Duskrise had finally managed to shake off the funk that the avalanche had left him in.

Well, most of it. He still felt that faintest trace of nervousness that didn't let him sleep as well or relax all the way. As if some other disaster was lying in wait. He realized fairly quickly this was irrational. The clan was safe. He was safe.

Didn't stop that feeling he had.

He'd been keeping mostly to himself, which was a little strange for him. He normally enjoyed meeting other cats. He took a deep breath. It was dawn. Normally he woke up early, but a contradictory mixture of tiredness and alertness commanded his mind. He scanned around. Maybe there was some cat he could talk to. Maybe that would help him feel more like himself. He just hoped they wouldn't be too busy.

Skykit walked cautiously, staying in the shady areas. If she were out in the sun she would burn in a few minutes. Her fur was so long that it kept out all traces of coolness. Even the breeze was hot. Skykit wished so much that she was back in the time that her mom told her about, the ones where they were always in the ice. And this ice alone. She had never seen it, but it seemed so awesome, a cool chunk of land. Mabey she would even to cool there. Alas, she wasn't there, she was here. She sighed as she slumped down in the shade by a black warrior.

Duskrise's eyes managed to focus on a small she-kit who'd come over and plopped herself down next to him.

He stared at her for a few brief moments before shaking his head a bit, trying to shake off the weird feelings that seemed to nudge him in the back of the his mind. He cocked his head. "Hey...." He meowed out loud, trying to catch the kit's attention. He didn't know their name and he figured calling them 'kit' or 'kid' might be a bit.... Rude.
