for apprenticeship," He said to Emberkit with a small nod, confirming his statement before adding, "Is that better? Your shoulder, I mean."

[Embersong]

Emberkit winced a little and felt her shoulder pop back into place. She looked up at the medicine cat who helped her. She got slowly to her feet and nodded. "Yea, i think so. Hopefully it wont bother me while im training. Thanks," She said as she shook her pelt. Her shoulder felt awkwardly different, but that must have been the after effects of popping it out of socket. She tried walking, stumbled a little, caught her balance, and continued walking just fine.

[Dapplepaw]

Dapplekit had a smile on her face, and she got onto her paws once more. "Thank you, Medicine cat!" The Calico bowed her head, and she turned to Emberkit. "Do you want to return to the nursery? I'll be going back to observing the clan, but..." The Calico flicked a orange and black tail, "Really depends on you, Emberkit."

[Embersong]

Emberkit smiled. "I could come with you, if you dont mind." She said, wanting to stick with the kitten she'd met when she was small. Now, they were about to become apprentices together, and hopefully become warriors together just the same. When she first met Dapplekit, she thought she was snappy and mean, now, she thought she was kind, generous, and caring. "We'll be apprentices soon. I wonder if we'll go to any gatherings." She mewed with excitement.

[Dapplepaw]

Dapplekit nodded, mewing back, "Yeah, we might!" She looked back at the orange tom, and flicked an ear. "We'll be leaving now!" She yowled, before tilting her head towards the entrance of the den. "Come on, Emberkit." The calico padded out of the den, leaving a few orange hairs behind on the den floor.
