Snowy days ahead - open

[Dapplekit]

Dapplekit sighed and stretched her front paws. The calico sat in her nest and watched the snow fall from the sky. Dapplekit licked paw and sighed but than she spotted a mossball. Oh great she meowed to herself. A cat came closer to her. "Hello who are you?" She asked 

[Mintykit]

"Hi I am Mintykit" she purred.

Brokenkit tiled his head, amber eyes intent on following a large, glossy beetle through oaths made in the moss and bracken of his nest. 
He had heard so many glorious stories - of leafbare hunting, of blazing battles and of the prestige of the warrior code - so he decided to start before apprenticeship. Watching his prey, a beetle. He might have looked odd - his fluffy body angled towards the ground, one black paw frozen in midair and his ears pricked as he crouched there, completely stationary.

After a while, he grew rather bored of the tedious activity, and raised to his head to see two females nearby, both somewhat older - a tortoiseshell-and-white and a brown tabby. 
"Hello," Brokenkit meowed. He just hoped they hadn't witnessed his interest in the petty beetle. Heat rushed to the tips of his ears and, as if they could read his mind, he rushed on to say: "I'm Brokenkit,,, Who're you two girls?"

[Dapplekit]

Dapplekit looked at them both. "I'm Dapplekit" she meowed shyly and than licked her paw. "Nice to meet you Brokenkit" she meoed softly. Dapplekit licked her paw again  She sighed

"Likewise," the tabby meowed, half his mouth curling up. She seemed rather shy - guess it was up to him to get this party started. He briefly wondered whether Dapplekit might be his sister - he hadn't met any of his siblings yet and there were only two queens, so it was likely.
Concern filled his amber eyes as a sigh whisked from the tortoiseshell's jaws. "Something troubling you?" He queried.

The calico shock her head "No I'm just shy"  she meowed softly "Do you have wanted warrior names?" Dapplekit asked

The other side of his mouth quirked up, completing his small but charming, toothy smile. 
"Oh yes!" The tomcat exclaimed, his amber gaze brightening. He whipped around, his tiny, thorn-like claws swishing through the air, shredding an invisible enemy, then spinning back to face Dapplekit in a crouch, snowy belly brushing the frosty ground, 
"I want to be called Brokenstorm!"  Brokenkit grinned, flashing her a crooked grin. "And later, Brokenstar!" he added, lunging forward to aim a playful bat at Dapplekit's head.

Dapplekit smiled. "I want to be called Dapplefur" she meowed

[Mintykit]

"Oh sorry I am Mintykit and I would like my warrior name to be Mintyfur" Mintykit said after being distracted by the blowing trees.

The male wrinkled his nose up, scuffing the moss he was standing in with sharp, white claws. 
"That's kinda boring, doncha think?" Brokenkit said bluntly. He wondered briefly whether Mintykit had copied Dapplekit. 
If there was anything the tomcat hated, it was boredom. Boredom and copycats. He swished his tail, blinking at the two females as if he had never insulted them. 
"What about Dapplefrost? Or Dappleleaf? Or Dappleivy? Or something that isn't boring? No one will ever remember you with a name like Dapplefur. Or Mintyfur. What about Mintybrook, Mintyfrost, Mintycreek or Mintybreeze?" He rolled his green-gold eyes. "No one has imagination anymore!" Brokenkit complained.
