Ghost yawned as he lay in the front garden of the house that he shared with his twoleg owner, Jackie. It was a relatively normal garden if you didn't count the numerous cobwebs and the ivy making it's way all the way up the front side of the black painted house. You could barely see it's colour anymore.
A purr erupted from the young tom's throat as he scratched at his neck with his hind leg, the black, spikey collar with a cross dangling from it resting on it spinning as he did so. The sunlight was shining on his dark pelt, making him feel almost uncomfortably warm. 'Ugh, it's too hot.' he complained in his head, staring forwards at a cat standing outside the black gate.
"Who are you then?" He asked, flicking his ear in annoyance at the weather... He really wanted his collar off right now.

Shatter had decided to go see what the Twolegplace was like. She scratched her ear with her front paw before she fixed her gaze onto a black tom-cat. Probably one of those lazy kittypets. The loner thought silently. Her amber eyes narrowed at the tom-cat. Shatter stayed silently. He saw me. Oh great.
Shatter finally spoke. "Why should I tell you" The calico tabby hissed, ears flattened against her head. The she-cat just stayed silently, her tail twitching as she waited for the kittypet to speak

"You should tell me because at least then we can have a civilised conversation." He spoke matter-of-factly.
"Look, I'm Ghost, I live here... Just want to make sure you aren't a threat so tell me your name and maybe we can be aquaintances at the least." He stood up from his laying position and went to go and sit on the short brick wall outlining his front garden, a bored expression on his face.

Shatter blinked as the kittypet spoke. She was not really in the mood to talk that much. "My name is Shatter, formally Birch" The calico tabby introduced herself. Shatter's tail twitched once more. "There I've told you my name, are you happy now" She muttered
"I'm not a threat! I rarely come to this stinkin place!" Shatter growled, but then she sighed. I'm being too harsh. "I'm sorry for snapping at you, it's just that I've been through a lot lately"

"Yes, I'm happy now. It's a pleasure to meet you, Shatter." He continued with a wave of his tail, "It's fine, I know it's not the best place in the world and we all have our bad days."
The tom leaped down from the brick wall to stand in the street, "You're welcome inside if you want. It's pretty snug with some food, help you get your mind off whatever's troubling you." He offered, smiling and trying to act as kind as he could without getting annoying... He wasn't quite sure if he was succeeding.

Shatter looked at her paws. "No thanks I can hunt for myself" She murmered. "I don't really prefer kittypet food" Shatter meowed again. Yuck I'm not eating food that looks like slop and rabbit droppings. Shatter was silent again but then she decided to ask a question.
"What's it like being a kittypet. What do you do all day?" She asked. All Shatter knew was what her mother had told her. She had been told that kittypet's layed around all day being lazy. But this kittypet did not look like he did that.

"Life as a kitty pet is alright I guess but one day I wanna go out and explore. My average day consists of a small amount of food in the morning before I head out all day." He continued, "The majority of the day I spend walking around, hunting mice and birds at the park and in allyways and stuff."
He tilted his head a little before asking a question, "What's it like to be a loner or rogue... whatever you call yourself?"

Shatter thought all kittypet's were lazy but this one was not. He would make a good wild cat. "Well being a loner is quite peaceful. I live in a den that I used to share with my sister. Being a loner or a rogue feels like your free" She murmured but then she thought about Rage. I hope she's ok in her new home.
"I could show you where I live if you want" Shatter meowed again

"Freedom. Sounds like the dream life. I'd probably become a loner if I didn't get homesick so easy." He stated, a small chuckle coming from his mouth as he finished speaking.
"I'd like that. I've only been away from the area maybe three times... I get lost pretty easy too." the young tom really was useless at quite a lot of things.

Shatter blinked again. Not many kittypet's were interested in the freedom of loner life. Most of them thought that wild cats eat kittypets for lunch. The calico tabby offered a small smile. Her bright amber eyes fixed on the black tom
Shatter was quite happy that she got to meet someone finally, It had been so boring since Rage had left to join blood thirsty DeathClan. "So do you want to do something?"

Ghost replied to the question with a small chuckle, his grey tipped tail swishing gently, "Well it depends on you idea of 'something'," He continued, "I'm up for a hunt, walk, childish game but to be honest jumping off cliffs isn't really my idea of a good time"

Shatter let out a meow of laughter. "Even I don't jump off cliffs. Only mousebrains do that." She meowed. Who would jump off a cliff. Would anyone be that mousebrained? "Maybe we could go hunting and catch a few mice" The calico tabby suggested.
Shatter scanned her surrondings. "Is there any good hunting spots around here?" The calico tabby asked him, waiting for a response from the young tom

Ghost let out a small laugh before replying, a smile on his face, "I'd have to say the park. If there's not many twolegs and dogs out there's normally a lot of rabbits, He continued, "There's also a lake there which is great for birds and ducks, but only if you can swim."
The young tom began to step slowly in the direction of the park, "Although I thought I'd warn you now, twoleg kits might try to pet you."

Shatter thought of which place sounding better. I heard ducks are tasty but rabbits have a better taste. She thought. "We could try the park" The calico tabby meowed. She could hardly wait to sink her claws into a rabbit and breathing in its warm mouth-watering scent
Shatter followed him in the direction of the park. She kept on tasting the air, to scent prey.

"Come on then, I know a shortcut." He purred, heading forwards a little more before going onto the fence of another house. This way, they could just go straight past a few houses, rather than around all the corners. It was also safer as there were few dogs in these gardens and no monsters, whereas the other way there was a high chance of one of them getting hit.
"It's just through here, this way's faster and safer, just try not to fall into a garden 'cause some spray water if you get too close" He warned, remembering a time when he got attacked by the water producing device and Jackie had to spend around twenty minutes drying him off.
(Just a note, by this I mean like water security where they detect movement so the water sprinklers go off)
