Slate prowled through Deathclan territory.
Well, it was much less prowling and more stomping through, scaring all the prey in your path in a flurry of rage prowl. His eyes narrowed into bright teal slits, and his fur was in clumps. He was in one of his moods, growling at everything that breathed. Slate's mind was a torrent of impossible questions with no answers that had sewn permanently into his thoughts.
He eventually came to a halt, taking a few breaths to slightly clear his head. His thick, black ears pricked as he heard something, or someone behind him take a step towards him. Slate instantly turned around, his pelt spiked and a snarl in his mew.
"What?!"

Patch had been following Slate, not really for a reason except to see him angry. The only time she saw him, he was rather shy. As the tom whirled around, Patch smirked. Just stay calm and hopefully she won't die. "Just seeing how cats are doing, you alright?" She asked casually, dropping her smirk and narrowing her eyes.

Slate face was twisted into a mask of rage.
"No, no I am not okay!" He growled, his thick tail lashing "Why do you even care?" After saying that, his ears dropped slightly, and his bright eyes flashed, then resumed his fit.
"What where you even doing, following me??" Slate snipped.

Patch stood calmly as Slate yelled at her, she flicked her tail and bared her teeth. "I don't want my clanmates being too snappy...!" She hissed, trying to calm herself. She shook her pelt and straightened up, taking a deep breath.
"And I got bored, that good 'nough reason?" Patch meowed, raising a kittybrow and raising her head.

Slate fought the urge to strangle Patch here and then.
But he just grit his teeth and tossed his head. How dare she call me-! He paused his thinking. I guess I am being snappy... I don't give a mousetail!
"Good reason," He meowed in a voice defiantly not sarcastic. "I feel sooooo special for you to waste your time on." Slate turned his back to her, sending one more cold look her way "Why don't you just leave me alone? You could be doing much more valuable with your time."

(Sorry this is late ;O;)
Patch raised her head, glaring down at the tom. She watched him turn his back on her and she hissed, "Can't a cat be happy around here!? I feel like I'm the only one who feels other emotions besides anger and sadness!" She didn't directly yell at Slate, more of anger at herself and her clan.

Slate's ears flattend unhappily.
He didn't want others to tell him he was a grumpy, snappy, growling, bump on a log...Ing, cat. Even though he wasn't a package of sunshine and rainbows, he surely felt like it. What really ticked him off was when Patch snapped if she was the only one with other emotions around here. Slate took in a breath for a comeback... And then just exhaled in a sigh.
"Well..." He meowed quietly, barely even mewing "Maybe you are."

Patch staggered back as Slate replied to her outburst, she bared her teeth in frustration. "Well, I'm glad I'm not a heartless badger with no family." She retorted, not even noticing the offense to her comeback. Patch felt alone when she was told she might be the only one, but she stood still, digging her claws into the sharp earth.

Slate just huffed and started to walk away.
'Well I'm glad I'm not a heartless badger with no family.'
He froze, those words piercing his heart like an icicle. His mind flashed back to his mother, how she wished she could provide for him, how she had tears in her eyes when she eventually had to leave him... How he went after her, begging, pleading, how she had run from him blindly onto the thunderpath... And then...
Slate's head twitched little by little around to meet Patch's eyes, while his were leaking fresh tears, running down and soaking his face. He actually managed to choke out:
"I'm glad... You're not... I-it hurts... So much..."

Patch's eyes widened as Slate turned to her, she realized what she said and backed up. She herself didn't have any family, no memories of them, unless she counted her unknown memories of a sister. And Patch had done some barbaric things in her life as well, so she was no different. She turned her head to the side and gave a sheepish look towards the sky.
Patch turned back to the tom, unblinking. "I... Lost control of thought..." She murmered an apology quietly.

(Shortie postie) Slate closed his tearful eyes and sighed.
"I-it's okay." He tried to block out any more memories of mother as he attempted to dry his eyes. "It's what I am anyways." His dark gray fur was flat, as flat as it could have gone, and his ears were pinned back. "Just a heartless badger writhing in his own misery, thanks, I really needed to hear that Patch." Though he kept an aggressive tone when he said those last few words.

Patch sighed, even though she wanted to talk, she didn't have the courage to. She instead stepped forwards, wanting to comfort him. But he would probably slash her to pieces. "Your welcome.." She said sarcastically, looking at the ground.

Slate just closed his eyes and sighed heavily.
"Ugh, this is impossible." He huffed bluntly, shaking his pelt like he just got out of cold water. "Why am I even..." He sighed again, swishing his tail against the ground. His head was spinning from horrible memories, memories that he tried to bury for moons. Thanks to Patch they mostly resurfaced. Mostly.
"Can you just leave me alone?" Slate tried to sound angry, but his voice was hollow and quiet.

Patch sighed to herself, feeling sorry for herself. Why is it always her that cause cats to get in worse moods? It wasn't fair. Her claws dug deeply into her other paw, she winced and shook her bleeding paw. "Slate, tell me why you were mad and I'll go." She bargained, trying to pretend she wasn't bleeding.
