The air was thick and still, but, thankfully, Woollyfoot didn't have to breathe it. In fact, he didn't have to breathe at all. When he'd first died, it had come as a shock. He could fill his lungs with air, but he had no need to. So, as he sat beside Llamafuzz, waiting, he was completely and utterly still. "It's taking them long enough," he retorted in annoyance. They'd waited for what felt like days for the two apprentices to fall asleep, but then again, the dead had no sense of time either. Well, at least Darkpool didn't. It was eternally dark and creepy. Finally, their scent reached him. They'd chosen the two apprentices because, out of all of Robinstar's kits, they showed the most potential. And, they had been easily malleable as kittens. As the bushes began an to rustle, the blue-gray and white tomcat glanced towards Llamafuzz.

Snap-paw was walking beside Edgepaw, emotions churning inside him. He was excited now that Edgepaw was an apprentice and finally alongside him, but Iceclan's current state, not to mention the fact that he was about to have his first trainin session in the Dark Pool made him anxious. Would he be any good? He knew Woollyfoot and Llamafuzz thought they were talented, but Edgepaw had always seemed readier than he was; more able to fight and protect.
"What do you think they'll make us do?" He mused thoughtfully as they padded through the bushes. He was saved from speculating himself when the two dead kitties appeared in a clearing in front of them, and he drew his breath. "Evening sirs....Nice night isn't it?" He looked around and winced. "Actually that's a lie, it's positively ghastly here, but at least Edgepaw's sunny personality should lighten this place up a bit, ayyy?"

When Edgepaw had woken in the all too familiar Darkpool forest alongside Snap-paw, he knew what they'd been summoned for. Their first training session. They had been clearly waiting until both of the brothers were apprentice-aged, but still—Edgepaw hadn't realized it would come this fast. He walked next to his brother, bumping into shoulder every once in a while on purpose. He wasn't scared—well, maybe a little, but of course he'd never let that show—but he wanted to make sure Snap-paw was reminded that he was there so that his brother wouldn't be frightened. He glanced in the brown-and-white tom's direction as he spoke.
"I don't know, honestly," he responded, keeping his voice low. He wasn't sure what night terrors could be hiding in the dark where the two youngsters' eyes couldn't reach. He felt an odd sensation as if someone was watching him. "Fighting, I'm assuming. I wonder what their motive for doing this is. They didn't exactly tell us last time," he said with a huff, referring to the last time they'd met with the two spirits. As they approached the small clearing, Edgepaw's eyes began to adjust to the darkness and he could make out the two familiar forms. He let Snap-paw do the polite introductions, saying a 'hello' before looking curiously about the area and sniffing here and there.
When he heard his name he returned to the conversation, raising his chin. "Yeah, so sunny." He gave his brother a playful glare before returning his attention to Woollyfoot and Llamafuzz. The two hadn't aged one bit—though he'd expected as much, it still came as a surprise considering how much he and his brother had grown. "So, how are we going to do this? Are we going to preform little tricks for you and you'll give us tips or what?" He asked, watching them with a strong, level gaze. He pricked his ears for an answer.

I am Pretty "Be a little patient dear," Llama scolded, though his own tail was twitching with impatience. He was saying it more so for the pleasure of telling Woollyfoot off. Luckily his partner didn't have a chance to respond, as the apprentices appeared.
The tom straightened his spine, examining the two charges. He could smell the nerves on them and his nose wrinkled in distaste. Hopefully the fear disappeared quickly. At least he liked Snap-paw's 'sirs'. "We'll do battle training. Square off and begin immediately." The tom smiled, revealing pointed fangs. "Continue until someone surrenders."

Woollyfoot sent a glare in Llamafuzz's direction, but it seemed it was lost on him as the apprentice's arrived. The air was filled with nerves, anticipation, and what he hoped was excitement. He flicked his snake-like tail as he stood, studying the two as the emerged from the dark undergrowth. They'd certainly grown since they last met them in person, but it was nothing new, as he and his companion had been watching them from Darkpool.
He tilted his head as they greeted them—or at least one did. Edgepaw got straight to the point, though Woolly couldn't tell if he was eager or just straightforward. Llamafuzz spoke, explaining what the two were to do. He was interested to see who would win—brother against brother. "And don't be afraid to use your claws!" He reminded them, blending slightly into the background as he circled the pair.

"Fight? But fight what?" He murmured thoughtfully. "A tree? Spirits? How would that even work, wont our paws just go through them?" He was expressing his nerves through speech, tapping his paws on the ground to work out the extra energy.
He had his answer soon enough and noticeably balked at the idea of hurting his brother. Well, it wasn't like it was a serious fight, so it'd probably be ok. He turned to face Edgepaw hesitantly and fell into a semi-battle stance, hs claws still sheathed. "We sure about this?" He whispered to the tom.

Edgepaw waited for an answer, and he had to admit he was nervous. Though, unlike his brother, he didn't knead the ground. Instead, he paced back and forth, his face remaining flat as he thought. He paused when Llamafuzz spoke, pricking his ears. They were to fight. Fight… fright what, them? Like Snap-paw, he was confused.
He turned to his brother once he finally understood. They were to fight each other. Naturally over-protective, Edge was hesitant. Woollyfoot and Llamafuzz seemed like they wanted a winner, to prove which brother was stronger, but he didn't think he could actually hurt Snap. "So, what, you want to prove who's stronger or something? Clearly me," he said with a grin in his brother's direction. "We did it all the time as kits, right?" He said under his breath, crouching down.

FORGIVE YOUR ENEMIES BUT NEVER FORGET THEIR NAME
"Careful brother," Snap-paw teased. "If your head gets any bigger it wont fit in the apprentice den anymore." He found it easier to worry aloud, and even though he wasn't talking about the actual problem, Edgepaw was helping. It didn't look like Edgepaw was eager to fight either, but knowing his brother's prowess, Snap was sure that would disappear soon. He didn't resent Edgepaw for that, his brother was a natural fighter, just like Snap-paw excelled at hunting. He'd never feared Edgepaw, because he was so protective and kind, but he had no delusions about who would win in a battle. That didn't mean he wasn't going to face Edgepaw with his best.
If they were supposed to fight, he would given them one hell of a show. "Alright, fine. Bring it on brother," the tabby challenged with a grin, tail lashing. He was probably taking this as seriously as he was able, but there wasn't much in the world that could completely squash his cheerful spirit.
TAG: @taghere ╳ NOTES: I don't think Llama has much to say until after the fight, or until something happens during it so I'll just move the fight along :3
