[Nightfall]

Beechroot

Nightpaw took her first step into the apprentice's den.

She spotted an empty nest and made her way over to it. She tentatively tested it by stepping inside with one paw, before depositing her entire weight and curling up. She snuggled with herself and the nest for a moment, before raising her head. She noticed an apprentice coming into the den. Hm... Wasn't that one of the other new apprentices from the recent ceremony? She didn't say anything, but stared at the arriving tom.

[Beechroot]

Beechpaw entered the den cautiously. He lifted a paw and sniffed the air full of new scents. The sensitivity of his nose will get him in trouble one day. The apprentice suddenly felt eyes on him. His eyes dropped onto Nightpaw, who had just picked out her new nest. I shared my ceremony with her. He blinked at her a few times before asking, "Do we just pick one?"

[Nightfall]

Nightpaw shrugged.

"I would assume so. The nest I have chosen is not currently being occupied by an apprentice. If no one is using it, I would assume it's acceptable for you to claim it." She gestured to a nest near her that lacked any fresh scent. "I believe that one is free for you to take."

[Beechroot]

Beechpaw turned only his eyes to the nest she gestured to and nodded. He padded over quietly and laid down in his own nest. It was strange. He was used to sharing the whole nursery with all of the other kits. The apprentice's den seemed almost empty. He didn't like it. "So, you're Nightpaw. Right?" He had no clue what to talk to her about.

[Nightfall]

Nightpaw watched Beechpaw make his way over to the nest she indicated to.

She tilted her head to the side, he seemed mildly uncomfortable. She nodded, in response to Beechpaw's inquiry. "Yes. And you're Beechpaw." She replied, not posing a question but instead a statement. 

[Beechroot]

The yellow cat nodded and laid his head on his paw in an attempt to get settled in. He was so nervous about the hunting training that it made his stomach upset. Its contents were few anyway, so he was hoping he wouldn't throw up. "Are you excited for your warrior training?" He wasn't. Not anywhere near close.

[Nightfall]

Nightpaw saw Beechpaw finally try and settle in.

Then he posed a new question. She snorted. "One might call that an understatement, when applied to myself." She replied. "I desire to learn everything that there is to be learned. My only hope is that my mentor is competent enough to fulfill my desires."
