PLOT! PLOT? PLOOOTTTT!! [FOR REAL, ANNOUNCEMENT POST]

Aahh, yes, I know you all love those clickbait titles, just like I'm a buzzfeed writer or a 15 year old vlogger on Youtube. :v)


Anyway, the title is NOT  lie, it IS REAL. We AREEE have a PLLOOOTTT. After the start of the avalanche in Iceclan, and the whispers of plots elsewhere, I got thinking. Why don't we do plots here more often? Or recently? Like, Treeclan is the BIGGEST Clan right now...I think. It feels that way. I've loved seeing so many new names pop up and evolve in my Clan the past few months. It's sad, on a level, because I don't see some familiar names, but I've loved reading various threads by y'all and remembering how much fun it is to evolve chars like you guys. Anyway, wow, rambled.


Plot.


We are branching off from the Iceclan Avalanche(TM) and doing something that isn't an avalanche but related to one. Obviously if there's a giant avalanche on a mountain, humans are going to know about it, and want to search for survivors/bodies. So, our plot isn't that we're having an avalanche...since we aren't on a mountain...But rather, Treeclan is going to be the "home" of some rescue worker humans that are searching the mountains (or this area, I guess) for other people, be it dead or alive. With them they have brought some loud, obnoxious dogs. 

For ONE WEEK, starting TOMORROW (1 PM Eastern Standard Time), humans will be setting up a base camp along our border with Iceclan. I will make an RP post about this where I'll explain it in character and tell y'all what to do for the next week. Basically, Treeclan can't hunt or patrol the Iceclan-side of our territory. Which means less prey, and no border patrols. What if Iceclan sneaks through and invades? Oooh. (Spoiler, they won't). But something will happen. I don't WANT to say what it is yet, but, I want to give you guys time to think about this to sign up for it.

After one week of Treeclanners avoiding the loud two-legs and their dogs, we'll finally send a patrol to the border. On that patrol will be one Treeclan staff member (probably myself, Arrow, Lion, or Spotted, unless Sorrel or Meadow want to do this), and FIVE other cats. At least three of these cats will be warriors. After all, this patrol is going to where two-legs and dogs are. I won't be dumb enough in character to send a bunch of apprentices. On that patrol, a couple of dogs will attack. During the attack ONE cat will die on the spot. After the battle, the dogs' owners will show up. Upon seeing a bunch of tired/injured cats, they will begin to capture the patrol. Four of the cats (including the dead one) will be taken away by the humans to be treated by a vet in the Two-leg Place. The fifth cat will manage to flee to tell the Clan what happened.

For ANOTHER week the 3 survivors of the dog account will be stuck in the Two-leg Place. I would say they'd be stuck in a vet for the whole week, but I don't feel like a lot of kittypets would be there, too. So we're going to pretend that after 1 day the survivors escape, but are in a weird, unknown section of the two-leg place that they have to get out of to get home. After the week of RP'ing in the two-leg place they can come home. From there how they are is up to you. Want PTSD forever? Do it. Want to feel motivated and find a mate or something? Do it. Want to learn to love the life of a kittypet and leave the Clan later in life? Do it. 


So just to repeat the schedule:
The following schedule has been revised since the announcement made on the 30th to move everything back by one week!

Tomorrow, March 24th, 1 PM EST: Word comes to Spiderstar of two-legs living on the Iceclan border, with dogs. I'll make an IN CHARACTER thread where Spiderstar orders the Clan what they can and cannot do.
Saturday, April 9th: Spiderstar will send a patrol of FIVE cats to the Iceclan border after everyone staying away from it for a week. Dogs will attack the patrol and one cat will die on the spot. Immediately afterwards all but one of the survivors will be taken away to be treated for their injuries by the humans. One cat will die of their injuries, and one will escape the captures and will go back to the camp to inform the Clan.
Tesday, April 12th - Sunday April 17th: The captured survivors will RP in the Twolegplace board. They cannot RP in Treeclan during this time, at all, and they will RP together (and maybe with kittypets) to try and find their way home/survive in the city. Nobody else will die during this time. Simultaneously, the Clan will send some patrols throughout the territory to find traces of them, and maybe I'll even send a patrol or two to go to the Canyon and Plains boards to talk to loners/rogues to see if they saw our survivors. IF you guys want that I'll do it. If not the rest of the Clan will RP the same way they do this upcoming week with the humans occupying the Iceclan border.
Sunday April 17th: The survivors will return home.
Monday, April 18th: The humans will leave the border and we go back to normal.


Alright, that's it FOR NOW. Nobody, for now, will sign up for anything. Those will be opened up tomorrow after I finalize details of the plot with the rest of the TC staff. If you want to participate but don't want to die, don't sign up for that spot. It's going to have its own spot. So don't be concerned. And, yes, I know, apprentices don't get as many spots. I'm sorry. But look at it this way; this is kind of a challenge for you to become a warrior ASAP. Also I would personally love to be an apprentice who sees his clan-mates die/be captured or be captured himself, because that'd be GREAT for character growth at a young age.


So there we go. This thread is not locked so you can ask questions. Please remember that this is an OOC (Out Of Character) thread, so you do not need to (and really shouldn't tbh) roleplay. During tomorrow's meeting you can RP your little heart out. If you guys want me to change the schedule around a bit I can, nothing is set in stone (except the meeting tomorrow). Also, guys, please PLEASE don't sign up to be one of the kidnapped/dead cats if you're not going to be around on this character/VWW for a bit either due to quitting or for Spring Break or something. I love you all and want you to have fun, but don't hog a spot to die because you hate your character, and don't try to be on the patrol if you KNOW you're going to be gone. And if you learn you're going to be gone after signing up and being accepted, tell me. There will be more plots in the future (I actually have another one ready for a month or two away) that you can participate in then.

Alright, here's the sign ups! PLEASSEE do not sign up unless you are POSITIVE that you will be active for the next 2 and a half weeks in general and on the specific character. If you don't RP on your character much and don't think you even can while participating, please don't sign up, especially for a death spot.

For those who sign up for a death spot, please keep in mind that changing your mind isn't..really an option. If you end up not wanting to kill off your character, just bail out of the plot so I can find someone else. It's a huge decision, so put some time and thought into it. Sign ups don't close for a few days so that you have time to consider being a spirit or not. Weigh the pros and cons.

If you post your application here, there's almost a 100% chance that it will be denied, or just not seen. If you don't know how to PM two people at once, ask me and I'll help you! I really don't mind! I didn't know you could do that until a little while ago and it's apparently been a function for quite some time. Alright, have fun. Remember, apprentices and warriors only!


Oh, and Spiderstar is going to be the staff character involved in the plot. Maybe he'll lose his first life. Maybe not. That depends on how well your character helps him in the dog fight.

UPDATE:

I have come to the conclusion that I did not give you guys enough time to prepare and think about signing up. After getting not many applications, I am extended every part of the plot by one week. Instead of the patrol going out on Saturday, it will go out Saturday the 9th, and I will formally close applications this upcoming Sunday.

Again, please only sign up in general if you know you will be active during the extended times. If you've applied and cannot make it during the new time, please send another PM cancelling your application.

For those that are applying to die, please keep in mind that Arrow and I are checking to see past activity on your account. Saying you think dying will make you be more active, even though the account hasn't been active for weeks or months, is not convincing. We don't want spirits that won't RP. That's why the spirit boards are dead. If you can't be active as a living cat, in a Clan filled with active people, do you really think you're going to make a semi-active place active? No.
