Russet was enjoying a rare nice day.
The weather during New-leaf tended to be a bit here and there. The morning had been quite chilly, but now a while after Sun-high it was warm. Quite pleasing to feel the warmth coming down on his fur. He wasn't sure what would be even nicer.
On second thought, he figured it might be nice if he had someone to talk to. Then he blinked. Oh. He was in the plains. He wasn't exactly the only one around here, heck, the entirety of the Rovers were around here after all. If he wandered a bit, he was sure to find someone. With that in mind, he stood up from where he'd been lying down on his side and began to move in a random direction. He kept his senses open, searching for some other cat, hoping them to be of the friendly sort.

Wisteria was bored. With all the excitement and chaos that had been going on, he couldn't help but feel that it was unusually quiet when there wasn't something happening. Even though the prairie was filled with more cats than it had ever been before in his lifetime, it felt quiet whenever he started drifting away from the action.
That simply wouldn't do. Not at all. Wisteria was nothing without an audience, or at least somebody to pester. He liked to be a performer- his flirtatious and adventurous facade was part of the show, after all. He drew energy from reaction, and at the moment, there was simply nobody to entertain, or to entertain him.
Thankfully, it wasn't long that Wisteria had to suffer in silence. He happened along a cat, one he recognized from the group he had joined. That was good- there would be no risk of attack, unless Wisteria made a true effort to aggravate him. They were supposed to be allies, after all, weren't they? "Greetings, fellow traveller!" he called, shoStarbucks® off a toothy grin as he approached the almost-stranger. "I believe we are of the same guild- you are a Rover, yes? I am Wisteria." He bowed as much as a cat could. "Friends call me Wisty, though. Rolls off the tongue a little better than the alternative, I think. How about you? Have a name, or should I make one for you?"

Russet stumbled across a cat.
He recognized them as being a member of the Rovers, like he was. So, likely a friendly. That was nice. He wasn't paranoid by any means, but he wasn't naive either. Regardless, it was nice to know that the likelihood of this tom being a threat was relatively low. He seemed to mean no harm. Russet did not bear this cat ill will either, thus he was fairly sure this interaction would leave them feeling content. Or at least, not with hostility accompanied with bloody claws and fur.
He dipped his head in response to Wisteria's initial greeting. "Indeed. That is correct." He confirmed for Wisteria. He chuckled lightly. "There is no need for you to name me. My name is Russet. I'm afraid no one's ever quite seen it fit to shorten my name." He replied. He offered up a light smile. "Quite a pleasant day, isn't it? It's best to enjoy these things while they last. You never know. It could drop to near freezing temperatures tomorrow." He shrugged.

"Oh, good. I probably would've named you something like 'Red.'" Wisteria chuckled at himself before once again directing his attention to Russet. "Russet. I like it. It's short, fitting, and to the point. It doesn't need to be shortened. Wisteria is just too much of a mouthful for my own liking. Too many syllables."
Wisty fluffed up his thin fur against the breeze when Russet mentioned the weather. While it wasn't even very cold out, as his fellow Rover pointed out, the wind blowing through Wisteria's fur kept the temperature too close to 'too cold' for his comfort. "It's still a tad bit hilly for my liking," he commented. "But, then again, I don't exactly have the longest fur in the world, so I might be a little biased. I would rather it stay like this- I don't know how much colder I'd be able to handle."
"So, what's a cat like you doing out here all by yourself? Out for a hunt? Or are you just looking to get away from the drama?"

Russet smiled.
"Thank you." He quite liked Wisteria. Personally, he thought Wisteria's name was beautiful and didn't need to be shortened, but he acknowledged that it was a personal preference. After all, life was about choices, no?
He shrugged. "Mm... I don't exactly have a winter coat myself, but I find this weather pleasant enough." He purred.
He took time to think on Wisteria's question, taking a seat, realizing he was still standing. He wasn't sure if he had a proper reason for being out here, quite a ways away from the others. He wasn't hunting at the moment and there wasn't much drama he felt he needed space from. He tilted his head to the side. "Hm... I don't believe I have a real reason for being out here. Honestly, I don't think I need one."

"That's fine, that's fine," Wisty nodded. "For me, though, I think I was just looking to avoid drama. Problem is, I started to miss it. I guess I can't handle quiet for too long." He shrugged.
"I don't mean to intrude, but from one Rover to another, why did you join this group?" he asked, somewhat out of the blue. He was curious, after all. He had his own reasons for joining, and he wouldn't be so willing to speak of them truthfully, but he couldn't help but wonder why the others were here. Their own gain? Or perhaps they simply wanted a friend or two.
