It was well past sunrise and Ripplepaw was becoming eager to do something. He had been in the apprentices den daydreaming about his eventual warrior ceremony, but it became apparent to him that he probably looked pretty weird staring at the well of the den with no acknowledgement to what was around him. Just thinking about it made his fur rise in embarrassment, and he let out a nervous laugh as his paws took him to the fresh kill pile; Only now, he realized he wasn't in the mood to eat despite the protests from his stomach.
He looked around the clearing at all of the unfamiliar faces. Sure, he could probably recall some of their names; It'd be strange to not hear about his clan-mates. Although, it was probably strange that he wasn't really friends with any of them... To be honest, his attempts at friendship seemed to fail as he continuously ended up alone anyway. He probably appeared strange to them or something. Why? He didn't really have a legitimate reason, but it was a tendency of his to over-think.
He could try and talk to one of his clan-mates right now. There was a decent amount of cats in the clearing. However, there was always the chance he could embarrass himself... And what if whoever he tried talking to didn't like him? Frowning, Ripplepaw glanced back at the apprentices den. Maybe he could just go back to staring at a wall...

Sunkit. Was. Bored. To put it straight.
He'd spend almost a whole day wondering around camp and the nursery with absolutely nothing to do. His father was busy with warrior duties like hunting and patrolling and hanging out with friends or whatever. His mother was busy caring for the youngest of his siblings or those who actually needed her care. His siblings were busy lazing around sleeping as though morning would kill them if they even considered getting up. And his friends? Well, they didn't exist. And so, he found himself walking around and around and around and around, and, well you get the point. He was circling the camp like a broken record, complaining his boredom rather loudly each time he reached the nursery or the elders den in hopes for a playmate or a possible story. Yet now his gaze caused him to spot another cat.
And apprentice had just exited his den. Maybe half way through his trading and clearly rather lonely and awkward. He noticed the older Tom head for the fresh kill pile, reach it, and then walk off again as though he'd eaten his full in the blink of an eye. And now he seemed like he wanted to talk to someone, despite the fact he was clearly about to resort back to his den. The kitten tried to recall some of the names he'd learnt from his observations, found one, and matched it to the cat before him. Yes, he remembered seeing this 'Ripplepaw' guy being called out by some other cat. Pricking his ears, the golden Tom bounded over quite happily and stood before the apprentice, blocking him off from his den so he wouldn't disappear again. "Hi Ripplepaw! I'm Sunkit!" he greeted enthusiastically.

Ripplepaw, having given up on attempts at socializing, turned back towards the apprentices den only to realize he was being blocked by a ginger tabby who looked to be only a little bit younger than himself.
'Hi Ripplepaw! I'm Sunkit!'
Ripplepaw blinked. Wait, this cat knew him? Had they met before? Ripplepaw tried to recall having any sort of interaction with this kit, but his mind came out blank. Then, he realized this cat had probably just heard his name sometime or another. He flicked his tail in embarrassment and cleared his throat anxiously. "Oh, hello. It's nice to meet you Sunkit!" Ripplepaw mewed. The tom seemed to be pretty hyped up.
Observing the cat closer, Ripplepaw wondered why the tom was still of kit status. He was definitely due for a ceremony. "Actually, I'm glad you stopped me." Ripplepaw admitted. "I was kind of looking for someone to talk to. The problem was actually initiating a conversation..." He continued before realizing he was probably about to ramble and say something stupid.
"So, although you still have a kit name, you do look old enough to be an apprentice. Are you due for your ceremony?" He asked Sunkit; He was genuinely curious.. "It'd be really cool to have another den-mate soon, so I'd definitely be looking forward to it!"

"It's nice to meet you too" He purred in response. This cat seemed like a good source of distraction from his boredom.
Sunkit blinked at the other Tom as he seemingly went on to talk about nothing. Clearly he didn't get out much. Fortunately, he stopped himself in time for not boring the younger feline to death, and Sunkit had to restrain himself from sighing with releif. Instead, he flickered his tail slightly and smiled genuinly up at the other. This was his first time meeting an apprentice, and he wanted to make a good first impression. Rolling his eyes and telling the other to shut his mouth wasn't the best start down that road. And so, instead, he stood patiently and waited for something to respond too. As the other finally spewed out some words that held meaning to the kitten, he puffed out his chest proudly and nodded. "Yes, I am waiting for my ceremony now." He then halted that and grinned with another wave of his tail. "I can't wait to move in! It'll be great to have my own nest, and get my mother's eyes if my back. She doesn't let me do anything fun!" he practically whined out the last comment before casting a nervy glance toward the nursery before settling back to his characteristic attitude as he didn't spot his mother. She may be protective, but she certainly was tough.

Ripplepaw smiled as the kit talked; It was obvious to him that Sunkit was eager to leave the Nursery. "I'll definitely attend your ceremony; It's really exciting, finally being able to take that next step!" He meowed, remembering his own ceremony.
"Oh, your mother? Well, she's probably just protective of you. She doesn't want you getting into trouble... I know that if I were a queen, I'd never take my eyes off of any of my kittens." He pointed out, before realizing what he had said. He coughed. "Not that I can be a queen, that is... just, if I were one." After pausing to let his embarrassment sink in, he continued. "Well, I'm sure your mother will realize that you're growing up and learn to let you go!" He promised. "Who is your mother?"

The kitten purred his approval and nodded enthusiastically. "Thank you! And so I shall attend your warriors' when it comes about" he decided with a nod, twitched his ears slightly. This cat seemed to be catching on to Sunkit's own enthusiasm, and he grinned slightly, glad he'd made the older cat happy to at least talk to little Ol' him of all.
At Ripplepaw's comment, he snickered slightly and smirked before forcing himself to keep in check. "Yes, she's very overprotective. It was understandable when we were little, and when it was still cold out. But surely she should let us out now, right?" then he just simply couldn't help himself. "I'm sure you'd make a lovely queen" he affirmed with an amused glint in his eyes, tail waving slightly. He grinned at the other slightly before looking serious, though he did still look quite amused. "My mother is Sandstone. Which makes my father her mate, Soruceclaw." he smiled at this, quite liking his parents. He was almost a mirror image of his mother, except smaller for now of course. Though once he was a warrior, he'd be bigger than her, with broader shoulders. Big and tough and strong!
