a light breeze whisked through buttercup's patchy, brown-golden fur as she shuffled around the garden. the greying she-cat was fluffed up against the cold, and her scar-stricken face was scrunched up against the battering snow. the ugly lump of a cat eventually heard the distinct tingling of the plaything. she jumped up from her crouching position and quickly began to dig a hole underneath her. after clearing out a significant amount of snow, she found the red and blue ball. it was caked with hard-packed snow, and buttercup threw it at the wall to clear it out. purring a rustic purr, she began to play with it, throwing it around and catching it. eventually, however, she threw it across the fence. she let out an annoyed whimper, before bunching up her legs and leaping over the fence.
well, it was different. an old cottage with a roof that was sagging with snow was placed to the front of the property. at the back, a giant snow-caked maple tree was sprouting out at an odd angle, with a bench filled with red and brown leaves placed under it. buttercup began to sniff around for the plaything, leaping onto the bench and sneezing. she, obliviously did not notice the cat behind her.

Willow had left her twoleg for a while. The white furred kittypet had been sniffing around an old twoleg nest her eyes gleaming. Willow had not noticed that she was standing behind another cat that looked a bit stronger and faster then her. A cold shiver went down her spine.

sneezing again, buttercup turned around to look again and bumped into a pure white cat. the ugly mottled she-cat leaped backwards in alarm, hissing and spitting before realizing that this kit was almost shaking in fear. her brown-yellow gaze turned kinder and the old cat managed a smile. "hey, kiddo. no need to worry. just looking for-" she cut off as a tinkling sound echoed around the backyard. she immediately raised her head and tilted it. after a bit of listening, she leaped to the left, into a snow poff, and came out completely dusted with white snow. she sneezed again, then dropped the plaything. "this." she finished, smiling. "oh, right, gotta do those formalities and stuff. although really, who really does that? the clan cats? pfft, who cares about those idiots." buttercup was slightly lost in her own little world when she sneezed again. "so, anyway, yes, i'm buttercup. have i told you that? oh well." she sneezed again and grunted. "i think i have a cold."
