Emberpaw crept across the clearing of the camp, her fur somewhat messed up from training. She needed to wash after she found something to catch in the camp. Her creeping was getting better. Her balance was perfect, and she tried to keep all her weight on her haunches, but it was harder than it seemed. She could feel the pawsteps of other cats through the ground beneath her paws. She opened her mouth, scenting out something she could attack. Emberpaw knew she probably looked weird doing this, but she didn't want to break any rules by going outside the camp. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw a bird flutter down onto the ground. Not smart, little birdy. She thought as she turned and crept up to the bird. It didn't even know she was there, which was sad. Once she got into leaping distance, she fixed it into a deadly gaze and rocked her haunches, ready to spring. Just then, a twig snapped behind her, and the bird flew away. She turned, "You made me loose my prey," she sighed.
