It was a bright day and Crevicelight was a fluff of energy today. She would be taking her apprentice out into the territory for training! Although the warrior was new to this whole training thing, she knew that Cloverstar believed that she would be a great mentor. "Ripplepaw! It's time to wake up! We have a long day ahead of us!" The Turkish Angora nudged her sleeping apprentice and then fled out of her previous den. It was a bit weird, going back there, but she still enjoyed it. It was a good six moons as an apprentice anyways. Once she left the den, she gave herself a quick cleaning and selected a blackbird from the freshkill pile, awaiting her apprentice to be ready.

Ripplepaw groaned as he felt someone nudging him awake, his ears twitching as he vaguely heard another cat speak to him. 'Ripplepaw! It's time to wake up! We have a long day ahead of us!'
What?! The only time he was supposed to get up this early was for...
"Training!" Ripplepaw gasped. Had he forgotten? The tom scrambled to his paws, trying to ignore the crash of dizzyness that met him from standing up too fast. He was supposed to train with Crevicelight today! The tom made a distressed groan as he stumbled outside of the apprentice den and into the clearing.
"Right! Training! ...I didn't sleep in, right?!" He asked nervously. How embarrassing it would be to sleep in on his first day of training with his new mentor! First impressions didn't seem to be his forte.

Crevicelight giggled at his worry, not to mention that Ripplepaw manged to get up as quick as her. "Oh yeaaahhhh, you're a moon late to training. I was sitting out here waiting when the beast would finally wake up," she teased, hoping he would catch her sarcasm. "Anyways, like I said. It's going to be a long day, so I would say to get your breakfast now and we can hunt for lunch later." Crevicelight then began tearing away her meal before heading over to the camp exit. "What have you learned already? We can review and then learn new material! It's so cool because my own mentor, Silverfoot, . . . something happened to her, so Cloverstar became my mentor! So you're like training under a leader's apprentice's supervision!"

Ripplepaw relaxed as Crevicelight teased him and broke the panic he had felt, and his own laughter began to errupt. "Sometimes I feel like I could sleep for a moon!" He admitted, smiling. Crevicelight seemed to be really cool so far! It baffled him why he had been worried that his mentor wouldn't like him... but then again he tended to worry about everything, so it wasn't quite the mystery he made it out to be.
He listened to her patiently, and walked over to the fresh kill pile for food. I get to hunt for my lunch? That's so cool! He thought, eyes sparkling with intensity and determination as he picked out a vole from the pile and began to dig in; He made sure not to eat too fast and mentally reminded himself to take even bites despite wanting to leave for training as soon as possible.
Once he was done, he followed her to the camp exit, the eagerness and excitement beginning to build until he could barely stand still. "So far, I've only toured the territory of our clan..." He admitted, flicking his tail in embarrassment. He truly wished he had gotten farther with his other mentor.
'It's so cool because my own mentor, Silverfoot, . . . something happened to her, so Cloverstar became my mentor! So you're like training under a leader's apprentice's supervision!'
Ripplepaw's eyes widened, and he gaped at the warrior. "Wait, really? You got to be trained by Cloverstar? That's so cool!" He mewed excitedly. "But I'm sure your teaching methods are just as good as hers!" He told her, pausing to look around as if the leader herself was listening in on their conversation. "I can definitely sympathize with losing your mentor though; I'm just glad I get to start training again!"

'So far, I've only toured the territory of our clan.' Crevicelight tried to hide her excitement. So they got to resume the tour and then hunt and patrol! Fun! The warrior nodded at Ripplepaw's praise over herself and Cloverstar. It was great that he was willing to have her train him now. "So we'll start with a tour and then hunt. Or maybe we should try hunting and touring at the same time! Oh my gosh, Ripplepaw! There's so much for you to learn!" With this, the Turkish Angora trotted out of the camp and began to lead the two down the cliff that the clan resided on. "
oops. I got busy with work and essay writing. ;n; and heheh, I used to write as much as you. I might go back to that length. ✿

[that totally fine, I understand that! And yeah, I think it just depends on if I'm in the mood to write a lot or not haha]
Ripplepaw's excitement to start his training began to rise with Crevicelight's enthusiasm. He would get to hunt during the tour? That was cool! ...And nerve-racking; What if he sucked, or did something wrong...? Taking a breath, he ignored his negativity and tried to focus on following Crevicelight.
"I'm so excited! This is what I've been waiting for! I've been eager to learn how to hunt... Every time I'd take food out of the fresh-kill pile I'd secretly feel guilty." The tom admitted, letting out a small chuckle. "Plus it's embarrassing not knowing anything about the territory of our clan when I'm a member of it." He also added, trying subconsciously to remember not to ramble on; he did that sometimes. He looked around at the unfamiliar surroundings and a hint of nervousness crept through him. "So, uh, where are we headed?" He mewed calmly, trying to mask his anxiety.

Plus it's embarrassing not knowing anything about the territory of our clan when I'm a member of it. So, uh, where are we headed?' Crevicelight purred at the apprentice's words. He was just as talkative as her. She liked him already. "Great! I'm glad to be helping you out as much as I can Ripplepaw," she responded. Where were they headed anyways? She began to climb down a cliff's crevice, keeping an eye on her apprentice. One slip and it could lead to a cat's death. "Be careful around here. It's still somewhat wet, but if you feel even the slightest bit unbalanced, run down to the bottom of the trail as quick as you can. We can work on your balance after, but for now, the territory." The Turkish Angora then stopped and waited for her apprentice to start his journey down. Like she mentioned before, it was going to be a long day. "We'll visit our border with Treeclan first."
ick, sorry for the wait. my quarter just ended, so I'll be more active! c: ✿

Ripplepaw smiled at his mentor's enthusiasm, following her down the cliff. 'Be careful around here...' She began to warn him. The tom exhaled shakily, although he tried not to let Crevicelight hear him. He couldn't be scared of everything, not anymore. He was actually advancing as an apprentice. This enigmatic timidness he possessed would not help him become a warrior. "I'm fine..." He murmured to himself.
As the tom made his way down. he listened as Crevicelight explained they were going to the Treeclan border. "Oh... The border? We won't... see any Treeclan cats, will we?" Ripplepaw asked her. He really didn't want to encounter a Treeclanner. Not that he knew anything about them, but... well, that was the thing. He knew next to nothing about Treeclan, but he was sure it's members wouldn't like him.

She waited her him to reach her at the bottom then nuzzled his forehead like a mother. Wow, she was proud of him. There was a worry in Ripplepaw's voice. Was something wrong? Crvicelight was not the type of cat to detect such changes in one's tone; rather, she would just think things here way - everything was alright. But this time, she took the time to investigate. "We might," she responded as calm as she could. Inside, she was dying to meet another clan cat, for she just loved to make sure others knew her. She shook her head. 'You have to be responsible for Ripplepaw now too! You're a warrior!' Right. No more fooling around. "I'm sure nothing will happen to you. We stay get a few foxlengths from the border if you want." Again, she had to refrain herself from exploring the border-border.

The praise Crevicelight gave him through her small gesture made Ripplepaw feel a surge of pride. That wasn't so bad... It seemed silly to him that just moments ago, he had seemed scared of crossing over the cliff. Easy.
'We might,'
It's fine, Ripplepaw. Even if you meet someone else... Surely, they won't attack us. We aren't doing anything wrong, so they wont. Yeah, they'll see us and then mind their own business... Ripplepaw tuned out of his thoughts to listen to his mentor's suggestion of staying a little bit farther from the border. Had she noticed his nervousness?
"No! I mean... it's fine. We should get as close as possible... you know, so that I know for sure where the border is." Well, he did want to make sure he knew exactly where the border was... so that in the future he would remember to stay as far away from it as possible. Not that he would tell her that. "It's no big deal if we see some other cat's anyway." He mewed, although he was mostly just saying that for himself. I'm not going to worry... Besides, Crevicelight is a trained warrior. Nothing is going to happen.

So he wanted to get as close as he could? 'Okay. . .' Crevicelight gave an odd look of uncertainly, but it was short enough for Ripplepaw to not catch it. To get rid of the awkwardness that was going on, the warrior decided to jump back to their lesson. It was easy to create a conversation here - the land was flatter, just like the camp. "Rockclan is known for our climbing and digging," she mewed. "So we have to have tougher paw pads than the other clans, but sort of like Icelan. Since we're going to Treeclan, we're going to see more trees than before, and their land is more grassy." She went on speaking before coming to a stop. The warrior laid herself on the ground and stretched. A quick sunbathe really. "We're halfway there, but we'll be safe. Besides the sunrise patrol should be at the border by now!"

Ripplepaw forced himself to be calm. He had to be focused, and he wasn't doing a very good job of that. He listened as his mentor explained Rockclan and Treeclan's qualities, a smile tugging at his mouth. So Rockclan had tougher paws? He looked down at his own paws, unsheathing and then sheathing his claws for a moment before he tread on. "More trees? Cool." He mewed, following her. Rockclan was rather bear, and there weren't many trees at all. He wondered just how different Treeclan would look.
The tom stopped as Crevicelight did, listening to her thoughtfully as she stretched. It made him rather sleepy. He ignored the nervous pull of being close the the border and shifted his weight from paw to paw for a second.
'...we'll be safe.'
The tom shook his head before stilling himself. "So, what are Treeclan's strengths? They climb a lot, I assume."
