Hailpaw was resting on top of a large rock, head rested on her paws. It was a calm and quiet day, perfect for a catnap. In her early apprenticeship she tried and failed to climb this particular rock, but now she was lounging on it with a strong sense of accomplishment. 'I may not know how to hunt or fight, but at least I can climb rocks!' She smiled at the thought. 'I wonder if any other apprentices will try to climb this rock...'

Silentpaw was enjoying the peace of camp, no kits to bother her anymore. She had decided to sit on the rock her and Sunkit adventured on. But apparently the spot was taken by another apprentice. "Greetings." She meowed, eyes tired and dull. "Your on my spot."

Hailpaw raised her head, flicking an ear at the sound of a voice. "I am? I had no idea." She shuffled over to the side and sniffed the air, wanting to see if she recognized the stranger. 'Hm.. Maybe in the den, once or twice?' "Well, you're welcome to join me."

Silentpaw stared at the older apprentice as she moved, allowing Silentpaw to sit in her normal spot on the rock. She did recognize the cat, but never bothered to know her name. "Thanks, Aurora." She meowed, rather happy with her name for the stranger.

'Aurora?' Was that some new kind of slang term? She shrugged it off. "No problem." Hailpaw settled back down into her former position, getting comfortable before she spoke again. "May I have your name?"

Silentpaw shifted her paws around to get comfortable, sitting down awkwardly. "I call myself Sli." She replied, licking her right paw and swiping it over her ear. She didn't know what to say, so she let Auroua talk.

"Sli...?" She couldn't tell if this cat was lying or not. She decided not to ask. Maybe she had a strange name because she wasn't from RockClan. Hailpaw sighed. "You're an apprentice, right?" She hoped so. 'Sli better not be a warrior, or else that was awfully rude of me to ask!'

Silentpaw looked awkwardly at the other apprentice, flicking her ears. "Yeeaahhh, I'm an apprentice, I'm smaller than you, can't you see?" She asked, not realizing that Auruoa was blind. The apprentice lived under a rock when it came to health.

"Well, no, I can't." She flicked an ear, hoping Silentpaw would catch on. "How's your training going?" She asked, trying to start a conversation. The she-cat said she was smaller than her, but Hailpaw couldn't recall a 'Sli' getting a ceremony. She flattened her ears in embarrassment, realizing she hadn't yet introduced herself. "I'm Hailpaw by the way."

Silentpaw cocked her head to the side, not really understanding. She shrugged it off and answered her question, "Me and Flintpaw haven't had a training session yet." She had started a small self-training session with her fellow trainee, but that was it. "Oh, Hailpaw. Still gonna call you Auroua, like I do with Shine."

'Flintpaw!' Hailpaw smiled to herself, proud that she knew who that was. She stayed silent for a few moments after Silentpaw finished her next comment. 'So Aurora is a nickname?' She didn't mind it. It was sort of pretty, and it sounded like Silentpaw was giving other cats nicknames, too. She nodded. "Alright."

Silentpaw dipped her head at Hailpaw, wrapping her tail around her paws. She looked around, looking for something to say. "So.. You said you couldn't see, how's that like?" The apprentice asked, blinking.

"Um.." Hailpaw frowned a little, not sure how to respond. She didn't really like talking about her disability. It made her feel like she was missing out on a bunch. "Well, it's normal to me. I don't know. What's it like to see things?" She bounced the question back, wanting Silentpaw to realize that it was a little hard to answer.

Silentpaw tensed when she saw Hailpaw frown. She turned red with embarrassment and shook her head. "Seeing things... Is just seeing colors of the world. Its beautiful, but what you imagine of it is truly the beautiful thing." She meowed, tilting her head.
Silentpaw then gave a confused face, "I have NO idea what I just said." She said, cringing.

Hailpaw thought about that for a little bit. It sounded like it was indescribable. She shook her head when Silentpaw cringed. "No, no, I like it. It wasn't just a boring old answer that everyone else gives." She smiled and nodded, wanting to assure her clanmate that what she said was good.
