Colors danced across the sky in the world above all that Skykit knows. Like a picturesque painting that could never be created twice. The young kit's eyes danced with them, and as she saw the gold and red of the sun interlock until the developed a dark orange colour, the child briefly wondered if that was where her name had come from. All her siblings had been named for their coat colors, and so you'd expect her to be maybe Flamekit after her father, or perhaps foxkit for her color. Had Skykit merely been a spur of the moment?
Shrugging, her attention lapsed from her thoughts, and she noticed the strange presence of another cat. Turning her gaze upon them, she dipped her head in custom greeting, but said nothing as her piercing gaze returned to the strangely enticing sunset. "What would it be like to live up there?" she murmured to no one in particular, startling herself in the process. This was the fist time she'd ever spoken, or at least aloud, and her voice seemed so strange, not at all like the one in her head. It was strange, yet achingly familiar at the same time.

The young tabby tom stood outside watching his sister admire the changing colors of the red and golden sky. He himself had to admit it looked so very beautiful and that he was so proud to be living this close to the sky. When Skykit noticed him, she had dipped her head at him, and Brackenkit gave her a smile back. Her words caught him off guard, he'd never heard her speak before, so this was a wonderful change. "I'm not sure we'd like it as much up there. No matter how close you get to the sky, it'll always seem like it's just without reach. Passing to Cloudclan would be the only way we could possibly get up there. And I have a feeling that you'd want to live your life out first. Cloudclan will take care of us if we're up there, but Mommy will take care of us while we're down here. Put your trust in our mother, she'd never let anything bad happen to us." He replied, nuzzling his sister's shoulder in attempt to make her smile Perhaps someday they'd become the best of friends. Because well, in fact, you only ever had your siblings once in your life. He didn't want to screw it up with his siblings now. That would be a most terrible thing. tag: Skypaw ▪ words: 234 ▪ ooc: Little brother/sister bonding? |

(Definitely!)
Skykit blinked calmly at her brother as he spoke. He seemed so faithful, in Cloudclan and their mother. So optimistic. Sighing, she gave a nod. "I love mommy. But I don't know if I belong here" she mewed gently, and then said no more, sitting in silence until her brother nuzzled her gently. Smiling, she nuzzled him back with a slight purr. She hoped to always feel close to him. All her siblings really, because if anything ever happened, she felt they were the only one's she could trust. Resting her head on her siblings shoulder, she closed her eyes briefly before shuffling over to look at him. "Bracken makes sense. But why am I sky? Is it because of t hat?" she questioned, stretching a small paw in the direction of the orange smudges in the sky as though trying to touch them, before allow said paw to retreat behind her tail, blinking at her brother as though he knew all the answers.

Her words spoke true to her apparent lost look. Sorrow panged in his heart as he listened to her think that she didn't belong to Rockclan. "You do belong here. I promise. I'll be here with you every step of the way." He purred, licking the top of her head. The tom felt her move away from him and the brown tabby tom smiled at him in a grand appearance of happiness, as if to mask his unsureness. She looked at him with her piercing green eyes and the brown tom shuffled paws uncomfortably. "Momma said that you were named after an old friend of hers, Skye. Skye was a red she-cat with silvery eyes that seemed to stun anyone. Your green eyes seem to have the same effect. You catch the attention of anyone you see, with your golden pelt and green eyes. And I promise to be here whenever you need a friend, a shoulder to lean on, someone to get in trouble with. If you ever need me, i'll always be here for you. And when you need a voice, i'll be yours. And when you feel that you want to just watch the sunset in silence, i'll sit with you." He purred, pulling her in close and tucking his tail around her. tag: Skypaw ▪ words: 000 ▪ ooc: same here xD Do you want me to get a signature picture for you? (Aww, they're going to be such close little siblings. And yes, that would be amazing! I suppose she does have a sort of red pelt, but it's red-gold.)
It turned out when she thought her brother knew all the answers, she wasn't far off. His voice was so soothing, and she couldn't believe how much he knew. Why had her mother never told her about this, Skye? Could she meet her sometime, perhaps? Maybe she was a Rockclan warrior, or even another clan. Yet that couldn't be so, as she'd have a warrior name, would she not? As her brother pulled her closer, she rested her head on his shoulder, per his suggestion, and listened carefully as he spoke. It was good to here she had someone there for her. "And through day and night, good and bad, I will be there for you too." she mewed solemnly, all the honesty and serenity she could muster in that promising sentence. Smiling gently, she gave her sibling a gentle lick on the cheek. In her head, she vowed and oath to never turn her back on him in a time of need. They were family, and family never gets left behind.
