Aspenpaw walked in to the Apprentices den. Was he supposed to feel proud? Walk in with his chest puffed out and his head held high? He didn't feel special... he didn't feel anything really. He supposed it was finally nice to be an apprentice, as the nursery was becoming boring and bothersome, but what was the difference about this den? Sure, he was training, and that was cool, but he knew next to nobody. Well, exept for Redpaw...
Redpaw! Aspenpaw looked around for his friend, although he didn't see him. There's one pro to this promotion. He thought. Maybe he could make friends with some more apprentices, but Redpaw was a good start. Aspenpaw wondered where his nest was located, because maybe he could make one next to him... Well, it didn't really matter. He would just find a unused spot.
Looking around, he didn't see any apprentices in the den at all, so Aspenpaw decided to pick a random place and began to make a nest for himself. Okay, sure, he still didn't feel all that proud, but he had to admit that this was a start. Being an apprentice was a start. A start at becoming something, not that he knew what that something was. Just... something. [ Redfang and anyone else who wants to roleplay is welcome to!]

Redpaw entered the apprentices' den with a sigh; he was bored, as was often the case when he wasn't training, and he found that when he got bored, he got tired. He didn't notice the other cat in the den until he'd nearly walked into him, and then it was only because the cat was right in front of his nest. He recognized the tom almost instantly; a playful smirk grew on his muzzle, and he swatted Aspenpaw's ears with his tail. "Fancy seeing you here," he said, then glanced downward and realized the other cat had begun to make his nest. "Making your nest right next to mine? It's almost like you think we're friends."

Aspenpaw felt the presence of another cat, followed by his ears being swatted. He turned around, slightly annoyed that some stranger would just randomly approach him in such away, but his features softened when he recognized it was only Redpaw.
"Hey Redpaw! ...Wait, this is your nest?" He asked in fake innocence, flicking his tail to the nest next to his. "Well, sorry to give you the wrong impression. I definitely don't want a nest next to you. I better move it..." Aspenpaw told him, his features becoming smug. "Oh, but with you teasing me, it's almost like you want to be friends! However, my friend group is limited and I think I'm full, so..." Aspenpaw didn't have a single friend besides Redpaw. "...I think, maybe, I can make room for you. That is... if you want me to."

Redpaw rolled his eyes, feigning exasperation, though he couldn't quite keep the playful spark from appearing in his gaze. "Why would I want that?" he asked, circling Aspenpaw until he stood directly in front of the other tom. As always, of course, Redpaw's grin exposed the act for what it was, and again he lashed out with his tail, swiping at Aspenpaw's muzzle. "Congrats on your apprenticeship, you annoying fur ball," he said with a laugh, happy that his friend had finally moved out of the nursery. "I was starting to think you'd stay a kit forever."

Aspenpaw grinned at the other tom, grateful for the praise. "Thanks. And honestly, I thought that too. It was getting far too boring in there." He admitted. "The real wait is going to be from now until we get our warrior ceremonies." He sighed. He almost wished he could just skip being and apprentice, but he understood that he needed the training and wasn't old enough. "So, how have things been? How's your training progress? Make any friends since I last saw you?"

Redpaw nodded in silent agreement; he was close, so very close, to becoming a warrior, and the mere thought of it sent a jolt of excitement racing through his body. He met Aspenpaw's torrent of questions with a grin, and mischief once again flooded his icy blue eyes. "Things have been fantastic, of course. How could they not be, when I'm as amazing as I am?" he asked, his grin shifting into a wry smirk. "And, of course, I've made my share of friends. I'm surprised you even had to ask; who wouldn't want to be friends with me?" He leaned forward as he finished speaking, bringing himself about a mouse length from his friend, as though what he were about to say was extremely conspiratorial. "Hope that doesn't make you jealous," he said with a wink and a playful laugh.
