Static managed to abruptly fling herself from the side to escape her opponent's claws.
She was breathing heavily, but not ready to give up. No, that wasn't her style. She managed a smile, despite the blood leaking from her body. She saw something on her opponent, enough though her concentration wasn't exactly the best at the moment, and wondered if scars hurt if wounds were added over them. She dashed around to the chestnut cat's rear, and lunged to swipe and snap with her jaws at his hindlegs.

Jack had honestly not been expecting anything other than a direct charge to the face like last time. Instead he felt teeth and claws tear into the his haunches. Again all he felt was a dull throb if pain, but obviously it had not been something so minor for Rhys as he felt himself being pushed out of the driver's seat.
Rhys had essentially been asleep while all of this had been going on. He hadn't really deemed it necessary for him to stay awake and watch his body being jerked around like a puppet on a string. If anything he might've made Jack's job harder if he tried to avoid an attack, while Jack was trying to attack. Still it wasn't really pleasant when the tom felt a sharp pain burn through his hind leg. He unconsciously pushed himself back into control, immediately toppling over into his side as he did. A moan of pain left his mouth as he lay on his side. It didn't matter how many times he told Jack he couldn't take a punch, the other tom never seemed to listen.
With tired and blurry eyes, Rhys forced himself to look over at the she-cat. Did this technically count as a defeat? Probably, but most definitely to Jack. "I guess you won huh?" His voice was hoarse. The chestnut tom attempted to punch himself to his feet, only to get to a sitting position and hiss as pain shot up his back once more. Definitely a great way to make a first impression. Oh how he hoped this cat wasn't from Death Clan, his name would be ruined before he even set foot within their camp...

Static grinned, as she half collapsed, half laid down on the ground.
She was breathing heavily, but managed a smile to the other tom. He'd suddenly fallen to the ground, and more or less conceded defeat. He tried to get to his paws, but ultimately failed. She figured it was from the wounds she gave him.
"That was... A really good fight! You're great with your claws!" She complimented enthusiastically, despite the exhaustion weighing her down. "My name is Static. Whatcha' doin' in Deathclan territory?" Now that they'd had a fight, she was much more willing to hold some friendly conversation. This cat officially had her respect as a strong fighter.

Rhys let out a small sigh of relief as the she-cat, Static, didn't seem to want to continue their fight. Which was good. His ears perked up at the mention of Death Clan. Oh boy, so she probably was a Death Clan cat, though he still hoped it wasn't the case.
The chestnut tom gave a small smile back at the gray cat. "Thanks, you weren't too bad yourself." he replied breathlessly. "It's nice to meet you, Static, I'm Rhys. As to what I'm doing in Death Clan territory, well... I've been kind of looking for it. I planned to join after I heard about it. You wouldn't happen to know if there's a main camp nearby, or if they have something else set up instead?"

Static was very happy at hearing Rhys' response.
She was ecstatic to finally have a name to connect to the very cool, but older tom. Further, it sounded like they'd see each other around! That was great!
"Thanks, Rhys!" She mewed happily, before moving on to answer his question. "Yeah, we have a main camp! You might find the leader, Dove, there so you can join! Though, cats aren't in the camp a lot. I think they like hanging around their dens or around the territory more." She explained, without her enthusiasm wavering, despite her injuries.

It'd been a while since Artemis had seen any new faces around. Or any faces in general, for that matter, but that was probably more because of her going off on her own again. Still, DeathClan had been quiet enough for Artemis to welcome a change of pace.
Thus, her attention was immediately piqued when she heard voices--young-sounding ones, at that--from her good ear and from where she was walking back to her den. She was half-dragging, half-carrying a particularly large crow, with her teeth clutching the wing. The feathers were enough to choke her, but the meat was worth it in her opinion.
The white and gray cat moved slowly towards where she'd heard the voices, at least until she could put down the crow and see who they were. Young cats, a male and a female. The tom smelled distinctly different, clearly the newcomer, and she'd heard enough to know he wanted to join. And their names. Static and Rhys, was it? Odd, but she wasn't one to talk.
"Hello," she greeted, glancing between them. "My name is Artemis. I couldn't help but hear your conversation."
She paused, looking at Rhys. "If you wish to join, be warned that joining DeathClan is not something to take lightly. The previous leader was recently killed by his own subordinates. Are you willing to take this risk?"

Rhys calmly nodded his head in reply to Static, although in his head the tom was practically screaming. This couldn't actually be happening right. The last he had heard Drought had just recently died, meaning no one had stepped up yet. Sure it wasn't to much of a surprise the someone had taken over, he just hadn't been expecting it this quickly. Jack was definitely not going to like hearing about this...
However Rhys' attention was suddenly pulled away from Static and on to the newcomer. The new she-cat was definitely older than him, and far more battle torn as well. Doing his best to remain calm, Rhys forced a smile onto his face as he nodded. "Of course. Although I will keep that in mind as I continue with the group."
((sorry this is so late))

Static's attention was caught by a newcomer.
An older she-cat who had a dead crow laying at her paws. Her tail wiggled behind her in excitement, even though her pelt was stained with her own blood. She was unfamiliar with the she-cat, but she really wanted to get to know her! Unfortunately, Static wasn't that driven to try and attack someone else while wounded.
She find this she-cat some other time and challenge her, right and proper! That was the perfect plan.
"Nice to meetcha' Artemis!" She chirped happily. Her enthusiasm did not waver as she listened to Artemis speak to Rhys. She was super excited to know that Rhys was probably going to stick around! Maybe they could fight again sometime! Maybe when she was a bit better... He'd knocked her around a bit.
"Life is full of risks! No reason to shy away!" She piped up.
