Kestrelkit had always stayed away from other kits because of one thing. Her blind eyes. The light brown tabby trotted out of the nursery trying to avoid bumping into cats. She scented someone near her |

Jay bounded up to the new kit. He almost knocked into her as he stopped abruptly. "Hi!" he mewed. He was really excited today. |

Jaykit listened intently, then noticed her light hesitation and jumped in. "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to," he mewed, craning his neck downward and looking up into her closed eyes. |

"That's not a reason to stay away," Jaykit said, sitting back on his haunches. "Someone I know had a mentor who was blind. Dewmask, she's blind. You guys should talk sometime." Jaykit really liked this other kit. He wanted her to be his friend, and he wanted to help her. |

"That's cool. I've always heard blind cats are better than the ones who can see," Jaykit meowed. He knew that the blind cats would hear, smell, and sense other things way better than he normal cats. "You can probably sense when it's dark before I even notice." |

Kestrelpaw did not quite agree. "Blind cats? Better? No we're not really better we just get more good at our other senses because we lost sight." |
