Today was a real crummy day, it was going to rain and she could sense it. She knew a lot of cats would be rushing inside as soon as the first rain drop fell. She on the other paw wasn't going to rushing to a den spot. She was going to let her clanmates stay dry while she stay in a carved out log that could fit two apprentices. Quickly she padded over to the fresh kill pile and grabbed a small bird and retreated to the log where she saw she wasn't alone. Another cat was resting in there. "Hello, I see I'm not the only one who decided to rest in this log." She meowed kindly. "I'm Willowpaw. And you?" She asked.

Mosskit loved hollow logs. They made great hiding spots to hide from mother, or her siblings..or cats looking for her for her devious acts. She blended in well, too. Kinda. Only at night, or during the rain. Oddly enough, it was about to rain, which was the real reason she was hiding this time. She didn't quite like the way her fur felt when flattened down by the rain. It felt heavy and gross. She was just watching the Clan bustle about when she heard a voice. To any other cat, hearing a sudden voice may startle them. But when you're hiding in a hollow log from the rain, sudden sounds are pretty common.
The tortoiseshell kitten looked over to see another she-cat, almost a warrior she was guessing, who had a bird and was looking at Mosskit. She smiled as the cat spoke. "Nope, this is a good spot. Well, for younger cats like us. I would love to see Spiderstar try to fit in here. He's so big he'd probably get stuck." She said, purring in amusement. "What's your name, or should I just call you Logpaw? She asked with a cheeky grin. "Oh, my name is Mosskit. Stick around after the rain and you may just see my namesake soaking up some of the water on the top of this old hiding log." She said, rambling on like some deranged elder.

Mistkit had no experience with logs.
As she gazed upwards, rain was already falling. It was light and felt more like how she imagined it would feel as if a cloud had come down to caress her fur. It felt rather... Nice. The clouds darkening the sky with gray wasn't unpleasant either. She wasn't sure how other cats felt, but she thought it was easier on the eyes rather than the blinding blue that often made it hard to look skywards most of the time, no matter how much she might want to. She suspected the sun's torching rays were at fault.
Mistkit thought it curious watching a cat bigger than her, possibly an apprentice, carry a bird into a log. Then noises started emanating from the log. Someone else was inside the log with the apprentice. She wondered who it was. Being able to present herself in a truly positive light to others was a challenge. However, she lived in a clan and she was fully aware that she could not simply spend her days watching the spiders and the rain. It was crucial for her to be able to not scare others away. She recalled her interactions with Acornkit, which had been less than satisfactory she felt for the other kit.
She approached the log and crouched down, not exactly crawling inside it, but being able to see both the apprentice and.... Mosskit. She was unsure if she would fit, thus, she elected to stay out in the rain. She managed to hear Mosskit call the apprentice Logpaw and ramble on. She wondered if so many ideas stringed together in a short time interval was normal in a conversation. "Hello, Mosskit." She meowed.

"Well glad I'm not the only one who thought this was smart." She said happily to them. She drew her attention to Mistkit and dipped her head respectfully. "If you didn't hear, I'm Willowpaw." She meowed to Mistkit directly. She then faced both of them realizing they were both kits. She hadn't realized it.
"Why aren't you two with your mother's?" She asked, she didn't want to be responsible for the two kits getting sick and then having an angry queen at her pelt all day. She then realized sending them back could get them sick. "Nevermind. I think it'd be smart to stay in here til the rain ends." She meowed more matter-of-factly.
She looked at both kits again, both close to four moons. Soon go be apprentices. "Are you excited for soon becoming apprentices?" She asked and then realzied she never ate any of the bird. "And would anyone like some prey?" She asked.

Mistkit privately was content with staying where she was.
"My name is Mistkit." She replied. She tilted her head to the side. "I am not with Autumndust because I am here." She didn't quite understand the question. It appeared to be clear she was not with Autumndust because the latter was not present. She simply gave a nod in response to Willowpaw's remark about the smarter decision.
She straightened herself out. "I... Believe that becoming an apprentice will open up many opportunities, one of which will be permission to leave camp." She meowed after taking a moment to think. She tilted her head to the side. "I have no need at the current moment to fill my stomach."

Willowpaw nodded at Mistkits comment. Her eyes gazed around looking for what else to say when Mistkit spoke of becoming an apprentice. "Being an apprentice does have it's pros and yet again its cons, but it's all worth it in the long run." She meowed, she had been an apprentice for a while now, but she was getting close, edging to the beginning of warrior hood.

Mistkit tilted her head to the side.
"You are still an apprentice... That's right, isn't it?" She inquired, but she didn't wait for an answer. "How can you confidently say that it's all worth it, if that part of your life isn't even in your past quite yet?"
