Bravekit stared at a kit from a dark, shaded corner of the nursery. He hadn't seen this cat meow, complain, or talk since the beginning of the day and was starting to think it was deaf. Lonekit, it was addressed as, he thought. Pitiful.

Lonekit batted a moss ball between her paws boredly. She didn't have anybody to play with, seeing as her only aquantince birchpaw was probably busy with h apprentice duties. She hoped she'd be an apprentice soon. She felt eyes baring into her back. She assumed at first that it was one of the queens keeping an eye on her, but the feeling of being watched dragged on longer than usual. Finally the brumese turned her head and locked gazes with another kit. 'What?' She asked with her eyes, tipping her head in question. She wondered momentarily if she had done something interesting to gain attention but she quickly dismissed the thought.

Lonekit nodded her head in acknowledgement and waved her tail in greeting. She smiled in a friendly way before standing up and walking towards the other kit. It had been awhile since she last had an interaction with another kit, so she would love to 'chat' with someone her age. It was a bit difficult though, seeing as most kits would rather run around than try to interpret what she was trying to say.

"Lonekit, your name is? Correct? I am Bravekit," He continued, establishing that this kit, indeed, was not deaf.

Lonekit nodded, establishing that he did in fact get her name right. It was great to not have to try to mime it out. She hadn't got an easy name to explain through tail waves and drawings in the dirt. She smiled at his introduction, happy that he didn't fall out walk away. Lonekit wondered briefly if Bravekit knew that she was mute, but she shrugged it off, deeming it as unimportant.
