Spidermask
The rain had begun before the sun had set, but it had started at a soft drizzle. However, by the time the kittens and queens were asleep in their nests that smelled of hay and the delightful smells of the barn, it had started pattering against the roof of the barn. And by the time the whispers had stopped (though it was doubtful everyone was asleep) it was coming down in sheets against the black sky.
Because of this, Robinstar was wide awake. He was afraid that if he fell asleep he'd have fever-induced dreams, amplified by the rain that brought back such terrible memories. In fact, just sitting there, listening, was horrid for the leader. That was one thing he had liked about IceClan—it snowed. But out here in the land of his childhood, it only rained.
"Snap?" He asked softly, wondering if she was close enough to hear him over the rain. He broke off into a soft bought of coughing, his whole body shaking with the effort. Once it died down, a horrible thought entered his mind. Reese's grave. What if the avalanche destroyed it? He hadn't considered the possibility before, but the rain reminded him and it became all too real. He pricked his ears for a response.

Being in the barn had brought back many memories for Spidermask, most of them good ones. She had adjusted ffaster than most of the Iceclan cats, and if she weren't so worried about their snowy home, she'd probably be enjoying herself. Well, it wasnt only Iceclan that she was worrying about. Robbie's sickness was still a very well-kept secret, but she'd heard whispers of it and had to investigate.
"Robbie?" She whispered back, hearing the familiar sound of her name on Robinstar's tongue. Knowing exactly where her -friend? Mate? Leader?- slept, she headed his way. With a welcoming purr she cured around the tom, headbutting his shoulder gently. "Is something wrong? I heard you were sick." THIS IS THE NEW YEAR

The return of a voice, this one speaking his name, was like music to Robinstar's ears. He was sick and dehydrated and had started to believe some of his thoughts—specifically the memory of when Snap had left. "Yeah," he responded, after breaking out into a soft fit of coughing. He took a deep breath, and exhaled shakily. He needed a distraction, someone to talk to, to keep the terrible memories at bay, the ones that seemed so real.
"What...?" He asked, frowning. "Who did you hear that from?" He breath escaped his body as she curled around him, grateful the extra warmth. He leaned into her, his eyelids fluttering slightly. "I didn't want you to know. I knew you'd try and force me to take some herbs I don't need—want." He laughed, breaking off into more coughs.

Spidermask hummed worriedly when Robinstar leaned into her, though she accepted the weight gladly. It was a familiar pressure on her side, and she was surprised how much she'd missed it. The she-cat quietly began to groom the tom, subtly centing his pelt as she did to pick up any trace of the sickness. Not that she would be able to help much; she wasn't a medicine cat.
"A little birdie told me," she deflected with a skeptical frown. The she-cat was glad when he made the distinction between want and need. If he hadn't, and had actually tried to say he didn't need herbs she may have tried to throttle him. "Of course I'm going to try to force you to take something, you're pride will be the death of you. Quite literally at this rate," she scolded. "How are you going to care for the clan in this state? You can barely walk." THIS IS THE NEW YEAR
