Jude didn't really pay attention to the rest of their talking. He was spacing off, looking directly at Patch. He didn't know anything about this she-cat, other than that she was his brother's friend. "Patch, do you have a family?" It didn't sound like she did. 'That's terrible.'

"I'm pretty sure she does Jude," Riverpaw interrupted defensively. Riverpaw noticed how she only said pain would save her head as if she didn't have a family present. Family was a touchy subject for him and Jude and surely Patch. "Patch yoydknt have to answer that." He assured his friend. He glared at his brother.

Patch turned a bit red at Jude's question, she shuffled her paws. "Not one present, loner parents are idiots these days." She said, shrugging. But seriously, who leaves their own kids to fend for themselves in a rather hostile area. Most cats, obviously. She stared at Riverpaw and laughed, "No, its fine."

"Patch,he shouldn't have asked that!" he yowled in protest. His friend didn't desvere to be put on the spot like that.

"I didn't ask you." He snapped, turning back to Patch. "Well, maybe you'll see them again someday." His voice was soft, but it hardened when Riverpaw yowled. "You know? You're right! You're her friend. You should have asked her if she had a family! It would have showed that you cared." Jude felt a growl begin to rise in his throat. His brother was irritating him. 'Why would he think I was being rude? I just wanted to help her!'

"Jude you know it's a soft spot for many cats, even for you." He growled. 'Quit being a heartless loner' he thought to himself. He was supposed to like his brother and not fight Like this.
