I let out a quiet yawn and stretched, early morning rays of sunshine making me blink. I reached up to rub an eye with a paw, hoping I could somehow magically rub away the sleepiness. I supposed not, considering I was still tired even after about three eye rubs. I stretched instead, body arching before I started to trot into the front of the nursery. I was hopeful that I find someone who'd play with me. |

Orchidkit had found herself quickly falling into a routine. It made sense, almost. She liked certainty, and logic, after all. She disliked repetition, however - she found it tedious. She nearly envied her denmates. They seemed to have no problem with the monotonous, daily procedure. Briefly, the kitten wondered whether having friends would change that. Her eyes rested upon a larger kitten. They seemed to be waiting for something. Orchidkit waited herself for a few heartbeats, then, curiosity getting the better of her, she approached them. A soft smile gracing her muzzle, she dipped her petite head in silent greeting. "Hello," she murmured, her voice barely loud enough to be heard. She sat, her tail winding around her forepaws. Waiting.

I turned at the sound of a voice, cocking my head in curiosity as striped tail flicked, showing my interest. "Hello," I repeated back, moving forwards on white mitted paws. I gave the kitten a friendly sniff before sitting back, a slow smile sliding onto my face. "Ever play mossball? You look a little young, but learning earlier is always better!" I said with an excited swish of a tail. "So, what do you say to it? Yes?" |

Orchidkit's pupils widened with interest, and she nodded slowly. Despite herself, a wide smile, relentlessly, formed on her muzzle. Someone wanted to play with her! The kitten had never truly bothered to interact with others - she was an introvert by nature, keeping to herself and her thoughts. She was always musing over something or other, lost in the labyrinth of yet another reverie. And yet, instantly, the kitten knew she preferred others' company to solitude. "'M' Orchidkit," she stated. Her lilac eyes flickered, and the tip of her spiky tail twitched. "What's mossball?" Orchidkit dared to query in nothing more than a mumble; it was all she could muster in her embarrassment. Absently, her eyes wandered to a stray clump of moss a mouse-length away. She knew what moss was, but how would they make a game out of it?
