Squirrelkit bounced out of the IceClan nursery with an excited gleam in his eyes. It was an unusually warm day and everything was damp due to snowmelt. Naturally, this didn't deter him one bit; his goal today was to meet some new cats and nobody was going to stop him!
"Hey! Who are you?" he demanded upon spying somebody and trotting over.

"...Spottedkit." He muttered as a stranger bounded up to him and seemed to demand he state who he was. "Uh.. Who're you?" He cocked his head, looking at the stranger curiously. He wondered why this cat was so adamant about knowing who he was.
Maybe he was just one of those really excited kits.

"Spottedkit, huh? Okay! I'll remember that," the grey kitten meowed with a satisfied swish of his tail. Well… maybe he wouldn't actually remember the other youngster's name, but it was the thought that counted, right?
"I'm Squirrelkit and I -- ACK!"
He broke off with a loud screech of alarm and tumbled backwards, gaze fixated on the… thing… that had just landed on the tip of one of Spottedkit's ears. It was a moth, and only CloudClan knew what the insect was doing around here at this time of year, but Squirrel had never seen such a thing before. "W-watch out, it's gonna get you!"

"..Good!" He gave a toothy grin. But he was suddenly surprised by the stranger's screaming. He nudged himself backwards, startled. The moth had landed on his ear and he lifted his head but saw nothing. But he felt the moth on him. His ear flicked and the moth flew around them. "...That's a .. those fly thingies um.. Butter whatsit? I think ..! I haven't... I know this!" He honestly had no clue what a moth was and had once seen a butterfly so assumed it was that.
"Pffft..! You think it's going to eat me?" He laughed loudly. "It's a shrimp! Look how tiny it is!" He laughed even louder. "This thing couldn't even fit one of my kitten-toes in it's mouth, if it has one!" He snorted, with a few chuckles still coming from him.

To Squirrelkit's astonishment, the other kitten wasn't at all bothered by the strange winged insect. The grey tom, meanwhile, was glaring at the fluttering moth with obvious distrust.
"Who cares what it's called? Aren't you scared of it?" he asked, feeling a little embarrassed now. Squirrel had always thought of himself as bold despite the fact that he was a little afraid of the unknown; Spotted had effectively proven himself much braver. "I never said it was gonna eat you, but… it didn't even bite your ear or anything?" Noticing that the moth had drifted several tail-lengths away, Squirrelkit leaned forward to get a better look at Spottedkit's ear. It wasn't even bleeding! Clearly he had underestimated the strength of this kitten's ear.
