Silentpaw relaxed as Hailpaw spoke, her fur lying back. "Thanks." She meowed tersly. She stared down at her paws, what was the beautiful thing about herself? She pushed the thought away and listened for Hailpaw to talk again.

Hailpaw sighed. "Oh, I can't wait to become a warrior. What about you?" 'I wonder if I'll miss the apprentices' den.' She couldn't imagine herself missing it, though maybe it'd be such a drastic change that she would.

Silentpaw chuckled a little, looking dully at herself. "I... I want to be a child while I still can, I'm not too worried about becoming a warrior." She said, sighing. She stared at Hailpaw and flicked her ears. "So, ya having a ceremony soon?" Silentpaw asked calmly.

She smiled softly. "I understand that. I just get so bored sometimes." Hailpaw responded, closing her eyes. It felt better that way and there was no point in having them open. She shrugged. "I don't know. Windswirl said I passed my assessment, so maybe."

Silentpaw tilted her head back, "Eh, all cats get bored. And I'll be at your ceremony." She replied, letting out a small laugh. The apprentice fluffed out her short black pelt and groomed it. "Well, I'm pretty sure since you passed, you're becoming a warrior." She added.

"You will be?" 'That's nice of her. I'll have to remember to be at hers, too.' Hailpaw cleared her throat. "So, Sli, what do you look like?" She hoped she was speaking to a black apprentice, since that way she would have a better idea of what Silentpaw looked like. It was kind of hard to imagine colors other than black.

Silentpaw smiled, the she-cat was grumpy, but not heartless. As Hailpaw spoke, Sli looked at herself briefly. "Well, I look like what you imagine me. But genetically, I'm the same color you see, but with little russet dashes under my eyes." She explained, her voice dull.

Hailpaw smiled. "You sound pretty." She thought black was a nice color, and russet sounded equally as pretty. "Thanks for telling me. It's kind of a weird question to ask someone, I guess." She pushed her head further into her paws, a little embarrassed. 'I hope she doesn't think I'm weird.' She didn't want a chance at losing a new friend.

Silentpaw snorted a bit, smiling. "Eh, thanks." She meowed modestly. "And everybody says weird things. Trust me on that." Silentpaw liked this company, and she wasn't lying on the weird topic. To her, everything about herself is strange.

"Alright." She lifted her head up to give a slight nod. 'But is that true? Is everyone weird in a way?' She hoped it was true. Silentpaw seemed pretty sure of it, after all. She was quiet for a moment, trying to think up of a conversation starter. "You said that you and Flintpaw train together. Do you two get along well?"

"Not really, to me, we're on a neutral kind of relationship. But yeah, we don't get on another's nerves that much." Silentpaw said, ruffling her fur out. Flintpaw hadn't made the best impression on her, but he was a training companion. She licked her paw and swiped it over her ear, "You've met nice people, I suppose?"

"Oh. Well, at least you're not enemies. Things will get better." She assured, wondering why the two were only neutral. She had thought Flintpaw was a funny cat, though maybe he acted different with Silentpaw. She nodded again when she was questioned. "Yeah, my brother's nice. There's also Raggedwolf who's pretty great." She paused, trying to think of other names to say. "Sandstone is nice too, though we haven't talked much lately."

Silentpaw listened as she continued to groom herself. Her ears perked up at the mention of Sandstone. She nodded happily, "Nice your more social than me, ya' even met my mum." She said, "And I should meet the others, they seem nice coming from your tone."

"Sandstone is your mother?" Her voice was full of shock, but it was followed by a warm purr. "Spruceclaw must be your father then, yes? They're lucky to have you as a daughter." 'I can't believe Sandstone had kits!'

Silentpaw turned a bit red, chuckling. "Yeah, even though I don't know them well." She said, shuffling her paws. She did talk to Sandstone, but never really grew a strong bond, same with Spruceclaw. She smiled sheepishly at Hailpaw.
