Lakekit Lakekit was sleeping inside the nursery, but on the ground, not a nest. She seemed relaxed, curled up with her tail on her nose. Her ears still perked up and moved, picking up any loud noises.

Miatu sighed restlessly as she lay, chin on her paws, I the almost silent nursery. Soft snores signalled that most other kittens were asleep. And so they should be. Yet this young kit was too troubled to sleep. She still had yet to find her sister, troubled by a voice like her own. Her worry was growing, and she felt misplaced here in the clan. She had already reached her fourth moon, though she didn't have enough clan experience or posts to become an apprentice. She wanted to be an apprentice so that she might have a better distraction in her life, as she knew there was little to know hope of finding her younger sister. Strangely enough, her voice left her alone this night. Maybe he sleeps to... she thought briefly, though she could almost imagine him waiting for something to infuriate her about. Huffing out a restless breath, the kitten rolled out her back and opened her searching green gaze, peering up at the roofing of the den. After a moment of laying in this position, Miatu found she still could not fall asleep, so she rolled back to her paws and padded into cooler area of the den, settling herself on the sandy floor and tucking her paws beneath her chest. Miatu's eyes scanned the nursery again, and noticed one shadow had its ears pricked as they swivelled in her direction. She blinked slowly at them, tail tip twitching slightly.
(Hehe, no problem @jcoonfrost)

Lakekit Lakekit suddenly woke up, but didn't look scared. The half-white tabby got to her feet and started to walk around the silent nursery. The kit knew she stepped on tails, but just continued until she was at the very back, then she just sat there, her odd-eyes looking around.

Miatu caught a flicker of movement, and turned her attention to a much younger kit prowling across the den toward her. Her ears perked up and she followed the young feline with curious eyes. Her paws shifted on the soft moss of her nest, and she curled her tail slightly. She'd never slept on something so soft since before coming here. Previously, the only comfort she gained had been from the warm rising and falling flanks of her siblings and mother as a kit. And her the shared comfort of her and her little sister until they were forced to disperse. She blinked sorrowfully at this thought, and as she heard the voice in her head, she was unsure if she'd imagined the sardonic response or not. Either way, she retaliated by unsheathed her claws and digging them into her bedding before allowing her attention to slip back to the kitten. As she settled down nearby, along the back of the nursery, Miatu bowed her head to her in greeting, offering her a gentle smile and inviting her over with a flick of her tail.

Lakekit Lakekit drew a paw over her face gently, her ears twitching as she heard some kits moving. After a short while, she noticed an older kitten moving, and then greet her, the blue/white tabby dipping her head in response. Lakekit got up slowly and sat down a little closer to the other feline. "Hello."

Silentkit smiled as the other shuffled closer and greeted her. At first they merely bowed their head, before she greeted her formally in a verbal way. The kit, not sure what else to do, dipped her head again. "Silentkit" she mouthed silently, almost pointing out the obvious. To highlight who this referred to, she gestured to herself with her tail before tilting her head on one side in a gesture of questioning curiously, and waved toward the other kit to ask of her own name.

Lakekit Lakekit kept a more emotionless face, and realized the tabby mouthed a word, to a slight confusion to hear no sound. "Silentkit?" she asked quietly, still not having a clear head. "I'm Lakekit."

Miatu nodded hesitantly. This kitten didn't seem to quite understand. She wondered if she'd ever experienced a mute kit before. Shrugging it off, she gave a more assured nod to show that the kit's guess was in fact correct. As the other inteoduced herself via name, Miatu purred and bowed her head in formal greeting once more, offering a gentle and welcoming smile. This was her substitute of 'it's nice to meet you.' Not knowing what else to do, she just shuffled her paws awkwardly and awaited for the other to make a move. Despite being a lot older than most kits in the nursery. Not being able to speak lowered her self-esteem the majority of the time, and the rest of it was the voice's fault. She really needed a name for him...

Lakekit Maybe.. she can't speak? she finally thought and sat more relaxed. The tabby heard some of the it's breathing nearby, trying to focus on the other, but realizing it's harder when she doesn't speak. "How are you?" she asked, wondering if she can read lips well, or decipher poses or actions.

Miatu noticed the younger seemed well to be catching on, and so she smiled gently as she relaxed, taking the same action. She whisked her tail slightly before tucking it gently over her paws and closing her eyes briefly until the question was asked. Opening her eyes, she briefly tilted her head to one side, mulling her response over in her head before shrugging and holding her tail up with a smile before lowering it again, trying her best to signal that she wasn't quite sure, though assumed she was happy or alright in a sense. She then dipped her head gently to the other, signalling that she was rather interested in her own input.

Lakekit Lakekit tucked in herself tighter so she took up less space. Trying to understand her action, she believed she was well. The half white-half tabby cat had an unsure look on her face, but then said, "I'm doing well, who's your mother?"

This kitten still seemed confused, though Miatu knew not how she could make herself any clearer, and so she left it as it was as Lakekit went on the ask of her mother. This was easy. Flickering her tail, she reached forward and pointed toward Dappledleaf's nest before smiling at the younger feline. Okay, so Dappledleaf wasn't her real mother, but hey. Close enough, right?

Lakekit Lakekit sniffed. The tabby looked at the direction pointed, her own mother's nest. "So you must be my sister." The tabby said, her eyes a bit wider, but her face was still emotionless.

The slightly older she-kit shook her head. Miatu was adopted, she couldn't remember her real mother all that well, but it wasn't Dappledleaf. Though in a way, she was. Tilting her head one side, she offered and indifferent shrug and sat with her tail curled over her paws whilst she shuffled awkwardly, not sure what to do now.

Lakekit "Oh?.. adopted then?" she asked. The tabby looked around a bit, then out the entrance. She looked back at Silentkit/paw, "Do you know any.. nursery games?"
