Frostedkit ambled into the camp, away from the safe confines of the nursery, and away from the warmth of a queen's body. Shafts of golden sunlight warmed her tiny body even as she fluffed up her pale tabby fur against the cool breeze. Her frost-blue eyes flicked up to the sky, vivid blue, searing behind a latticework of black branches. It comforted her to know that what she could see was not the limits of the extent of the territory, away from soft nests and the milky scent of sleep. Rain began to fall, in large droplets, colliding softly with the earth, creating a beautiful, musical sound. It was a terrike way to spend her first day experiencing rain; cold droplets slicked her usually well-groomed, downy fur down against her skin, collecting against her dark lashes in a mist. Her tiny white teeth chopped against each other, and, in her haste to escape, to get away from the neverending rain, she stumbled against someone, fur against fur.
