It was early enough in the morning that the sun wasnʻt out yet, and there were kits squirming around in their mothers nest. Moonkit shook out his white fur and raised one brown paw in front of the other till he reached the camp entrance. Now he had nothing else to do but look up. He rolled onto his back, his tail facing the nursery, and watched as the sky slowly became brighter.

As always, Lionkit was up before the sun; it had begun to become a habit of his, and it would certainly help when he became an apprentice. He debated for a moment whether or not he should just lie around, waiting for the sun to rise and the other kits to wake up, but he cast the thought aside, electing instead to get breakfast early. Besides, the sunrise was always far better when there wasn't a ceiling to block it. He made his way to the edge of the den, and from there he padded along the barrier until he had reached the entrance. He didn't see the other cat until it was too late; he stumbled over what might have been a leg, and then he was tumbling out of the den. Picking himself up off the ground, he turned, his green gaze picking up what he had not seen before; a kit, a bit younger than himself. "Sorry about that," he whispered, careful not to wake any other cat up.

Moonkit didnʻt hear the other kit get up. He certainly hadnʻt seen him when he walked outside. Merow He yelped softly as he felt someone trip over him. It wasnʻt that it hurt him, more like it took him by surprise. He quickly got to his paws and looked at the other kit. No, donʻt be sorry. I shouldnʻt be laying right in front of the den anyway. Moonʻs blue gaze scanned the other tom, noticing instantly that he was much older than himself. Moonkit. And you are?

Lionkit dipped his head, acknowledging both Moonkit's introduction as well as the fact that it wasn't exactly the smartest thing to lay right in front of the den's entrance. "Pleasure to meet you, Moonkit. I'm Lionkit," he replied, sitting down in front of the younger tom. "Might I ask why you're up so early?" he asked, surveying the kit with a curious green stare. He didn't bother asking why he'd been in front of the den; he likely hadn't expected anyone to be up for a while yet, and so hadn't worried about where he sat.

Moonkit copied the newly named Lionkit and nodded his head. A pleasure to meet you as well, Lionkit. He murmured as he settled down and flicked his tail around his paws. He hadnʻt really a reason for waking up early. He just liked it. Meh. I guess itʻs just something I do. He answered truthfully. The other kits would be waking soon, the sun was rising higher in the sky and the stars were slowly disappearing. Why are you up so early, if I may ask.

Lionkit shrugged, gazing up at the brightening sky as the sun made its ascent. "Your guess is as good as mine. It's become almost habitual at this point, but I have no idea why." He turned back to regard Moonkit, a soft smile on his white muzzle. "But I won't question it; I do enjoy watching the day begin," he added, and glanced back up as the night retreated and the eastern horizon turned a soft pink.

Moonkit had to agree with what Lionkit was saying. It was nice to be up to watch the day begin. Nothing like hearing everything awaken to a new day. Just then he heard a yelp from the nursery and giggling. I guess weʻre not the only ones awake anymore. Laughed the tom, looking over his shoulder. He could hear more and more of them waking up. What else do you like? If itʻs not weird of me to ask.

Lionkit smiled again, both at the sounds of a new day and at Moonkit's question. "Of course it isn't weird." Turning once again from his inspection of the morning sky, he met the other tom's blue eyes with his own emerald gaze. He thought a moment, and then replied, "I do enjoy a good conversation, and there are a few games that can be entertaining. Exploration is certainly fun, though not much of that can be done within the camp. The beginning and end of the day is always fantastic to watch, though the night sky certainly has its share of grandeur." Lionkit broke off with an embarassed grin; he had begun to ramble a bit. "And what is it that you like, if you don't mind me asking?" he questioned, pushing his embarrassment down as he did so.
