Within the shadows of the nursery, where the fiery heat of the sun did not reach, a young tom kit sat, his gaze locked onto the den's entrance. The day had been a hot one, and much as he loved playing beyond the confines of the nursery, Frostkit had been unable to remain out in the camp for any extended period of time without feeling as though he would burst into flames. So he'd resolved to stay in his nest during the day, and sneak out to play in the night. It was only now, as he gazed at the entrance to the nursery with a bored fog glazing his normally sky blue eyes, that he realized just how awful that plan had been. With a noise somewhere between an exasperated sigh and a growl, he pulled himself out of his nest and made his way toward the entrance. Before he could step beyond the opening, another cat walked through, and with a widening of his eyes, Frostkit stepped to the side, though not quickly enough to avoid having his foot stepped on. He ignored his own discomfort, however, and turned to the other cat with an apology. "Sorry about that; I should have been paying more attention."

Sorrelkit flinched away as she ran into another kit. "I'm so sorry." She mumbled politly, wanting this new cat to pass so she could dash into her corner and cuddle up aginst the thistles.
