MosskitLittlekit shifted awkwardly as he peered around the corner of the apprentices' den. Nooo, he wasn't getting in trouble, honestly! He was just.. curious. This was the most awkward day Littlekit had so far in his extraordinarily young life. So, he was the child of Autumndust and some unknown vigilante. Not a vigilante, a random cat. That sounded a lot better.
His bright green eyes were wide with childlike innocence, and as he heard paw steps coming around the corner, Littlekit prepared himself for some sucking up to do. He knew he wasn't supposed to be in the apprentices' den, but c'mon. He was curious.

Mosskit was so unlike her mother that sometimes she wondered if she was truly the daughter of Autumndust. Autumn was quiet, careful, and overall a really good cat. Mosskit had the ability to be quiet in her sleep...although not careful, and only a good cat if judged entirely off of loyalty and kindness. She had the knack of getting herself into trouble rather easily due to her nosiness and impatient personality. Not long ago she had gotten a thorn in her paw because she tried to climb a tree...which was next to a thorn bush..that she fell into.
Had she learned from that? No. Of course not. Great adventurers did not let a minor fallback end their journeys! Mosskit had seen her brother, Littlekit, sneaking to the Apprentices' Den. She was so proud of him. And happy. Because now she wouldn't be the only one to get in trouble for snooping around the den. She crept up behind her brother and grinned as she turned the corner to look at him.
"Well, well, well, what do we have here?" She asked in a mock annoyed voice, imitating her mother in the best of her abilities.

"Well, well, well, what do we have here?"
Littlekit blanched, stumbling in shock and letting out this pathetic sounding squeak of fear. " Wh- wh- Mom?!" his incredulous voice sounded like it was trembling slightly. Whirling around, Littlekit almost began to beg for forgiveness. Which would not be really that sincere, but oh well. His curiosity got the best of him! He swore! However, as he faced the front, Littlekit was faced with the visage of his eldest sister, Mosskit.
" Dang you Mosskit! " he moaned, wanting to just shrivel up into a tiny little speck of himself and die of mortification. " Oh CloudClan you'll never let me live this down. "

Mosskit truly could have died then. The sound Littlekit let out was by far the best thing she'd ever heard, and she once heard an owl hoot for a solid like seven seconds. It was eerie. She loved it. But this, oh man, this was great. She didn't move as he turned to look at her, she just kept smiling at him. Cloudclan, what a wimp. She ought to teach him to sneak around more, maybe then he wouldn't act like a cat with greencough whenever he got caught.
After a second she stopped smiling and poked him with one big brown paw playfully. "Oh, don't worry, I'm going to keep it a secret...well, for as long as we can be punished for this." She said soothingly, padding forward to look inside the den. "So, the Apprentices' Den. Were you looking to see what our future home looks like, or are you scouting our some cute she-cats ?" She asked nonchalantly, not even considering the level of inappropriate her question had.

Good CloudClan that grin was creepy. A little unnerved, Littlekit stared at his sister with an unimpressed look. " This moment will be forever in my nightmares. " He moaned, and swatted back at his sister when she poked him. Then he looked horrified. " No, please Mosskit! " he pleaded, green eyes wide in terror. " It's going to mess up my reputation, " Littlekit shivered lightly. " and Mom'll kill me if she found out that I messed around in the leader's den and almost got caught! "
Crap! He hadn't meant to reveal that! Blanching slightly, he stammered out his next answer. " Er, uh, " He stared at Mosskit incredulously. " Moooosskiiiit!! " he groaned in embarrassment. " I was curious, okay? "
Then he got into her face with a terrified look. " Don't tell Spiderstar, please! He'll kill me! "

With every high pitched, pre-pubescent word that escaped her brother, an extra moon was added to Mosskit's life. She could literally feel his embarrassment and panic turning into energy for her own life. Like food, but even tastier. Nightmares, begging, reputation, Spiderstar and his den. Agh. So gorgeous. So sweet. So innocent. She let the poor little hairball ramble on as she crept further into the den, although not necessarily entering. Cats appeared to be in there. That or the beds were moving. Maybe they were. Apprentices always seemed a bit haunted, so maybe spirits lived in here.
Eventually she got tired of Littlekit being so loud, so she turned to face him. "Listen, little bro, you're fine. Do you think I, of all of the cats in the forest, am going to tell on you for sneaking? That'd be like an exiled warrior going up to Spiderstar and tattling on another exiled warrior. And yes, I did just called you an exiled warrior. I'm SURE this will get you exiled." She purred, brushing his shoulder with her gigantic fluffy tail.
"Aw, we could make our own Clan once we're exiled together. Maybe we can get Cloudkit and Acornkit to join us!" She purred jokingly, turning back to the den. "This place is boring, and possibly haunted. Let's go somewhere else." She suggested, looking back to see if he approved.

Taking a much-needed breath of air, Littlekit fell silent at her little monologue. Though with her third sentence, his eyes grew a little wider with every word that escaped her mouth. " Exiled? " he practically squeaked out, his eyes as big as miniature moons. He shrank into the ground more, but as they continued to creep along the floor like tiny little ninjas, Littlekit felt his curiosity growing. Hey, he might be a wimp, but he was a sneaky wimp!
A small giggle escaped him at his sister's joke, then looked mortified. Tomcats do not giggle! They, uh, they.. They laughed! That sounded about right! Wait, did she just say haunted? Like haunted? Feeling a little unnerved, Littlekit looked at his sister with a perfectly straight face. " Please tell me you didn't just say haunted. And yes! " Littlekit agreed quietly with gusto, his bright green eyes flicking around the den nervously. Even the thought of ghosts, spirits, whatever they were, creeped him out. " Let's go. "

Mosskit was happy that Little agreed to move on to a new destination. The Nursery and Apprentices' Den were easily the most..well, maybe not boring, but the less appealing ones. The elders probably took claim of the most boring. And the most dusty...and morbid. Eeehh. She chuckled at her brother's comments on the haunted bit of her observations. "Well, haunted things aren't BAD things. I mean, what if Beechstar visited the Nursery. That'd technically be him being haunting us, but it'd be cool, right?" She asked as she walked away from the den.
She actually wasn't sure where to go. She had visited almost every den aside from the Medicine Den, and as much as she'd love to sneak around there, the smells of all the herbs made her nose run. She sighed and looked at her younger brother. "Any ideas? I've seen almost every den. They're all dark and filled with moss and hair." She said dryly, wishing that dens were more exciting and not so cramped. This is why she planned to sleep outside.

The nervous look on Littlekit's face slowly disappeared as they walked away from the apprentices' den. Euh. Haunted things. Littlekit shivered. Even the thought of them creeped him out immensely. At the thought of Beechstar visiting the Nursery, he blanched and felt a little nauseous. Ghosts. No way! " Uhm.. Suuuure. " Littlekit drawled out with a deadpan look at his elder sister.
For a moment, a mischievous look flashed onto Littlekit's face before it disappeared. " Umm.. Only place I haven't seen is the Medicine Den, and outside, obviously. " He plastered an innocent look on his face. " What do you think, Mosskit? "

Mosskit was not one to back down from a challenge. Even though she knew her nose would probably run a lot, which was gross, she couldn't just back down. Plus, this was Littlekit's suggestion, LITTLEKIT'S! She definitely had to say yes. She forced herself to look pumped up and nodded. "Let's go, you can lead, big shot." She said deviously, pointing towards the Medicine Den with one paw.
She enjoyed spending time with Littlekit. Despite his wimpy, innocent personality, he was a cool kid. A cool brother. She was proud.
