Swirlpaw arched her back hesitantly as she stood from her nest. She didn't quite understand the hesitation herself, yet she didn't bother questioning it as her soft white chest fur brushed against the ground. Her sightless blue gaze fell upon where she knew the location of the entrance was, and she smiled at the fact she could now image the den, as well as the whole camp and most other dens. Her tail arched over her back slightly and she released a momentary purr before straightening herself and padding lightly out of the den, weaving around her resting companions. She found she had the day of today. Or most days as it seemed. She shrugged at this. It gave her more time to accustom herself to sounds and smells without voices buzzing in her ears. Yet today, as she stared up blankly into the sun -as was her daily routine- she realised she felt strangely unsettled by the lack of companionship and moral company.
Sighing, she padded toward the fresh-kill pile, dodging the few early risers easily and murmuring her greetings politely. Once half-way across the clearing, she paused mid-step and shook her head. There was not the sense of hunger clawing at her belly like most days. What was this strange uneasiness that left her with no appetite or independent thought? Shrugging the strange idea off, she decided a nap in the fresh air as the atmosphere warmed with the new dawn was all she needed to relax herself. Turning around, she trailed back toward her den before swerving off toward the edge of the clearing, settling down onto her stomach in a semi-comfortable position, stretching her fore paws out before her. Stretching her jaws in a yawn, she placed her chin on her paws, yet her eyes remained open and staring at a sea of nothingness. As her ears twitched, she caught the sound of a mirroring yawn, and blinked slowly. Yawning is contagious?
(Wow, she's not the happiest today is she? Let's cheer her up eh? <3)

Finchkit headed out of the nursery her tail dragging on the ground. Her ears perked up at the sound of an older cat yawning. She went over to the other she-cat and meowed "Hello is everything ok?"

Swirlpaw fully awakened herself with a toss of her fluffy white head and purred briefly at the concern of the young kitten. Her blue eyes blinked sightlessly at the kitten and she offered a gentle smile. "I'm fine young one, tired is all" she mewed in gentle response, leaning forward to give the small feline a tentative sniff before smiling briskly at her. On her fur was the scent of the new queen Sandstone. She was glad the litter was healthy and doing well. "Your mother is Sandstone, correct? What is your name little one?" tucking her paws underneath her chest, the blind apprentice blinked again. "Mine is Swirlpaw" she wondered briefly if the kitten would have heard her name and of her blindness. Probably warned to be careful. She was after all one of exceptionally few blind cats in the clan.

Finchkit nodded and smiled at the older she-cat "I'm Finchkit" she meowed. "Nice to meet you Swirlpaw"

Swirlpaw twitched her ears, unsure of the young cat's answer to her former question. Did she nod, shake her head? Whatever the answer was, it just so happened it was not verbal. Sighing, almost irritably, she offered a calm smile and shook her head to show her slight confusion, staring blindly at Finchkit. "It is nice to meet you too Finchkit." she mewed gently, dipping her head again, trying to look as normal as she could this way. "So you are Sandstone's daughter? Who are your siblings?" she questioned, hoping the younger feline wouldn't look at her weirdly, despite Swirlpaw's inability to notice. Though she could sense a gaze, just not an inaudible response, which infuriated her sometimes.

Finchkit smiled before speaking again. "Silentkit, Sunkit, and Robinkit" she meowed. "But I have not spent time with any of them yet"

(Gah, forgot, sorry!) Swirlpaw nodded thoughtfully, wondering briefly what they looked like before shaking her head. Yeah, sure, what shade of black are they? She was tempted to scratch her claws down her own face, though managed to refrain from doing so with much self control and restriction. As well as realising it would probably hurt. Like, a lot. Blinking slowly, she smiled at the younger feline. "I'm sure you'll meet them soon. How are you liking our clan?" she wondered briefly how well the kitten would strive in learning the ways of a warrior. "Are you looking forward to being an apprentice?"

Finchkit smiled. "I like Rockclan I belong here. It's my home" she meowed. Apprenticeship? "I'm looking forward to it. I want to learn things and hunt and protect my clan" Finchkit meowed. "How's your apprenticeship?"

Swirlpaw smiled, it was good to know kits were enjoying their lives here so far. "That's good to know. Hopefully it will always be your home" she purred slightly at this, though her smile faults red slightly before strengthening as the kitten answered her question of apprenticeship. "I can tell you'll make a great warrior then. Maybe we might hunt together sometime once you are apprenticed?" she nodded, half to herself at this. She wondered what the kit would be like in her hunting when she was grown. She sure sounded determined with it, that's for sure. Blinking, she wasn't surprised when the question was turned back on her, though reworded to suit her own rank. "It is going well. I finished my battle training yesterday, and my mentor tells me I'm hunting well." the thought of the previous day's praise brought a smile to her face. "I believe I am to be assessed soon enough."

Finchkit smiled at her. "I'd love hunting with you" she meowed before speaking again. "I'm sure you will be one of the best warriors ever"

Swirlpaw twitched her ears to catch her words effortlessly before purring amusedly. "Well, then it is surely booked in." she decided with a nod, stretching out her legs slightly before shifting back into her relaxed position, peering sightless lay at the young cat. As she spoke, Swirlpaw couldn't help but flinch at Finchkit's words. Though she wasn't sure as to why. She was well aware of the truth herself, and so was the rest of the clan, it could hardly hurt for this kitten to know just as well. "I wouldn't count on that, not if I'm blind that is" her tone shrugged it off as though it were nothing, though through her forced smile, one could see her face was void of emotion. It was the hard truth. Live with it.
