A family reunion (p)

Sunkit)

Sandstone padded out of the nursery with a smile on her face. She was going to hang out with her only son, Sunkit. She looked around for her son when she spotted him outside. She slowly padded to him with a smile on  her face. Hello Sunkit. She meowed kindly sitting nearby him. His pelt looked much like hers but was slightly darker. But he resembled her very much.

[Sunkit]

Young Sunkit knew very little of her mother. She seemed nice so far, and rather caring. Though they hadn't had much chance to get to know her yet. Now his ears twitched as he caught the sound of approaching paw steps, and the corners of her lips turned up in a smile. Spinning to face Sandstone, her purred and offered her a gently smile. "Hi mother" he mewed in response. Her was practically her reflection, though slightly more shaded, with matching eyes.

[Sandstone]

Sandstone smiled now seeing his face he was almost an exact replica of herself minus a few other details. They still had matching eyes and the tabby stripes along the back. "So how is my son today?" She asked. Not trying to be the very into-there-kits-business sorta mom. She just enjoyed being able to talk.

[Sunkit]

At his mother's question, the younger feline shrugged. He was just himself, that was all there was to it as he saw. "Alright I suppose" he responded simply, twitching his ears in her direction. Deciding it was best to turn the question back, he decided to do so. "And you, how have you been mother?" he asked with a smile, before adding in a question that had been on his mind for a while. "When can I meet my father?"

[Sandstone]

"I've been well." She meowed softly responding to his question. When he brought up Spruceclaw she was shocked. Hadn't he realised that his son would lije to meet him? Well I'll just send the message to him. "I'll send your father to you. I thought he would've meet up with you, but I guess not."

[Sunkit]

The young Tom smiled and nooded. It was good his mother was doing well. He nuzzled her slightly, before noticing her shook. Sunkit flinched backwards, his eyes widening in surprise, before settling when he realised she was just wondering why Spruceclaw hadn't come to meet with him yet. He nodded and allowed his fur to lie flat again, giving his chest a couple of awkward licks. "Thank you. I'm sure he's just busy being a warrior and all. He'll come see us soon, I'm sure." the young Tom blinked up at his mother optimistically.

[Sandstone]

"Most likely he always tries to help his clan." She meowed. 'And that's why I love him.' She thought to herself. "So have you met any of the other kits yet?"

[Sunkit]

Sunkit nodded and grinned. "I'll be a great warrior too, and help my clan just like papa" he nodded to himself at this and purred happily. At her question he shook his head, though his grin fell slightly, he still maintained a smile. "Not yet. Just Siltentkit(sister). Oh, and Brackensky!" he nodded again at this and twitched his tail, pricking his ears as he gazed up at his mother.

[Sandstone]

She nodded. "Just like your father." She then smiled at the mention of Brackensky, she was one of the multiple friends she had. "Your gonna meet a lot of other cats when you become an apprentice." She told as her son gazed up to her.

[Sunkit]

Sunkit perked up at the mention of meeting other cats, he held his chin high and waved his tail. "Do you have any other clan friends? I want to meet everyone so that I can lead Rockclan one day and know the other cats" he nodded to himself at this before bounding forward to rapidly strike out with a paw at his mother's tail, whiskers twitching slightly in amusement.

[Sandstone]

"Yes I do. So...so does your father. Besides knowing everyone in our clan, I know Thunderfox of Frieclan, Asterheart of Treeclan and Willowpaw of Treeclan." She watched her son as he struck her tail she smiled and turned around quickly.

[Sunkit]

Sunkit tilted his head to one side, looking up from the warrior's tail as she turned away. "Why so many Treeclan cats?" his asked curiously, springing forward for her foreleg, locking his tiny jaws carefully around it with a mock kitty growl in his throat.

[Sandstone]

Sandstone smiled. "Well it's just that...I don't know how to explain it." She meowed.

[Sunkit]

The kitten tilted his head to one side, confused. "Mama, is something wrong?" he questioned worriedly, being serious for once. Tentitively, he approaches her face and raises his head to meet her eyes as best as he can. "Is it me? Did I do something bad?" he asks cautiously. Okay, so she'd said something about not being able to explain all the Treeclan cats, but hey, he couldn't help but worry when his mother hesitated so much. Maybe he'd done something bad, and that's why she couldn't tell him. "Why can't you tell me? Is it because I was play fighting and pretending the were Treeclan cats? I can stop mama, I promise" he says, blinking up at her with wide eyes. The pure image of innocence.
