Quailpaw RookpawDuskrise admittedly had never anticipated anything remotely like this. Iceclan had taken up residence in a barn basically. Robinstar wanted him to take a pair of apprentices to explore the area about the barn, though it seemed to be mostly meadow. He didn't know what he'd find, since it was an entirely new sort of terrain for him. Regardless, he figured it was time to get started. He moved towards to where Rookpaw's nest had ended up. "Hey. Rookpaw." He called. "We have to go on patrol."

Rookpaw stirred in his nest, his whole body aching. Training had been even harder on him, due to the injures and stressed he suffered in the avalanche, but luckily he hadn't lost any limbs or gotten too sick. He had a small cold, but it was nothing that needed immediate treatment. "I'm coming, I'm coming," he meowed, groaning as he got onto his worn-raw paws. He winced a bit, but quickly got used to the soft stinging as he padded forward. "Soooo," he drawled, yawning as he approached the older tom, "you're, um, Duskrise, right? Nice to meetcha," he voice was groggy from sleep, but still retaining his usual cheerfulness.

Duskrise personally had not sustained any injuries from the avalanche.
He counted himself lucky. The worst he received was a sudden outburst of stress which was perfectly understandable. Though he still felt a bit... Off. His breath tended to shake at the most random of times. He found his eyes wandering without his consent and it was... Unnerving.
He backed up a bit. "A-Ah! Yep. That's me." He hesitated, before briefly nodding his head in acknowledgement that he heard Rookpaw's words. "Erm, we still need Quailpaw. One moment!" He trotted awkwardly over to where Quailpaw was and nudged them.

Completely forgetting my patrol duties, I slept in, tired from the day before. Scratch that—I was tired from everything, especially the avalanche. It took me a moment to wake up even when Duskrise nudged me, but I forced myself onto my paws with a soft groan. "Eurgh..." I mumbled drowsily, my eyes threatening to shut again. When I realized both Duskrise and Rookpaw were waiting for me, I forced myself to my feet and blinked the sleep away, heading towards them. "Hi."@//youguys - 92 - sorry late!

"'Morning, dormouse," Rookpaw teased in greeting, "have a nice sleep?" he grinned, his words being good-natured despite their mocking tone. His sleek black tail lashed happily, and he dipped his head in greeting to make sure Quailpaw knew that he wasn't actually ridiculing him. The apprentice always liked to start the day off with some light humor, it was better than roaming around half-asleep in his opinion.
Although, now that he was more awake, a part of him began to get a bit self conscious about the gash across his muzzle. He wasn't usually the type to be shy, but having such a prominent scar on his features made his stomach feel bubbly and even somewhat ashamed. Not liking the feeling, Rookpaw turned on his heels and faced the direction he suspected the patrol would be headed. His teeth clenched instinctively together when he preformed the action, his sore paw-pads stinging. Gotta remember to go easy on those, he noted, before speaking up to the two. "Alrighty!" he meowed, glancing over his shoulder to see what the other two toms were up too, "guess it's time to get going now, right?" he quirked a nicked ear questioningly to the side as he awaited an answer.

Duskrise smiled at Quailpaw.
Though, it was slightly more awkward than it would've been normally. The young apprentice seemed a bit drowsy still, but seemed to be on his way to sorting himself out. His eyes focused on Rookpaw's movement, turning to face a direction. What was the meaning of the direction? His thoughts began to move off onto a tangent that he couldn't help but get just a bit lost in, before being brought back by a sharp meow from Rookpaw.
After a strange pause, he nodded violently at the two apprentices. "Yep! It's that time. The time to go. Let's go. It's go... Time..." From his first word, Duskrise began to pad off, his pace somewhat erratic, shifting between walking and running, creating an awkward march as he stumbled over his words. Still, he was leading the two apprentices on patrol. It'd be fine.
